יְהוָ֜ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֗י to me , ’ê·lay הֲ “ Have you seen hărā·’î·ṯā אֲשֶׁ֥ר what ’ă·šer מְשֻׁבָ֣ה faithless mə·šu·ḇāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עָשְׂתָ֖ה has done ? ‘ā·śə·ṯāh הִ֜יא She hî הֹלְכָ֨ה has gone up hō·lə·ḵāh עַל־ on ‘al- כָּל־ every kāl- גָּבֹ֗הַּ high gā·ḇō·ah וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הַ֣ר hill har תַּ֛חַת and under ta·ḥaṯ כָּל־ every kāl- רַעֲנָ֖ן green ra·‘ă·nān עֵ֥ץ tree ‘êṣ וַתִּזְנִי־ to prostitute herself wat·tiz·nî- שָֽׁם׃ there . šām Jeremiah 3:7 וָאֹמַ֗ר I thought wā·’ō·mar אַחֲרֵ֨י that after ’a·ḥă·rê עֲשׂוֹתָ֧הּ she had done ‘ă·śō·w·ṯāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- אֵ֛לֶּה these things , ’êl·leh תָּשׁ֖וּב she would return tā·šūḇ אֵלַ֥י to Me . ’ê·lay וְלֹא־ But she did not wə·lō- שָׁ֑בָה return , šā·ḇāh בָּגוֹדָ֥ה and her unfaithful bā·ḡō·w·ḏāh אֲחוֹתָ֖הּ sister ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯāh יְהוּדָֽה׃ Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַתֵּרֶאה saw it . wat·tē·rɛh Jeremiah 3:8 וָאֵ֗רֶא She saw wā·’ê·re כִּ֤י that kî עַל־ because ‘al- כָּל־ . . . kāl- אֹדוֹת֙ . . . ’ō·ḏō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer מְשֻׁבָ֣ה faithless mə·šu·ḇāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl נִֽאֲפָה֙ had committed adultery , ni·’ă·p̄āh וָאֶתֵּ֛ן I gave wā·’et·tên אֶת־ her ’eṯ- סֵ֥פֶר a certificate sê·p̄er כְּרִיתֻתֶ֖יהָ of divorce kə·rî·ṯu·ṯe·hā שִׁלַּחְתִּ֕יהָ [and] sent her away . šil·laḥ·tî·hā אֵלֶ֑יהָ Yet [that] ’ê·le·hā בֹּֽגֵדָ֤ה unfaithful bō·ḡê·ḏāh אֲחוֹתָ֔הּ sister ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯāh יְהוּדָה֙ Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וְלֹ֨א had no wə·lō יָֽרְאָ֜ה fear yā·rə·’āh הִֽיא׃ . . . hî וַתֵּ֖לֶךְ - wat·tê·leḵ וַתִּ֥זֶן and prostituted herself wat·ti·zen גַּם־ as well . gam- Jeremiah 3:9 וְהָיָה֙ Indifferent to wə·hā·yāh מִקֹּ֣ל . . . miq·qōl זְנוּתָ֔הּ her [own] infidelity , zə·nū·ṯāh וַתֶּחֱנַ֖ף [Israel] had defiled wat·te·ḥĕ·nap̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָ֑רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ וַתִּנְאַ֥ף and committed adultery wat·tin·’ap̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֶ֖בֶן with stones hā·’e·ḇen וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הָעֵֽץ׃ and trees . hā·‘êṣ Jeremiah 3:10 וְגַם־ Yet wə·ḡam- בְּכָל־ in spite of all bə·ḵāl זֹ֗את this , zōṯ בָּגוֹדָ֧ה her unfaithful bā·ḡō·w·ḏāh אֲחוֹתָ֛הּ sister ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯāh יְהוּדָ֖ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לֹא־ did not lō- שָׁ֨בָה return šā·ḇāh אֵלַ֜י to Me ’ê·lay בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לִבָּ֑הּ her heart , lib·bāh כִּ֥י but only kî אִם־ . . . ’im- בְּשֶׁ֖קֶר in pretense , ” bə·še·qer נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃פ YHWH .
