Jeremiah 5:23 הַזֶּה֙ But these haz·zeh וְלָעָ֤ם people wə·lā·‘ām הָיָ֔ה have hā·yāh סוֹרֵ֣ר stubborn sō·w·rêr וּמוֹרֶ֑ה and rebellious ū·mō·w·reh לֵ֖ב hearts . lêḇ סָ֖רוּ They have turned aside sā·rū וַיֵּלֵֽכוּ׃ and gone away . way·yê·lê·ḵū Jeremiah 5:24 וְלֹֽא־ They have not wə·lō- אָמְר֣וּ said ’ā·mə·rū בִלְבָבָ֗ם in their hearts , ḇil·ḇā·ḇām נִ֤ירָא ‘ Let us fear nî·rā נָא֙ . . . nā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū הַנֹּתֵ֗ן who gives han·nō·ṯên גֶּ֛שֶׁם the rains , ge·šem וְיֹרֶה both autumn wə·yō·rɛh וּמַלְק֖וֹשׁ and spring , ū·mal·qō·wōš בְּעִתּ֑וֹ in season , bə·‘it·tōw יִשְׁמָר־ who keeps yiš·mār- לָֽנוּ׃ for us lā·nū חֻקּ֥וֹת the appointed ḥuq·qō·wṯ שְׁבֻע֛וֹת weeks šə·ḇu·‘ō·wṯ קָצִ֖יר of harvest .’ qā·ṣîr Jeremiah 5:25 עֲוֺנוֹתֵיכֶ֖ם Your iniquities ‘ă·wō·nō·w·ṯê·ḵem הִטּוּ־ have diverted hiṭ·ṭū- אֵ֑לֶּה these from you ; ’êl·leh וְחַטֹּ֣אותֵיכֶ֔ם your sins wə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·w·ṯê·ḵem מָנְע֥וּ have deprived mā·nə·‘ū מִכֶּֽם׃ you mik·kem הַטּ֖וֹב of My bounty . haṭ·ṭō·wḇ Jeremiah 5:26 כִּי־ For kî- נִמְצְא֥וּ among nim·ṣə·’ū בְעַמִּ֖י My people ḇə·‘am·mî רְשָׁעִ֑ים are wicked men ; rə·šā·‘îm יָשׁוּר֙ they watch yā·šūr יְקוּשִׁ֔ים like fowlers yə·qū·šîm כְּשַׁ֣ךְ lying in wait ; kə·šaḵ הִצִּ֥יבוּ they set hiṣ·ṣî·ḇū מַשְׁחִ֖ית a trap maš·ḥîṯ יִלְכֹּֽדוּ׃ to catch yil·kō·ḏū אֲנָשִׁ֥ים men . ’ă·nā·šîm Jeremiah 5:27 כִּכְלוּב֙ Like cages kiḵ·lūḇ מָ֣לֵא full of mā·lê ע֔וֹף birds , ‘ō·wp̄ כֵּ֥ן so kên בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם their houses bāt·tê·hem מְלֵאִ֣ים are full of mə·lê·’îm מִרְמָ֑ה deceit . mir·māh עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֥ן . . . kên גָּדְל֖וּ they have become powerful gā·ḏə·lū וַֽיַּעֲשִֽׁירוּ׃ and rich . way·ya·‘ă·šî·rū Jeremiah 5:28 שָׁמְנ֣וּ They have grown fat šā·mə·nū עָשְׁת֗וּ and sleek , ‘ā·šə·ṯū גַּ֚ם and gam עָֽבְר֣וּ have excelled ‘ā·ḇə·rū דִבְרֵי־ in the deeds ḏiḇ·rê- רָ֔ע of the wicked . rā‘ לֹא־ They have not lō- דִּ֣ין taken up the cause dîn דָ֔נוּ . . . ḏā·nū דִּ֥ין . . . dîn יָת֖וֹם of the fatherless , yā·ṯō·wm וְיַצְלִ֑יחוּ that they might prosper ; wə·yaṣ·lî·ḥū לֹ֥א nor have they lō שָׁפָֽטוּ׃ defended šā·p̄ā·ṭū וּמִשְׁפַּ֥ט the rights ū·miš·paṭ אֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים of the needy . ’eḇ·yō·w·nîm Jeremiah 5:29 לֹֽא־ Should I not lō- אֶפְקֹ֖ד punish them ’ep̄·qōḏ הַֽעַל־ for ha·‘al- אֵ֥לֶּה these things? ” ’êl·leh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהֹוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh אִ֚ם “ ’im לֹ֥א Should I not lō תִתְנַקֵּ֖ם avenge ṯiṯ·naq·qêm
