Jeremiah 10:5 כְּתֹ֨מֶר Like scarecrows kə·ṯō·mer מִקְשָׁ֥ה in a cucumber patch , miq·šāh הֵ֙מָּה֙ their idols hêm·māh וְלֹ֣א cannot wə·lō יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ speak . yə·ḏab·bê·rū נָשׂ֥וֹא They must be carried nā·śō·w יִנָּשׂ֖וּא . . . yin·nā·śū כִּ֣י because kî לֹ֣א they cannot lō יִצְעָ֑דוּ walk . yiṣ·‘ā·ḏū אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּֽירְא֤וּ fear tî·rə·’ū מֵהֶם֙ them , mê·hem כִּי־ for kî- לֹ֣א they can do no lō יָרֵ֔עוּ harm , yā·rê·‘ū וְגַם־ and wə·ḡam- אֵ֥ין neither can they ’ên אוֹתָֽם׃ס . . . ’ō·w·ṯām הֵיטֵ֖יב do any good . ” hê·ṭêḇ Jeremiah 10:6 מֵאֵ֥ין There is none mê·’ên כָּמ֖וֹךָ like You , kā·mō·w·ḵā יְהוָ֑ה O YHWH . Yah·weh אַתָּ֛ה You ’at·tāh גָּד֥וֹל are great , gā·ḏō·wl שִׁמְךָ֖ and Your name šim·ḵā וְגָד֥וֹל is mighty wə·ḡā·ḏō·wl בִּגְבוּרָֽה׃ in power . biḡ·ḇū·rāh Jeremiah 10:7 מִ֣י Who mî לֹ֤א would not lō יִֽרָאֲךָ֙ fear You , yi·rā·’ă·ḵā מֶ֣לֶךְ O King me·leḵ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם of nations ? hag·gō·w·yim כִּ֥י kî יָאָ֑תָה This is Your due yā·’ā·ṯāh לְךָ֖ . lə·ḵā כִּ֣י For kî בְכָל־ among all ḇə·ḵāl- חַכְמֵ֧י the wise [men] ḥaḵ·mê הַגּוֹיִ֛ם of the nations , hag·gō·w·yim וּבְכָל־ and in all ū·ḇə·ḵāl מַלְכוּתָ֖ם their kingdoms , mal·ḵū·ṯām מֵאֵ֥ין there is none mê·’ên כָּמֽוֹךָ׃ like You . kā·mō·w·ḵā Jeremiah 10:8 וּבְאַחַ֖ת But they are altogether ū·ḇə·’a·ḥaṯ יִבְעֲר֣וּ senseless yiḇ·‘ă·rū וְיִכְסָ֑לוּ and foolish , wə·yiḵ·sā·lū מוּסַ֥ר instructed mū·sar הֲבָלִ֖ים by worthless idols hă·ḇā·lîm עֵ֥ץ made of wood ! ‘êṣ הֽוּא׃ . . . hū Jeremiah 10:9 מְרֻקָּ֞ע Hammered mə·ruq·qā‘ כֶּ֣סֶף silver ke·sep̄ יוּבָ֗א is brought yū·ḇā מִתַּרְשִׁ֣ישׁ from Tarshish , mit·tar·šîš וְזָהָב֙ and gold wə·zā·hāḇ מֵֽאוּפָ֔ז from Uphaz — mê·’ū·p̄āz מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה the work ma·‘ă·śêh חָרָ֖שׁ of a craftsman ḥā·rāš וִידֵ֣י from the hands wî·ḏê צוֹרֵ֑ף of a goldsmith . ṣō·w·rêp̄ לְבוּשָׁ֔ם Their clothes lə·ḇū·šām תְּכֵ֤לֶת are blue tə·ḵê·leṯ וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ and purple , wə·’ar·gā·mān כֻּלָּֽם׃ all kul·lām מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה fashioned ma·‘ă·śêh חֲכָמִ֖ים by skilled workers . ḥă·ḵā·mîm Jeremiah 10:10 וַֽיהוָ֤ה But YHWH Yah·weh אֱמֶ֔ת is the true ’ĕ·meṯ אֱלֹהִים֙ God ; ’ĕ·lō·hîm הֽוּא־ He hū- חַיִּ֖ים is the living ḥay·yîm אֱלֹהִ֥ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm עוֹלָ֑ם and eternal ‘ō·w·lām וּמֶ֣לֶךְ King . ū·me·leḵ הָאָ֔רֶץ The earth hā·’ā·reṣ תִּרְעַ֣שׁ quakes tir·‘aš מִקִּצְפּוֹ֙ at His wrath , miq·qiṣ·pōw גוֹיִ֖ם and the nations ḡō·w·yim וְלֹֽא־ cannot wə·lō- יָכִ֥לוּ endure yā·ḵi·lū זַעְמֽוֹ׃ס His indignation . za‘·mōw
