Jeremiah 10:18 כִּֽי־ For kî- כֹה֙ this is what ḵōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִ֥י “ Behold , hin·nî הַזֹּ֑את at this haz·zōṯ בַּפַּ֣עַם time bap·pa·‘am קוֹלֵ֛עַ I will sling out qō·w·lê·a‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יוֹשְׁבֵ֥י the inhabitants yō·wō·šə·ḇê הָאָ֖רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַהֲצֵר֥וֹתִי and bring distress wa·hă·ṣê·rō·w·ṯî לָהֶ֖ם upon them lā·hem לְמַ֥עַן so that they lə·ma·‘an יִמְצָֽאוּ׃ס may be captured . ” yim·ṣā·’ū Jeremiah 10:19 א֥וֹי Woe ’ō·w לִי֙ to me lî עַל־ because of ‘al- שִׁבְרִ֔י my brokenness ; šiḇ·rî מַכָּתִ֑י my wound mak·kā·ṯî נַחְלָ֖ה is grievous ! naḥ·lāh וַאֲנִ֣י But I wa·’ă·nî אָמַ֔רְתִּי said , ’ā·mar·tî אַ֛ךְ . . . ’aḵ זֶ֥ה “ This zeh חֳלִ֖י is truly my sickness , ḥo·lî וְאֶשָּׂאֶֽנּוּ׃ and I must bear it .” wə·’eś·śā·’en·nū Jeremiah 10:20 אָהֳלִ֣י My tent ’ā·ho·lî שֻׁדָּ֔ד is destroyed , šud·dāḏ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl מֵיתָרַ֖י its ropes mê·ṯā·ray נִתָּ֑קוּ are snapped . nit·tā·qū בָּנַ֤י My sons bā·nay יְצָאֻ֙נִי֙ have departed from me yə·ṣā·’u·nî וְאֵינָ֔ם and are no more . wə·’ê·nām אֵין־ I have no one ’ên- עוֹד֙ left ‘ō·wḏ נֹטֶ֥ה to pitch nō·ṭeh אָהֳלִ֔י my tent ’ā·ho·lî וּמֵקִ֖ים or set up ū·mê·qîm יְרִיעוֹתָֽי׃ my curtains . yə·rî·‘ō·w·ṯāy Jeremiah 10:21 כִּ֤י For kî הָֽרֹעִ֔ים the shepherds hā·rō·‘îm נִבְעֲרוּ֙ have become senseless ; niḇ·‘ă·rū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לֹ֣א they do not lō דָרָ֑שׁוּ seek ḏā·rā·šū יְהוָ֖ה YHWH . Yah·weh עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּן֙ . . . kên לֹ֣א they have not lō הִשְׂכִּ֔ילוּ prospered , hiś·kî·lū וְכָל־ and all their wə·ḵāl מַרְעִיתָ֖ם flock mar·‘î·ṯām נָפֽוֹצָה׃ס is scattered . nā·p̄ō·w·ṣāh Jeremiah 10:22 הִנֵּ֣ה Listen ! hin·nêh ק֤וֹל The sound qō·wl שְׁמוּעָה֙ of a report šə·mū·‘āh בָאָ֔ה is coming — ḇā·’āh גָּד֖וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl וְרַ֥עַשׁ commotion wə·ra·‘aš מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ צָפ֑וֹן to the north . ṣā·p̄ō·wn עָרֵ֧י The cities ‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֛ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לָשׂ֞וּם will be made lā·śūm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁמָמָ֖ה a desolation , šə·mā·māh מְע֥וֹן a haunt mə·‘ō·wn תַּנִּֽים׃ס for jackals . tan·nîm Jeremiah 10:23 יָדַ֣עְתִּי I know , yā·ḏa‘·tî יְהוָ֔ה O YHWH , Yah·weh כִּ֛י that kî לָאָדָ֖ם a man’s lā·’ā·ḏām דַּרְכּ֑וֹ way dar·kōw לֹ֥א is not his own ; lō לֹֽא־ no lō- לְאִ֣ישׁ one lə·’îš הֹלֵ֔ךְ who walks hō·lêḵ וְהָכִ֖ין directs wə·hā·ḵîn אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- צַעֲדֽוֹ׃ his own steps . ṣa·‘ă·ḏōw
