לֹא־ will not do anything ; lō- רָעָ֔ה harm rā·‘āh וְלֹא־ will not wə·lō- תָב֤וֹא come ṯā·ḇō·w עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ to us ; ‘ā·lê·nū ל֥וֹא we will not lō·w נִרְאֶֽה׃ see nir·’eh וְחֶ֥רֶב sword wə·ḥe·reḇ וְרָעָ֖ב or famine . wə·rā·‘āḇ Jeremiah 5:13 וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙ The prophets wə·han·nə·ḇî·’îm יִֽהְי֣וּ are yih·yū לְר֔וּחַ but wind , lə·rū·aḥ וְהַדִּבֵּ֖ר for the word wə·had·dib·bêr אֵ֣ין [is] not ’ên בָּהֶ֑ם in them . bā·hem כֹּ֥ה So let [their own predictions] kōh יֵעָשֶׂ֖ה befall yê·‘ā·śeh לָהֶֽם׃ס them . ” lā·hem Jeremiah 5:14 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên כֹּֽה־ this is what kōh- יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י God ’ĕ·lō·hê צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַ֤ר says : ’ā·mar יַ֚עַן “ Because ya·‘an דַּבֶּרְכֶ֔ם you have spoken dab·ber·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הִנְנִ֣י . . . hin·nî הַדָּבָ֖ר word , had·dā·ḇār נֹתֵן֩ I will make nō·ṯên דְּבָרַ֨י My words də·ḇā·ray לְאֵ֗שׁ a fire lə·’êš בְּפִ֜יךָ in your mouth bə·p̄î·ḵā הַזֶּ֛ה and this haz·zeh וְהָעָ֥ם people wə·hā·‘ām עֵצִ֖ים the wood ‘ê·ṣîm וַאֲכָלָֽתַם׃ it consumes . wa·’ă·ḵā·lā·ṯam Jeremiah 5:15 הִנְנִ֣י Behold , hin·nî מֵבִיא֩ I am bringing mê·ḇî מִמֶּרְחָ֛ק a distant mim·mer·ḥāq גּ֧וֹי nation gō·w עֲלֵיכֶ֨ם against you , ‘ă·lê·ḵem בֵּ֥ית O house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , ” yiś·rā·’êl נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהֹוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh ה֗וּא “ It hū אֵיתָ֣ן is an established ’ê·ṯān גּ֣וֹי׀ nation , gō·w מֵעוֹלָם֙ an ancient mê·‘ō·w·lām ה֔וּא . . . hū גּ֤וֹי nation , gō·w גּ֚וֹי a nation gō·w לְשֹׁנ֔וֹ whose language lə·šō·nōw לֹא־ you do not lō- תֵדַ֣ע know ṯê·ḏa‘ מַה־ and whose speech mah- יְדַבֵּֽר׃ . . . yə·ḏab·bêr וְלֹ֥א you do not wə·lō תִשְׁמַ֖ע understand . ṯiš·ma‘ Jeremiah 5:16 אַשְׁפָּת֖וֹ Their quivers ’aš·pā·ṯōw פָּת֑וּחַ are like open pā·ṯū·aḥ כְּקֶ֣בֶר graves ; kə·qe·ḇer כֻּלָּ֖ם they are all kul·lām גִּבּוֹרִֽים׃ mighty men . gib·bō·w·rîm Jeremiah 5:17 וְאָכַ֨ל They will devour wə·’ā·ḵal קְצִֽירְךָ֜ your harvest qə·ṣî·rə·ḵā וְלַחְמֶ֗ךָ and food ; wə·laḥ·me·ḵā יֹאכְלוּ֙ they will consume yō·ḵə·lū בָּנֶ֣יךָ your sons bā·ne·ḵā וּבְנוֹתֶ֔יךָ and daughters ; ū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯe·ḵā יֹאכַ֤ל they will eat up yō·ḵal צֹאנְךָ֙ your flocks ṣō·nə·ḵā וּבְקָרֶ֔ךָ and herds ; ū·ḇə·qā·re·ḵā יֹאכַ֥ל they will feed on yō·ḵal גַּפְנְךָ֖ your vines gap̄·nə·ḵā וּתְאֵנָתֶ֑ךָ and fig trees . ū·ṯə·’ê·nā·ṯe·ḵā בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ With the sword be·ḥā·reḇ יְרֹשֵׁ֞שׁ they will destroy yə·rō·šêš מִבְצָרֶ֗יךָ the fortified miḇ·ṣā·re·ḵā עָרֵ֣י cities ‘ā·rê אֲשֶׁ֥ר in which ’ă·šer אַתָּ֛ה you ’at·tāh בּוֹטֵ֥חַ trust bō·w·ṭê·aḥ
