Yah·weh Jeremiah 8:18 יָג֑וֹן My sorrow yā·ḡō·wn עֲלֵ֣י is beyond ‘ă·lê מַבְלִ֥יגִיתִ֖י healing ; maḇ·lî·ḡî·ṯî לִבִּ֥י my heart lib·bî דַוָּֽי׃ [is] faint ḏaw·wāy עָלַ֖י within me . ‘ā·lay Jeremiah 8:19 הִנֵּה־ - hin·nêh- ק֞וֹל Listen qō·wl שַֽׁוְעַ֣ת to the cry šaw·‘aṯ בַּת־ of the daughter baṯ- עַמִּ֗י of my people ‘am·mî מַרְחַקִּ֔ים from a land far away mar·ḥaq·qîm מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ . . . : mê·’e·reṣ הַֽיהוָה֙ “ Is YHWH Yah·weh אֵ֣ין no ’ên בְּצִיּ֔וֹן longer in Zion ? bə·ṣî·yō·wn אִם־ Is her ’im- מַלְכָּ֖הּ King mal·kāh אֵ֣ין no longer ’ên בָּ֑הּ there ? ” bāh מַדּ֗וּעַ “ Why mad·dū·a‘ הִכְעִס֛וּנִי have they provoked Me to anger hiḵ·‘i·sū·nî בִּפְסִלֵיהֶ֖ם with their carved images , bip̄·si·lê·hem נֵכָֽר׃ with their worthless foreign nê·ḵār בְּהַבְלֵ֥י idols ? ” bə·haḇ·lê Jeremiah 8:20 קָצִ֖יר “ The harvest qā·ṣîr עָבַ֥ר has passed , ‘ā·ḇar קָ֑יִץ the summer qā·yiṣ כָּ֣לָה has ended , kā·lāh וַאֲנַ֖חְנוּ but we wa·’ă·naḥ·nū ל֥וֹא have not lō·w נוֹשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ been saved . ” nō·wō·šā·‘ə·nū Jeremiah 8:21 עַל־ For ‘al- שֶׁ֥בֶר the brokenness še·ḇer בַּת־ of the daughter baṯ- עַמִּ֖י of my people ‘am·mî הָשְׁבָּ֑רְתִּי I am crushed . hā·šə·bā·rə·tî קָדַ֕רְתִּי I mourn ; qā·ḏar·tî שַׁמָּ֖ה horror šam·māh הֶחֱזִקָֽתְנִי׃ has gripped me . he·ḥĕ·zi·qā·ṯə·nî Jeremiah 8:22 אֵ֣ין Is there no ’ên הַצֳרִי֙ balm ha·ṣo·rî בְּגִלְעָ֔ד in Gilead ? bə·ḡil·‘āḏ אִם־ . . . ’im- אֵ֣ין Is no ’ên רֹפֵ֖א physician rō·p̄ê שָׁ֑ם there ? šām מַדּ֙וּעַ֙ Why mad·dū·a‘ כִּ֗י then kî אֲרֻכַ֖ת has the health ’ă·ru·ḵaṯ בַּת־ of the daughter baṯ- עַמִּֽי׃ of my people ‘am·mî לֹ֣א not lō עָֽלְתָ֔ה been restored ? ‘ā·lə·ṯāh Jeremiah 9:1 מִֽי־ - mî- יִתֵּ֤ן Oh, that yit·tên רֹאשִׁי֙ my head rō·šî מַ֔יִם were a spring of water , ma·yim וְעֵינִ֖י and my eyes wə·‘ê·nî מְק֣וֹר a fountain mə·qō·wr דִּמְעָ֑ה of tears ! dim·‘āh וְאֶבְכֶּה֙ I would weep wə·’eḇ·keh יוֹמָ֣ם day yō·w·mām וָלַ֔יְלָה and night wā·lay·lāh אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ חַֽלְלֵ֥י over the slain ḥal·lê בַת־ daughter ḇaṯ- עַמִּֽי׃ of my people . ‘am·mî Jeremiah 9:2 מִֽי־ If only mî- יִתְּנֵ֣נִי . . . yit·tə·nê·nî אֹֽרְחִ֔ים I had a traveler’s ’ō·rə·ḥîm מְלוֹן֙ lodge mə·lō·wn בַמִּדְבָּ֗ר in the wilderness , ḇam·miḏ·bār וְאֶֽעֶזְבָה֙ I would abandon wə·’e·‘ez·ḇāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ-
