צ֣וֹם the fast ṣō·wm אֶבְחָרֵ֔הוּ I have chosen : ’eḇ·ḥā·rê·hū י֛וֹם a day yō·wm אָדָ֖ם for a man ’ā·ḏām עַנּ֥וֹת to deny ‘an·nō·wṯ נַפְשׁ֑וֹ himself , nap̄·šōw הֲלָכֹ֨ף to bow hă·lā·ḵōp̄ רֹאשׁ֗וֹ his head rō·šōw כְּאַגְמֹ֜ן like a reed , kə·’aḡ·mōn יַצִּ֔יעַ and to spread out yaṣ·ṣî·a‘ וְשַׂ֤ק sackcloth wə·śaq וָאֵ֙פֶר֙ and ashes ? wā·’ê·p̄er תִּקְרָא־ Will you call tiq·rā- הֲלָזֶה֙ this hă·lā·zeh צ֔וֹם a fast ṣō·wm וְי֥וֹם and a day wə·yō·wm רָצ֖וֹן acceptable rā·ṣō·wn לַיהוָֽה׃ to YHWH ? Yah·weh Isaiah 58:6 הֲל֣וֹא Isn’t hă·lō·w זֶה֮ this zeh צ֣וֹם the fast ṣō·wm אֶבְחָרֵהוּ֒ that I have chosen : ’eḇ·ḥā·rê·hū פַּתֵּ֙חַ֙ to break pat·tê·aḥ חַרְצֻבּ֣וֹת the chains ḥar·ṣub·bō·wṯ רֶ֔שַׁע of wickedness , re·ša‘ הַתֵּ֖ר to untie hat·têr אֲגֻדּ֣וֹת the cords ’ă·ḡud·dō·wṯ מוֹטָ֑ה of the yoke , mō·w·ṭāh וְשַׁלַּ֤ח to set wə·šal·laḥ רְצוּצִים֙ the oppressed rə·ṣū·ṣîm חָפְשִׁ֔ים free ḥā·p̄ə·šîm תְּנַתֵּֽקוּ׃ and tear off tə·nat·tê·qū וְכָל־ every wə·ḵāl מוֹטָ֖ה yoke ? mō·w·ṭāh Isaiah 58:7 הֲל֨וֹא Isn’t [it] hă·lō·w פָרֹ֤ס to share p̄ā·rōs לַחְמֶ֔ךָ your bread laḥ·me·ḵā לָֽרָעֵב֙ with the hungry , lā·rā·‘êḇ וַעֲנִיִּ֥ים to bring the poor wa·‘ă·nî·yîm מְרוּדִ֖ים and homeless mə·rū·ḏîm תָּ֣בִיא into tā·ḇî בָ֑יִת your home , ḇā·yiṯ וְכִסִּית֔וֹ to clothe wə·ḵis·sî·ṯōw עָרֹם֙ the naked ‘ā·rōm כִּֽי־ when kî- תִרְאֶ֤ה you see him , ṯir·’eh לֹ֥א and not lō תִתְעַלָּֽם׃ to turn away ṯiṯ·‘al·lām וּמִבְּשָׂרְךָ֖ from your own flesh and blood ? ū·mib·bə·śā·rə·ḵā Isaiah 58:8 אָ֣ז Then ’āz אוֹרֶ֔ךָ your light ’ō·w·re·ḵā יִבָּקַ֤ע will break forth yib·bā·qa‘ כַּשַּׁ֙חַר֙ like the dawn , kaš·ša·ḥar וַאֲרֻכָתְךָ֖ and your healing wa·’ă·ru·ḵā·ṯə·ḵā תִצְמָ֑ח will come ṯiṣ·māḥ מְהֵרָ֣ה quickly . mə·hê·rāh צִדְקֶ֔ךָ Your righteousness ṣiḏ·qe·ḵā וְהָלַ֤ךְ will go wə·hā·laḵ לְפָנֶ֙יךָ֙ before you , lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā כְּב֥וֹד and the glory kə·ḇō·wḏ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh יַאַסְפֶֽךָ׃ will be your rear guard . ya·’as·p̄e·ḵā Isaiah 58:9 אָ֤ז Then ’āz תִּקְרָא֙ you will call , tiq·rā וַיהוָ֣ה and YHWH Yah·weh יַעֲנֶ֔ה will answer ; ya·‘ă·neh תְּשַׁוַּ֖ע you will cry out , tə·šaw·wa‘ וְיֹאמַ֣ר and He will say , wə·yō·mar הִנֵּ֑נִי ‘ Here I am .’ hin·nê·nî אִם־ If ’im- תָּסִ֤יר you remove tā·sîr מוֹטָ֔ה the yoke mō·w·ṭāh מִתּֽוֹכְךָ֙ from your midst , mit·tō·wḵ·ḵā שְׁלַ֥ח the pointing šə·laḥ אֶצְבַּ֖ע of the finger ’eṣ·ba‘ אָֽוֶן׃ and malicious ’ā·wen וְדַבֶּר־ talk , wə·ḏab·ber- Isaiah 58:10 וְתָפֵ֤ק and if you give wə·ṯā·p̄êq נַפְשֶׁ֔ךָ yourself nap̄·še·ḵā לָֽרָעֵב֙ to the hungry lā·rā·‘êḇ תַּשְׂבִּ֑יעַ and satisfy taś·bî·a‘ נַעֲנָ֖ה the afflicted na·‘ă·nāh וְנֶ֥פֶשׁ soul , wə·ne·p̄eš אוֹרֶ֔ךָ then your light ’ō·w·re·ḵā וְזָרַ֤ח will go forth wə·zā·raḥ
