לֹֽא־ they have no lō- יֵבֹ֗שׁוּ shame yê·ḇō·šū בּ֣וֹשׁ at all ; bō·wōš לֹ֣א they do not even lō יָדָ֔עוּ know how yā·ḏā·‘ū וְהִכָּלֵם֙ to blush . wə·hik·kā·lêm לָכֵ֞ן So lā·ḵên יִפְּל֣וּ they will fall yip·pə·lū בַנֹּפְלִ֗ים among the fallen ; ḇan·nō·p̄ə·lîm בְּעֵ֧ת when bə·‘êṯ פְּקֻדָּתָ֛ם I punish them , pə·qud·dā·ṯām יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ they will collapse , yik·kā·šə·lū אָמַ֥ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָֽה׃ס YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 8:13 אָסֹ֥ף I will take away their harvest ’ā·sōp̄ אֲסִיפֵ֖ם . . . , ’ă·sî·p̄êm נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהֹוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh אֵין֩ There will be no ’ên עֲנָבִ֨ים grapes ‘ă·nā·ḇîm בַּגֶּ֜פֶן on the vine , bag·ge·p̄en וְאֵ֧ין nor wə·’ên תְּאֵנִ֣ים figs tə·’ê·nîm בַּתְּאֵנָ֗ה on the tree , bat·tə·’ê·nāh וְהֶֽעָלֶה֙ and even the leaf wə·he·‘ā·leh נָבֵ֔ל will wither . nā·ḇêl וָאֶתֵּ֥ן Whatever I have given wā·’et·tên לָהֶ֖ם them lā·hem יַעַבְרֽוּם׃ will be lost to them . ” ya·‘aḇ·rūm Jeremiah 8:14 עַל־ Why ‘al- מָה֙ . . . māh אֲנַ֣חְנוּ are we ’ă·naḥ·nū יֹֽשְׁבִ֔ים just sitting here? yō·šə·ḇîm הֵֽאָסְפ֗וּ Gather together , hê·’ā·sə·p̄ū וְנָב֛וֹא let us flee wə·nā·ḇō·w אֶל־ to ’el- הַמִּבְצָ֖ר the fortified ham·miḇ·ṣār עָרֵ֥י cities ‘ā·rê וְנִדְּמָה־ and perish wə·nid·də·māh- שָּׁ֑ם there , šām כִּי֩ for kî יְהוָ֨ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū הֲדִמָּ֙נוּ֙ has doomed us . hă·ḏim·mā·nū רֹ֔אשׁ He has given us poisoned rōš מֵי־ water mê- וַיַּשְׁקֵ֣נוּ to drink , way·yaš·qê·nū כִּ֥י because kî חָטָ֖אנוּ we have sinned ḥā·ṭā·nū לַיהוָֽה׃ against YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 8:15 קַוֵּ֥ה We hoped qaw·wêh לְשָׁל֖וֹם for peace , lə·šā·lō·wm וְאֵ֣ין but no wə·’ên ט֑וֹב good [has come] , ṭō·wḇ לְעֵ֥ת for a time lə·‘êṯ מַרְפֵּ֖ה of healing , mar·pêh וְהִנֵּ֥ה but there wə·hin·nêh בְעָתָֽה׃ was only terror . ḇə·‘ā·ṯāh Jeremiah 8:16 נַחְרַ֣ת The snorting naḥ·raṯ סוּסָ֗יו of [enemy] horses sū·sāw נִשְׁמַע֙ is heard niš·ma‘ מִדָּ֤ן from Dan . mid·dān מִקּוֹל֙ At the sound miq·qō·wl מִצְהֲל֣וֹת of the neighing miṣ·hă·lō·wṯ אַבִּירָ֔יו of mighty steeds , ’ab·bî·rāw כָּל־ the whole kāl- הָאָ֑רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ רָעֲשָׁ֖ה quakes . rā·‘ă·šāh וַיָּב֗וֹאוּ They come way·yā·ḇō·w·’ū וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙ to devour way·yō·ḵə·lū אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ וּמְלוֹאָ֔הּ and everything in it , ū·mə·lō·w·’āh עִ֖יר the city ‘îr וְיֹ֥שְׁבֵי and all who dwell wə·yō·šə·ḇê בָֽהּ׃ס in it . ḇāh Jeremiah 8:17 כִּי֩ “ For kî הִנְנִ֨י behold , hin·nî מְשַׁלֵּ֜חַ I will send mə·šal·lê·aḥ נְחָשִׁים֙ snakes nə·ḥā·šîm בָּכֶ֗ם among you , bā·ḵem צִפְעֹנִ֔ים vipers ṣip̄·‘ō·nîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer אֵין־ cannot ’ên- לָהֶ֖ם lā·hem לָ֑חַשׁ be charmed , lā·ḥaš
