תּוּכְל֣וּ able tū·ḵə·lū לְהֵיטִ֔יב to do good — lə·hê·ṭîḇ לִמֻּדֵ֖י you who are accustomed lim·mu·ḏê הָרֵֽעַ׃ to doing evil . hā·rê·a‘ Jeremiah 13:24 וַאֲפִיצֵ֖ם “ I will scatter you wa·’ă·p̄î·ṣêm כְּקַשׁ־ like chaff kə·qaš- עוֹבֵ֑ר driven ‘ō·w·ḇêr מִדְבָּֽר׃ by the desert miḏ·bār לְר֖וּחַ wind . lə·rū·aḥ Jeremiah 13:25 זֶ֣ה This zeh גוֹרָלֵ֧ךְ is your lot , ḡō·w·rā·lêḵ מְנָת־ the portion mə·nāṯ- מֵֽאִתִּ֖י I have mê·’it·tî מִדַּ֛יִךְ measured to you , ” mid·da·yiḵ נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁר֙ “ because ’ă·šer שָׁכַ֣חַתְּ you have forgotten Me šā·ḵa·ḥat אוֹתִ֔י - ’ō·w·ṯî וַֽתִּבְטְחִ֖י and trusted wat·tiḇ·ṭə·ḥî בַּשָּֽׁקֶר׃ in falsehood . baš·šā·qer Jeremiah 13:26 וְגַם־ So wə·ḡam- אֲנִ֛י I ’ă·nî שׁוּלַ֖יִךְ will pull your skirts šū·la·yiḵ חָשַׂ֥פְתִּי up ḥā·śap̄·tî עַל־ over ‘al- פָּנָ֑יִךְ your face , pā·nā·yiḵ קְלוֹנֵֽךְ׃ that your shame qə·lō·w·nêḵ וְנִרְאָ֖ה may be seen . wə·nir·’āh Jeremiah 13:27 נִֽאֻפַ֤יִךְ Your adulteries ni·’u·p̄a·yiḵ וּמִצְהֲלוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙ and lustful neighings , ū·miṣ·hă·lō·w·ṯa·yiḵ זִמַּ֣ת your shameless zim·maṯ זְנוּתֵ֔ךְ prostitution zə·nū·ṯêḵ עַל־ on ‘al- גְּבָעוֹת֙ the hills gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה [and] in the fields — baś·śā·ḏeh רָאִ֖יתִי I have seen rā·’î·ṯî שִׁקּוּצָ֑יִךְ your detestable acts . šiq·qū·ṣā·yiḵ א֥וֹי Woe ’ō·w לָךְ֙ to you , lāḵ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם O Jerusalem ! yə·rū·šā·lim אַחֲרֵ֥י How long ’a·ḥă·rê מָתַ֖י . . . mā·ṯay עֹֽד׃פ . . . ‘ōḏ תִטְהֲרִ֔י will you remain ṯiṭ·hă·rî לֹ֣א unclean ? ” lō Jeremiah 14:1 דְבַר־ [This is] the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer הָיָ֤ה came hā·yāh אֶֽל־ to ’el- יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū עַל־ concerning ‘al- דִּבְרֵ֖י . . . diḇ·rê הַבַּצָּרֽוֹת׃ the drought : hab·baṣ·ṣā·rō·wṯ Jeremiah 14:2 יְהוּדָ֔ה “ Judah yə·hū·ḏāh אָבְלָ֣ה mourns ’ā·ḇə·lāh וּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָ and her gates ū·šə·‘ā·re·hā אֻמְלְל֖וּ languish . ’um·lə·lū קָדְר֣וּ [Her people] wail qā·ḏə·rū לָאָ֑רֶץ for the land , lā·’ā·reṣ וְצִוְחַ֥ת and a cry wə·ṣiw·ḥaṯ עָלָֽתָה׃ goes up ‘ā·lā·ṯāh יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם from Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim Jeremiah 14:3 וְאַדִּ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם The nobles wə·’ad·di·rê·hem שָׁלְח֥וּ send šā·lə·ḥū צְעוֹרֵיהֶם their servants ṣə·ʿō·rē·hɛm לַמָּ֑יִם for water ; lam·mā·yim בָּ֣אוּ they go bā·’ū עַל־ to ‘al- גֵּבִ֞ים the cisterns , gê·ḇîm מָ֣צְאוּ but find mā·ṣə·’ū לֹא־ no lō- מַ֗יִם water ; ma·yim כְלֵיהֶם֙ their jars ḵə·lê·hem שָׁ֤בוּ return šā·ḇū רֵיקָ֔ם empty . rê·qām בֹּ֥שׁוּ They are ashamed bō·šū וְהָכְלְמ֖וּ and humiliated ; wə·hā·ḵə·lə·mū
