אַרְיֵ֜ה a lion ’ar·yêh מִיַּ֗עַר from the forest mî·ya·‘ar הִכָּ֨ם will strike them down , hik·kām זְאֵ֤ב a wolf zə·’êḇ עֲרָבוֹת֙ from the desert ‘ă·rā·ḇō·wṯ יְשָׁדְדֵ֔ם will ravage them . yə·šā·ḏə·ḏêm נָמֵ֤ר A leopard nā·mêr שֹׁקֵד֙ will lie in wait šō·qêḏ עַל־ near ‘al- עָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם their cities , ‘ā·rê·hem כָּל־ [and] everyone kāl- הַיּוֹצֵ֥א who ventures out hay·yō·w·ṣê מֵהֵ֖נָּה . . . mê·hên·nāh יִטָּרֵ֑ף will be torn to pieces . yiṭ·ṭā·rêp̄ כִּ֤י For kî פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֔ם their rebellious acts piš·‘ê·hem רַבּוּ֙ are many , rab·bū מְשֻׁבוֹתֵיהֶם׃ [and] their unfaithful deeds mə·šu·ḇō·ṯē·hɛm עָצְמ֖וּ are numerous . ‘ā·ṣə·mū Jeremiah 5:7 אֵ֤י “ Why ’ê לָזֹאת֙ . . . lā·zōṯ אֶסְלוֹחַ should I forgive you ? ʾɛs·lō·aḥ לָ֔ךְ . . . lå̄ḵ בָּנַ֣יִךְ Your children bā·na·yiḵ עֲזָב֔וּנִי have forsaken Me ‘ă·zā·ḇū·nî וַיִּשָּׁבְע֖וּ and sworn way·yiš·šā·ḇə·‘ū בְּלֹ֣א by [gods] that are not bə·lō אֱלֹהִ֑ים gods . ’ĕ·lō·hîm וָאַשְׂבִּ֤עַ I satisfied wā·’aś·bi·a‘ אוֹתָם֙ their needs , ’ō·w·ṯām וַיִּנְאָ֔פוּ yet they committed adultery way·yin·’ā·p̄ū יִתְגֹּדָֽדוּ׃ and assembled yiṯ·gō·ḏā·ḏū וּבֵ֥ית at the houses ū·ḇêṯ זוֹנָ֖ה of prostitutes . zō·w·nāh Jeremiah 5:8 הָי֑וּ They are hā·yū מְיֻזָּנִ֖ים well-fed , mə·yuz·zā·nîm מַשְׁכִּ֣ים lusty maš·kîm סוּסִ֥ים stallions , sū·sîm אִ֛ישׁ each ’îš יִצְהָֽלוּ׃ neighing yiṣ·hā·lū אֶל־ after ’el- רֵעֵ֖הוּ his neighbor’s rê·‘ê·hū אֵ֥שֶׁת wife . ’ê·šeṯ Jeremiah 5:9 לוֹא־ Should I not lō·w- אֶפְקֹ֖ד punish them ’ep̄·qōḏ הַֽעַל־ for ha·‘al- אֵ֥לֶּה these things ? ” ’êl·leh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהֹוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh וְאִם֙ “ wə·’im לֹ֥א Should I not lō תִתְנַקֵּ֖ם avenge ṯiṯ·naq·qêm נַפְשִֽׁי׃ס Myself nap̄·šî בְּג֣וֹי on such a nation bə·ḡō·w אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- כָּזֶ֔ה as this ? kā·zeh Jeremiah 5:10 עֲל֤וּ Go up ‘ă·lū בְשָׁרוֹתֶ֙יהָ֙ through her vineyards ḇə·šā·rō·w·ṯe·hā וְשַׁחֵ֔תוּ and ravage them , wə·ša·ḥê·ṯū אַֽל־ but do not ’al- וְכָלָ֖ה finish them off wə·ḵā·lāh תַּעֲשׂ֑וּ . . . . ta·‘ă·śū הָסִ֙ירוּ֙ Strip off hā·sî·rū נְטִ֣ישׁוֹתֶ֔יהָ her branches , nə·ṭî·šō·w·ṯe·hā כִּ֛י for kî הֵֽמָּה׃ they hêm·māh ל֥וֹא do not lō·w לַיהוָ֖ה belong to YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 5:11 כִּי֩ For kî בֵּ֧ית the house bêṯ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וּבֵ֥ית and the house ū·ḇêṯ יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh בָג֨וֹד have been utterly unfaithful ḇā·ḡō·wḏ בָּגְד֜וּ . . . bā·ḡə·ḏū בִּ֗י to Me , ” bî נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH .
