עַמִּ֔י my people ‘am·mî וְאֵלְכָ֖ה and depart wə·’ê·lə·ḵāh מֵֽאִתָּ֑ם from them , mê·’it·tām כִּ֤י for kî כֻלָּם֙ they are all ḵul·lām מְנָ֣אֲפִ֔ים adulterers , mə·nā·’ă·p̄îm עֲצֶ֖רֶת a crowd ‘ă·ṣe·reṯ בֹּגְדִֽים׃ of faithless people . bō·ḡə·ḏîm Jeremiah 9:3 וַֽיַּדְרְכ֤וּ “ They bend way·yaḏ·rə·ḵū אֶת־ ’eṯ- לְשׁוֹנָם֙ their tongues lə·šō·w·nām קַשְׁתָּ֣ם like bows ; qaš·tām שֶׁ֔קֶר lies še·qer גָּבְר֣וּ prevail gā·ḇə·rū וְלֹ֥א over wə·lō לֶאֱמוּנָ֖ה truth le·’ĕ·mū·nāh בָאָ֑רֶץ in the land . ḇā·’ā·reṣ כִּי֩ For kî יָצָ֛אוּ they proceed yā·ṣā·’ū וְאֹתִ֥י - wə·’ō·ṯî מֵרָעָ֨ה from evil mê·rā·‘āh אֶל־ to ’el- רָעָ֧ה׀ evil , rā·‘āh לֹֽא־ and they do not lō- יָדָ֖עוּ take Me into account , ” yā·ḏā·‘ū נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ס YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 9:4 אִ֤ישׁ “ Let everyone ’îš הִשָּׁמֵ֔רוּ guard hiš·šā·mê·rū וְעַל־ against wə·‘al- מֵרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ his neighbor ; mê·rê·‘ê·hū אַל־ do not ’al- תִּבְטָ֑חוּ trust tiḇ·ṭā·ḥū כָּל־ any kāl- אָ֖ח brother , ’āḥ כִּ֤י for kî כָל־ every ḵāl אָח֙ brother ’āḥ עָק֣וֹב deals ‘ā·qō·wḇ יַעְקֹ֔ב craftily , ya‘·qōḇ וְכָל־ and every wə·ḵāl רֵ֖עַ friend rê·a‘ יַהֲלֹֽךְ׃ spreads ya·hă·lōḵ רָכִ֥יל slander . rā·ḵîl Jeremiah 9:5 וְאִ֤ישׁ Each one wə·’îš יְהָתֵ֔לּוּ betrays yə·hā·ṯêl·lū בְּרֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ his friend ; bə·rê·‘ê·hū לֹ֣א no lō יְדַבֵּ֑רוּ one tells yə·ḏab·bê·rū וֶאֱמֶ֖ת the truth . we·’ĕ·meṯ לִמְּד֧וּ They have taught lim·mə·ḏū לְשׁוֹנָ֛ם their tongues lə·šō·w·nām דַּבֶּר־ to lie dab·ber- שֶׁ֖קֶר . . . ; še·qer נִלְאֽוּ׃ they wear themselves out nil·’ū הַעֲוֵ֥ה committing iniquity . ha·‘ă·wêh Jeremiah 9:6 שִׁבְתְּךָ֖ You dwell šiḇ·tə·ḵā בְּת֣וֹךְ in the midst bə·ṯō·wḵ מִרְמָ֑ה of deception ; mir·māh בְּמִרְמָ֛ה in their deceit bə·mir·māh מֵאֲנ֥וּ they refuse mê·’ă·nū דַֽעַת־ to know ḏa·‘aṯ- אוֹתִ֖י Me , ” ’ō·w·ṯî נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ס YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 9:7 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּ֤ה this is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִ֥י “ Behold , hin·nî צוֹרְפָ֖ם I will refine them ṣō·wr·p̄ām וּבְחַנְתִּ֑ים and test them , ū·ḇə·ḥan·tîm כִּֽי־ for kî- אֵ֣יךְ what ’êḵ אֶעֱשֶׂ֔ה else can I do ’e·‘ĕ·śeh מִפְּנֵ֖י because of mip·pə·nê בַּת־ the daughter baṯ- עַמִּֽי׃ of My people ? ‘am·mî Jeremiah 9:8 לְשׁוֹנָ֖ם Their tongues lə·šō·w·nām שׁוֹחֵט are deadly šō·ḥēṭ חֵ֥ץ arrows ; ḥêṣ
