גּוֹיִ֔ם of nations gō·w·yim נָסַ֖ע has set out . nā·sa‘ יָצָ֣א He has left yā·ṣā מִמְּקֹמ֑וֹ his lair mim·mə·qō·mōw לָשׂ֤וּם to lay lā·śūm לְשַׁמָּ֔ה waste lə·šam·māh אַרְצֵךְ֙ your land . ’ar·ṣêḵ עָרַ֥יִךְ Your cities ‘ā·ra·yiḵ מֵאֵ֥ין will be reduced mê·’ên תִּצֶּ֖ינָה to ruins tiṣ·ṣe·nāh יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ and lie uninhabited . yō·wō·šêḇ Jeremiah 4:8 עַל־ So ‘al- זֹ֛את . . . zōṯ חִגְר֥וּ put on ḥiḡ·rū שַׂקִּ֖ים sackcloth , śaq·qîm סִפְד֣וּ mourn sip̄·ḏū וְהֵילִ֑ילוּ and wail , wə·hê·lî·lū כִּ֥י for kî חֲר֥וֹן the fierce ḥă·rō·wn אַף־ anger ’ap̄- יְהֹוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh לֹא־ has not lō- שָׁ֛ב turned away šāḇ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃פ from us . ” mim·men·nū Jeremiah 4:9 וְהָיָ֤ה - wə·hā·yāh הַהוּא֙ “ In that ha·hū בַיּוֹם־ day , ” ḇay·yō·wm- נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ “ the king ham·me·leḵ וְלֵ֣ב . . . wə·lêḇ הַשָּׂרִ֑ים and officials haś·śā·rîm יֹאבַ֥ד will lose yō·ḇaḏ לֵב־ their courage . lêḇ- הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים The priests hak·kō·hă·nîm וְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ will tremble in fear , wə·nā·šam·mū וְהַנְּבִיאִ֖ים and the prophets wə·han·nə·ḇî·’îm יִתְמָֽהוּ׃ will be astounded .” yiṯ·mā·hū Jeremiah 4:10 וָאֹמַ֞ר Then I said , wā·’ō·mar אֲהָ֣הּ׀ “ Ah , ’ă·hāh אֲדֹנָ֣י Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֗ה YHWH , Yah·weh אָכֵן֩ how completely ’ā·ḵên הַשֵּׁ֨א You have deceived haš·šê הִשֵּׁ֜אתָ . . . hiš·šê·ṯā הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh לָעָ֤ם people lā·‘ām וְלִירוּשָׁלִַ֣ם and Jerusalem wə·lî·rū·šā·lim לֵאמֹ֔ר by saying , lê·mōr יִהְיֶ֣ה ‘ You will have yih·yeh לָכֶ֑ם lā·ḵem וְנָגְעָ֥ה - wə·nā·ḡə·‘āh שָׁל֖וֹם peace ,’ šā·lō·wm חֶ֖רֶב while a sword ḥe·reḇ עַד־ is at ‘aḏ- הַנָּֽפֶשׁ׃ our throats .” han·nā·p̄eš Jeremiah 4:11 הַהִ֗יא At that ha·hî בָּעֵ֣ת time bā·‘êṯ יֵאָמֵ֤ר it will be said yê·’ā·mêr הַזֶּה֙ to this haz·zeh לָֽעָם־ people lā·‘ām- וְלִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם and to Jerusalem , wə·lî·rū·šā·lim צַ֤ח “ A searing ṣaḥ ר֣וּחַ wind rū·aḥ שְׁפָיִים֙ from the barren heights šə·p̄ā·yîm בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר in the desert bam·miḏ·bār דֶּ֖רֶךְ blows toward de·reḵ בַּת־ the daughter baṯ- עַמִּ֑י of My people , ‘am·mî ל֥וֹא but not lō·w לִזְר֖וֹת to winnow liz·rō·wṯ וְל֥וֹא . . . wə·lō·w לְהָבַֽר׃ or to sift ; lə·hā·ḇar Jeremiah 4:12 ר֧וּחַ a wind rū·aḥ מָלֵ֛א too strong mā·lê מֵאֵ֖לֶּה for that mê·’êl·leh יָ֣בוֹא comes yā·ḇō·w לִ֑י from Me . lî עַתָּ֕ה Now ‘at·tāh אֲנִ֛י I ’ă·nî גַּם־ also gam- אֲדַבֵּ֥ר pronounce ’ă·ḏab·bêr מִשְׁפָּטִ֖ים judgments miš·pā·ṭîm אוֹתָֽם׃ against them . ” ’ō·w·ṯām
