אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תּ֣וֹרָתִ֔י My law , tō·w·rā·ṯî אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ’ă·šer נָתַ֖תִּי I set nā·ṯat·tî לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם before them ; lip̄·nê·hem וְלֹא־ they have not wə·lō- הָ֥לְכוּ walked hā·lə·ḵū בָֽהּ׃ in it ḇāh וְלֹא־ [or] wə·lō- שָׁמְע֥וּ obeyed šā·mə·‘ū בְקוֹלִ֖י My voice . ḇə·qō·w·lî Jeremiah 9:14 וַיֵּ֣לְכ֔וּ Instead, they have followed way·yê·lə·ḵū אַחֲרֵ֖י . . . ’a·ḥă·rê שְׁרִר֣וּת the stubbornness šə·ri·rūṯ לִבָּ֑ם of their hearts lib·bām וְאַחֲרֵי֙ and gone after wə·’a·ḥă·rê הַבְּעָלִ֔ים the Baals , hab·bə·‘ā·lîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר as ’ă·šer אֲבוֹתָֽם׃ס their fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām לִמְּד֖וּם taught them .” lim·mə·ḏūm Jeremiah 9:15 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּֽה־ this is what kōh- יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאוֹת֙ of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַ֞ר says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִ֧י “ Behold , hin·nî מַאֲכִילָ֛ם I will feed ma·’ă·ḵî·lām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh הָעָ֥ם people hā·‘ām לַֽעֲנָ֑ה wormwood la·‘ă·nāh רֹֽאשׁ׃ and give them poisoned rōš מֵי־ water mê- וְהִשְׁקִיתִ֖ים to drink . wə·hiš·qî·ṯîm Jeremiah 9:16 וַהֲפִֽצוֹתִים֙ I will scatter them wa·hă·p̄i·ṣō·w·ṯîm בַּגּוֹיִ֔ם among the nations bag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁר֙ that ’ă·šer לֹ֣א neither lō הֵ֖מָּה they hêm·māh וַֽאֲבוֹתָ֑ם [nor] their fathers wa·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām יָֽדְע֔וּ have known , yā·ḏə·‘ū וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י and I will send wə·šil·laḥ·tî הַחֶ֔רֶב a sword ha·ḥe·reḇ אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙ after ’a·ḥă·rê·hem אֶת־ them ’eṯ- עַ֥ד until ‘aḏ כַּלּוֹתִ֖י I have finished them off kal·lō·w·ṯî אוֹתָֽם׃פ - .” ’ō·w·ṯām Jeremiah 9:17 כֹּ֤ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar הִתְבּֽוֹנְנ֛וּ “ Take note , hiṯ·bō·wn·nū וְקִרְא֥וּ and summon wə·qir·’ū לַמְקוֹנְנ֖וֹת the wailing women ; lam·qō·wn·nō·wṯ וּתְבוֹאֶ֑ינָה . . . ū·ṯə·ḇō·w·’e·nāh שִׁלְח֖וּ send šil·ḥū וְתָבֽוֹאנָה׃ . . . wə·ṯā·ḇō·w·nāh וְאֶל־ for wə·’el- הַחֲכָמ֥וֹת the [most] skillful [among them] . ha·ḥă·ḵā·mō·wṯ Jeremiah 9:18 וּתְמַהֵ֕רְנָה Let them come quickly ū·ṯə·ma·hê·rə·nāh וְתִשֶּׂ֥נָה and take up wə·ṯiś·śe·nāh נֶ֑הִי a lament ne·hî עָלֵ֖ינוּ over us , ‘ā·lê·nū עֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙ that our eyes ‘ê·nê·nū וְתֵרַ֤דְנָה may overflow wə·ṯê·raḏ·nāh דִּמְעָ֔ה with tears , dim·‘āh וְעַפְעַפֵּ֖ינוּ and our eyelids wə·‘ap̄·‘ap·pê·nū יִזְּלוּ־ may gush yiz·zə·lū- מָֽיִם׃ with water . mā·yim Jeremiah 9:19 כִּ֣י For kî ק֥וֹל the sound qō·wl נְהִ֛י of wailing nə·hî נִשְׁמַ֥ע is heard niš·ma‘ מִצִּיּ֖וֹן from Zion : miṣ·ṣî·yō·wn אֵ֣יךְ ‘ How ’êḵ שֻׁדָּ֑דְנוּ devastated we are ! šud·dā·ḏə·nū מְאֹד֙ How great mə·’ōḏ בֹּ֤שְׁנֽוּ is our shame ! bō·šə·nū כִּֽי־ For kî-
