אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַרְצִ֔י My land , ’ar·ṣî שַׂמְתֶּ֖ם and made śam·tem וְנַחֲלָתִ֥י My inheritance wə·na·ḥă·lā·ṯî לְתוֹעֵבָֽה׃ detestable . lə·ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh Jeremiah 2:8 הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים The priests hak·kō·hă·nîm לֹ֤א did not lō אָֽמְרוּ֙ ask , ’ā·mə·rū אַיֵּ֣ה ‘ Where ’ay·yêh יְהוָ֔ה is YHWH ? ’ Yah·weh וְתֹפְשֵׂ֤י The experts wə·ṯō·p̄ə·śê הַתּוֹרָה֙ in the law hat·tō·w·rāh לֹ֣א no lō יְדָע֔וּנִי longer knew Me , yə·ḏā·‘ū·nî וְהָרֹעִ֖ים and the leaders wə·hā·rō·‘îm פָּ֣שְׁעוּ rebelled pā·šə·‘ū בִ֑י against Me . ḇî וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙ The prophets wə·han·nə·ḇî·’îm נִבְּא֣וּ prophesied nib·bə·’ū בַבַּ֔עַל by Baal ḇab·ba·‘al וְאַחֲרֵ֥י and followed wə·’a·ḥă·rê הָלָֽכוּ׃ . . . hā·lā·ḵū לֹֽא־ useless lō- יוֹעִ֖לוּ idols . yō·w·‘i·lū Jeremiah 2:9 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore , lā·ḵên אָרִ֥יב I will contend ’ā·rîḇ אִתְּכֶ֖ם with ’it·tə·ḵem עֹ֛ד you again , ‘ōḏ נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh אָרִֽיב׃ and I will bring a case ’ā·rîḇ וְאֶת־ against wə·’eṯ- בְּנֵ֥י your children’s bə·nê בְנֵיכֶ֖ם children . ḇə·nê·ḵem Jeremiah 2:10 כִּ֣י - kî עִבְר֞וּ Cross over ‘iḇ·rū אִיֵּ֤י to the coasts ’î·yê כִתִּיִּים֙ of Cyprus ḵit·tî·yîm וּרְא֔וּ and take a look ; ū·rə·’ū שִׁלְח֥וּ send šil·ḥū וְקֵדָ֛ר to Kedar wə·qê·ḏār וְהִֽתְבּוֹנְנ֖וּ and consider wə·hiṯ·bō·wn·nū מְאֹ֑ד carefully ; mə·’ōḏ וּרְא֕וּ see ū·rə·’ū הֵ֥ן if hên הָיְתָ֖ה there has ever been hā·yə·ṯāh כָּזֹֽאת׃ anything like this : kā·zōṯ Jeremiah 2:11 גּוֹי֙ Has a nation gō·w הַהֵימִ֥יר ever changed ha·hê·mîr אֱלֹהִ֔ים its gods , ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְהֵ֖מָּה though they [are] wə·hêm·māh לֹ֣א no lō אֱלֹהִ֑ים gods [at all] ? ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְעַמִּ֛י Yet My people wə·‘am·mî הֵמִ֥יר have exchanged hê·mîr כְּבוֹד֖וֹ their Glory kə·ḇō·w·ḏōw בְּל֥וֹא for useless bə·lō·w יוֹעִֽיל׃ idols . yō·w·‘îl Jeremiah 2:12 שֹׁ֥מּוּ Be stunned šōm·mū עַל־ by ‘al- זֹ֑את this , zōṯ שָׁמַ֖יִם O heavens ; šā·ma·yim וְשַׂעֲר֛וּ be shocked wə·śa·‘ă·rū מְאֹ֖ד and utterly mə·’ōḏ חָרְב֥וּ appalled , ” ḥā·rə·ḇū נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 2:13 כִּֽי־ “ For kî- עַמִּ֑י My people ‘am·mî אֹתִ֨י - ’ō·ṯî עָשָׂ֣ה have committed ‘ā·śāh שְׁתַּ֥יִם two šə·ta·yim רָע֖וֹת evils : rā·‘ō·wṯ עָזְב֜וּ They have forsaken Me , ‘ā·zə·ḇū מְק֣וֹר׀ the fountain mə·qō·wr חַיִּ֗ים of living ḥay·yîm מַ֣יִם water , ma·yim לַחְצֹ֤ב and they have dug laḥ·ṣōḇ לָהֶם֙ their own lā·hem בֹּאר֔וֹת cisterns — bō·rō·wṯ נִשְׁבָּרִ֔ים broken niš·bā·rîm בֹּארֹת֙ cisterns bō·rōṯ
