כִּ֣י For kî נַפְשִׁ֔י I nap̄·šî שָׁמַעְתִּי have heard šå̄·maʿ·tī ק֤וֹל the sound qō·wl שׁוֹפָר֙ of the horn , šō·w·p̄ār תְּרוּעַ֖ת the alarm tə·rū·‘aṯ מִלְחָמָֽה׃ of battle . mil·ḥā·māh Jeremiah 4:20 שֶׁ֤בֶר Disaster še·ḇer עַל־ after ‘al- שֶׁ֙בֶר֙ disaster še·ḇer נִקְרָ֔א is proclaimed , niq·rā כִּ֥י for kî כָּל־ the whole kāl- הָאָ֑רֶץ land hā·’ā·reṣ שֻׁדְּדָ֖ה is laid waste . šud·də·ḏāh אֹהָלַ֔י My tents ’ō·hā·lay שֻׁדְּד֣וּ are destroyed šud·də·ḏū פִּתְאֹם֙ in an instant , piṯ·’ōm יְרִיעֹתָֽי׃ my curtains yə·rî·‘ō·ṯāy רֶ֖גַע in a moment . re·ḡa‘ Jeremiah 4:21 עַד־ How long ‘aḏ- מָתַ֖י . . . mā·ṯay אֶרְאֶה־ must I see ’er·’eh- נֵּ֑ס the signal flag nês אֶשְׁמְעָ֖ה and hear ’eš·mə·‘āh ק֥וֹל the sound qō·wl שׁוֹפָֽר׃ס of the horn ? šō·w·p̄ār Jeremiah 4:22 כִּ֣י׀ “ For kî עַמִּ֗י My people ‘am·mî אוֹתִי֙ - ’ō·w·ṯî אֱוִ֣יל are fools ; ’ĕ·wîl לֹ֣א they have not lō יָדָ֔עוּ known Me . yā·ḏā·‘ū הֵ֔מָּה They hêm·māh סְכָלִים֙ are foolish sə·ḵā·lîm בָּנִ֤ים children , bā·nîm וְלֹ֥א without wə·lō נְבוֹנִ֖ים understanding . nə·ḇō·w·nîm הֵ֑מָּה They hêm·māh חֲכָמִ֥ים are skilled ḥă·ḵā·mîm הֵ֙מָּה֙ . . . hêm·māh לְהָרַ֔ע in doing evil , lə·hā·ra‘ יָדָֽעוּ׃ but they know yā·ḏā·‘ū לֹ֥א not lō וּלְהֵיטִ֖יב how to do good .” ū·lə·hê·ṭîḇ Jeremiah 4:23 רָאִ֙יתִי֙ I looked rā·’î·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֔רֶץ at the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ וְהִנֵּה־ . . . wə·hin·nêh- תֹ֖הוּ and it was formless ṯō·hū וָבֹ֑הוּ and void ; wā·ḇō·hū וְאֶל־ [I looked] to wə·’el- הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם the heavens , haš·šā·ma·yim וְאֵ֥ין and they [had] no wə·’ên אוֹרָֽם׃ light . ’ō·w·rām Jeremiah 4:24 רָאִ֙יתִי֙ I looked rā·’î·ṯî הֶֽהָרִ֔ים at the mountains , he·hā·rîm וְהִנֵּ֖ה and behold , wə·hin·nêh רֹעֲשִׁ֑ים they were quaking ; rō·‘ă·šîm וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl הַגְּבָע֖וֹת the hills hag·gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ הִתְקַלְקָֽלוּ׃ were swaying . hiṯ·qal·qā·lū Jeremiah 4:25 רָאִ֕יתִי I looked , rā·’î·ṯî וְהִנֵּ֖ה . . . wə·hin·nêh אֵ֣ין and no ’ên הָאָדָ֑ם man was left ; hā·’ā·ḏām וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl ע֥וֹף the birds ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם of the air haš·šā·ma·yim נָדָֽדוּ׃ had fled . nā·ḏā·ḏū Jeremiah 4:26 רָאִ֕יתִי I looked , rā·’î·ṯî וְהִנֵּ֥ה . . . wə·hin·nêh הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל and the fruitful land hak·kar·mel הַמִּדְבָּ֑ר was a desert . ham·miḏ·bār וְכָל־ All wə·ḵāl עָרָ֗יו its cities ‘ā·rāw נִתְּצוּ֙ were torn down nit·tə·ṣū מִפְּנֵ֣י before mip·pə·nê יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh
