Jeremiah 4:13 הִנֵּ֣ה׀ Behold , hin·nêh יַעֲלֶ֗ה he advances ya·‘ă·leh כַּעֲנָנִ֣ים like the clouds , ka·‘ă·nā·nîm מַרְכְּבוֹתָ֔יו his chariots mar·kə·ḇō·w·ṯāw וְכַסּוּפָה֙ like the whirlwind . wə·ḵas·sū·p̄āh סוּסָ֑יו His horses sū·sāw קַלּ֥וּ are swifter qal·lū מִנְּשָׁרִ֖ים than eagles . min·nə·šā·rîm א֥וֹי Woe ’ō·w לָ֖נוּ to us , lā·nū כִּ֥י for kî שֻׁדָּֽדְנוּ׃ we are ruined ! šud·dā·ḏə·nū Jeremiah 4:14 כַּבְּסִ֨י Wash kab·bə·sî מֵרָעָ֤ה the evil mê·rā·‘āh לִבֵּךְ֙ from your heart , lib·bêḵ יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם O Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim לְמַ֖עַן so that lə·ma·‘an תִּוָּשֵׁ֑עִי you may be saved . tiw·wā·šê·‘î עַד־ How long ‘aḏ- מָתַ֛י . . . mā·ṯay תָּלִ֥ין will you harbor tā·lîn אוֹנֵֽךְ׃ wicked ’ō·w·nêḵ מַחְשְׁב֥וֹת thoughts maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ בְּקִרְבֵּ֖ךְ within you ? bə·qir·bêḵ Jeremiah 4:15 כִּ֛י For kî ק֥וֹל a voice qō·wl מַגִּ֖יד resounds mag·gîḏ מִדָּ֑ן from Dan , mid·dān וּמַשְׁמִ֥יעַ proclaiming ū·maš·mî·a‘ אָ֖וֶן disaster ’ā·wen מֵהַ֥ר from the hills mê·har אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ of Ephraim . ’ep̄·rā·yim Jeremiah 4:16 הַזְכִּ֣ירוּ Warn haz·kî·rū לַגּוֹיִ֗ם the nations lag·gō·w·yim הִנֵּה֙ now ! hin·nêh הַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ Proclaim haš·mî·‘ū עַל־ to ‘al- יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem : yə·rū·šā·lim נֹצְרִ֥ים “ A besieging army nō·ṣə·rîm בָּאִ֖ים comes bā·’îm הַמֶּרְחָ֑ק from a distant ham·mer·ḥāq מֵאֶ֣רֶץ land ; mê·’e·reṣ וַֽיִּתְּנ֛וּ they raise way·yit·tə·nū קוֹלָֽם׃ their voices qō·w·lām עַל־ against ‘al- עָרֵ֥י the cities ‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh Jeremiah 4:17 מִסָּבִ֑יב They surround her mis·sā·ḇîḇ כְּשֹׁמְרֵ֣י like men guarding kə·šō·mə·rê שָׂדַ֔י a field , śā·ḏay הָי֥וּ . . . hā·yū עָלֶ֖יהָ . . . ‘ā·le·hā כִּי־ because kî- אֹתִ֥י - ’ō·ṯî מָרָ֖תָה she has rebelled against Me , ” mā·rā·ṯāh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 4:18 דַּרְכֵּךְ֙ “ Your ways dar·kêḵ וּמַ֣עֲלָלַ֔יִךְ and deeds ū·ma·‘ă·lā·la·yiḵ עָשׂ֥וֹ have brought ‘ā·śōw אֵ֖לֶּה this ’êl·leh לָ֑ךְ upon you . lāḵ זֹ֤את This zōṯ רָעָתֵךְ֙ is your punishment ; rā·‘ā·ṯêḵ מָ֔ר how bitter it is , mār כִּ֥י . . . kî כִּ֣י because kî נָגַ֖ע it pierces nā·ḡa‘ עַד־ to the ‘aḏ- לִבֵּֽךְ׃ס heart ! ” lib·bêḵ Jeremiah 4:19 מֵעַ֣י׀ My anguish , mê·‘ay מֵעַ֨י׀ my anguish ! mê·‘ay אָחוּלָה I writhe in pain ! ʾå̄·ḥū·lå̄h קִיר֥וֹת Oh, the pain qî·rō·wṯ לִבִּ֛י in my chest ! lib·bî לִבִּ֖י My heart lib·bî הֹֽמֶה־ pounds hō·meh- לִּ֥י within me ; lî לֹ֣א I cannot lō אַחֲרִ֑ישׁ be silent . ’a·ḥă·rîš
