שׁוֹטֵ֖ף charging šō·w·ṭêp̄ בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ into battle . bam·mil·ḥā·māh Jeremiah 8:7 גַּם־ Even gam- חֲסִידָ֣ה the stork ḥă·sî·ḏāh בַשָּׁמַ֗יִם in the sky ḇaš·šā·ma·yim יָֽדְעָה֙ knows yā·ḏə·‘āh מֽוֹעֲדֶ֔יהָ her appointed seasons . mō·w·‘ă·ḏe·hā וְתֹ֤ר The turtledove , wə·ṯōr וְסוּס the swift , wə·sūs וְעָג֔וּר and the thrush wə·‘ā·ḡūr שָׁמְר֖וּ keep šā·mə·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵ֣ת their time ‘êṯ בֹּאָ֑נָה of migration , bō·’ā·nāh וְעַמִּ֕י but My people wə·‘am·mî לֹ֣א do not lō יָֽדְע֔וּ know yā·ḏə·‘ū אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ מִשְׁפַּ֥ט the requirements miš·paṭ יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 8:8 אֵיכָ֤ה How ’ê·ḵāh תֹֽאמְרוּ֙ can you say , ṯō·mə·rū אֲנַ֔חְנוּ ‘ We ’ă·naḥ·nū חֲכָמִ֣ים are wise , ḥă·ḵā·mîm וְתוֹרַ֥ת and the Law wə·ṯō·w·raṯ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh אִתָּ֑נוּ is with us , ’ ’it·tā·nū אָכֵן֙ when in fact ’ā·ḵên הִנֵּ֣ה . . . hin·nêh לַשֶּׁ֣קֶר the lying laš·še·qer עֵ֖ט pen ‘êṭ סֹפְרִֽים׃ of the scribes sō·p̄ə·rîm עָשָׂ֔ה has produced ‘ā·śāh שֶׁ֥קֶר a deception ? še·qer Jeremiah 8:9 חֲכָמִ֔ים The wise ḥă·ḵā·mîm הֹבִ֣ישׁוּ will be put to shame ; hō·ḇî·šū חַ֖תּוּ they will be dismayed ḥat·tū וַיִּלָּכֵ֑דוּ and trapped . way·yil·lā·ḵê·ḏū הִנֵּ֤ה Since hin·nêh מָאָ֔סוּ they have rejected mā·’ā·sū בִדְבַר־ the word ḇiḏ·ḇar- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH , Yah·weh מֶ֖ה what meh וְחָכְמַֽת־ wisdom wə·ḥā·ḵə·maṯ- לָהֶֽם׃ס do they really have ? lā·hem Jeremiah 8:10 לָכֵן֩ Therefore lā·ḵên אֶתֵּ֨ן I will give ’et·tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נְשֵׁיהֶ֜ם their wives nə·šê·hem לַאֲחֵרִ֗ים to other men la·’ă·ḥê·rîm שְׂדֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ [and] their fields śə·ḏō·w·ṯê·hem לְי֣וֹרְשִׁ֔ים to new owners . lə·yō·wr·šîm כִּ֤י For kî מִקָּטֹן֙ from the least [of them] miq·qā·ṭōn וְעַד־ to wə·‘aḏ- גָּד֔וֹל the greatest , gā·ḏō·wl כֻּלֹּ֖ה all kul·lōh בֹּצֵ֣עַ are greedy bō·ṣê·a‘ בָּ֑צַע for gain ; bā·ṣa‘ מִנָּבִיא֙ from prophet min·nā·ḇî וְעַד־ to wə·‘aḏ- כֹּהֵ֔ן priest , kō·hên כֻּלֹּ֖ה all kul·lōh עֹ֥שֶׂה practice ‘ō·śeh שָּֽׁקֶר׃ deceit . šā·qer Jeremiah 8:11 וַיְרַפּ֞וּ They dress way·rap·pū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שֶׁ֤בֶר the wound še·ḇer בַּת־ of the daughter baṯ- עַמִּי֙ of My people ‘am·mî עַל־ . . . ‘al- נְקַלָּ֔ה with very little care , nə·qal·lāh לֵאמֹ֖ר saying , lê·mōr שָׁל֣וֹם׀ ‘ Peace , šā·lō·wm שָׁל֑וֹם peace ,’ šā·lō·wm וְאֵ֖ין when there is no wə·’ên שָׁלֽוֹם׃ peace [at all] . šā·lō·wm Jeremiah 8:12 הֹבִ֕שׁוּ Are they ashamed hō·ḇi·šū כִּ֥י of the abomination kî תוֹעֵבָ֖ה - ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh עָשׂ֑וּ they have committed ? ‘ā·śū גַּם־ No , gam-
