מִצְרַ֔יִם in Egypt miṣ·ra·yim בְּעֵינֵ֥י by bə·‘ê·nê פַרְעֹ֖ה Pharaoh’s p̄ar·‘ōh וּבְעֵינֵ֥י . . . ū·ḇə·‘ê·nê עַבְדֵֽי־ officials ‘aḇ·ḏê- הָעָֽם׃ס and by the people . hā·‘ām Exodus 11:4 מֹשֶׁ֔ה So Moses mō·šeh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר declared , way·yō·mer כֹּ֖ה “ This is what kōh יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar כַּחֲצֹ֣ת ‘ About midnight ka·ḥă·ṣōṯ הַלַּ֔יְלָה . . . hal·lay·lāh אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî יוֹצֵ֖א will go yō·w·ṣê בְּת֥וֹךְ throughout bə·ṯō·wḵ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ Egypt , miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 11:5 כָּל־ and every kāl- בְּכוֹר֮ firstborn son bə·ḵō·wr בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ מִצְרַיִם֒ of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וּמֵ֣ת will die , ū·mêṯ מִבְּכ֤וֹר from the firstborn mib·bə·ḵō·wr פַּרְעֹה֙ of Pharaoh par·‘ōh הַיֹּשֵׁ֣ב who sits hay·yō·šêḇ עַל־ on ‘al- כִּסְא֔וֹ his throne , kis·’ōw עַ֚ד to ‘aḏ בְּכ֣וֹר the firstborn bə·ḵō·wr הַשִּׁפְחָ֔ה of the servant girl haš·šip̄·ḥāh אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer אַחַ֣ר behind ’a·ḥar הָרֵחָ֑יִם the hand mill , hā·rê·ḥā·yim בְּכ֥וֹר as well as the firstborn bə·ḵō·wr וְכֹ֖ל of all wə·ḵōl בְּהֵמָֽה׃ the cattle . bə·hê·māh Exodus 11:6 גְדֹלָ֖ה Then a great ḡə·ḏō·lāh צְעָקָ֥ה cry ṣə·‘ā·qāh וְהָֽיְתָ֛ה will go out wə·hā·yə·ṯāh בְּכָל־ over all bə·ḵāl אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim אֲשֶׁ֤ר Such ’ă·šer כָּמֹ֙הוּ֙ [an outcry] kā·mō·hū לֹ֣א has never lō נִהְיָ֔תָה been heard before nih·yā·ṯāh לֹ֥א and will never lō וְכָמֹ֖הוּ [be heard] wə·ḵā·mō·hū תֹסִֽף׃ again . ṯō·sip̄ Exodus 11:7 וּלְכֹ֣ל׀ But among all ū·lə·ḵōl בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl לֹ֤א not lō כֶּ֙לֶב֙ even a dog ke·leḇ לְשֹׁנ֔וֹ . . . lə·šō·nōw יֶֽחֱרַץ־ will snarl ye·ḥĕ·raṣ- לְמֵאִ֖ישׁ at man lə·mê·’îš וְעַד־ . . . wə·‘aḏ- בְּהֵמָ֑ה or beast . ’ bə·hê·māh לְמַ֙עַן֙ Then lə·ma·‘an תֵּֽדְע֔וּן you will know tê·ḏə·‘ūn אֲשֶׁר֙ that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh יַפְלֶ֣ה makes a distinction yap̄·leh בֵּ֥ין between bên מִצְרַ֖יִם Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וּבֵ֥ין . . . ū·ḇên יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ and Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Exodus 11:8 כָל־ And all ḵāl אֵ֨לֶּה these ’êl·leh עֲבָדֶיךָ֩ officials ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā וְיָרְד֣וּ of yours will come wə·yā·rə·ḏū אֵלַ֜י - ’ê·lay וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲוּוּ־ and bow wə·hiš·ta·ḥăw·wū- לִ֣י before me , lī לֵאמֹ֗ר saying , lê·mōr צֵ֤א ‘ Go , ṣê אַתָּה֙ you ’at·tāh וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl הָעָ֣ם the people hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- בְּרַגְלֶ֔יךָ follow you ! ’ bə·raḡ·le·ḵā וְאַחֲרֵי־ After wə·’a·ḥă·rê- כֵ֖ן that , ḵên אֵצֵ֑א I will depart . ” ’ê·ṣê
