הַמַּחְצֶ֥בֶת to pieces , ham·maḥ·ṣe·ḇeṯ מְחוֹלֶ֥לֶת who pierced through mə·ḥō·w·le·leṯ תַּנִּֽין׃ the dragon ? tan·nîn Isaiah 51:10 הֲל֤וֹא Was it not hă·lō·w הִיא֙ . . . hî אַתְּ־ You ’at- הַמַּחֲרֶ֣בֶת who dried up ham·ma·ḥă·re·ḇeṯ יָ֔ם the sea , yām מֵ֖י the waters mê רַבָּ֑ה of the great rab·bāh תְּה֣וֹם deep , tə·hō·wm הַשָּׂ֙מָה֙ who made haś·śā·māh דֶּ֖רֶךְ a road de·reḵ מַֽעֲמַקֵּי־ in the depths ma·‘ă·maq·qê- יָ֔ם of the sea yām גְּאוּלִֽים׃ for the redeemed gə·’ū·lîm לַעֲבֹ֥ר to cross over ? la·‘ă·ḇōr Isaiah 51:11 וּפְדוּיֵ֨י So the redeemed ū·p̄ə·ḏū·yê יְהוָ֜ה of YHWH Yah·weh יְשׁוּב֗וּן will return yə·šū·ḇūn וּבָ֤אוּ and enter ū·ḇā·’ū צִיּוֹן֙ Zion ṣî·yō·wn בְּרִנָּ֔ה with singing , bə·rin·nāh עַל־ crowned ‘al- רֹאשָׁ֑ם . . . rō·šām עוֹלָ֖ם with everlasting ‘ō·w·lām וְשִׂמְחַ֥ת joy . wə·śim·ḥaṯ שָׂשׂ֤וֹן Gladness śā·śō·wn וְשִׂמְחָה֙ and joy wə·śim·ḥāh יַשִּׂיג֔וּן will overtake them , yaś·śî·ḡūn יָג֥וֹן and sorrow yā·ḡō·wn וַאֲנָחָֽה׃ס and sighing wa·’ă·nā·ḥāh נָ֖סוּ will flee . nā·sū Isaiah 51:12 אָנֹכִ֧י “ I , ’ā·nō·ḵî אָנֹכִ֛י even I , ’ā·nō·ḵî ה֖וּא am He hū מְנַחֶמְכֶ֑ם who comforts you . mə·na·ḥem·ḵem מִֽי־ Why mî- אַ֤תְּ should you ’at וַתִּֽירְאִי֙ be afraid wat·tî·rə·’î יָמ֔וּת of mortal yā·mūṯ מֵאֱנ֣וֹשׁ man , mê·’ĕ·nō·wōš וּמִבֶּן־ of a son ū·mib·ben- אָדָ֖ם of man ’ā·ḏām יִנָּתֵֽן׃ who withers yin·nā·ṯên חָצִ֥יר like grass ? ḥā·ṣîr Isaiah 51:13 וַתִּשְׁכַּ֞ח But you have forgotten wat·tiš·kaḥ יְהוָ֣ה YHWH , Yah·weh עֹשֶׂ֗ךָ your Maker , ‘ō·śe·ḵā נוֹטֶ֣ה who stretched out nō·w·ṭeh שָׁמַיִם֮ the heavens šā·ma·yim וְיֹסֵ֣ד and laid the foundations wə·yō·sêḏ אָרֶץ֒ of the earth . ’ā·reṣ וַתְּפַחֵ֨ד You live in terror wat·tə·p̄a·ḥêḏ תָּמִ֜יד vvv tā·mîḏ כָּל־ all day long kāl- הַיּ֗וֹם . . . hay·yō·wm מִפְּנֵי֙ because of mip·pə·nê חֲמַ֣ת the fury ḥă·maṯ הַמֵּצִ֔יק of the oppressor ham·mê·ṣîq כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר who ka·’ă·šer כּוֹנֵ֖ן is bent kō·w·nên לְהַשְׁחִ֑ית on destruction . lə·haš·ḥîṯ וְאַיֵּ֖ה But where wə·’ay·yêh חֲמַ֥ת is the fury ḥă·maṯ הַמֵּצִֽיק׃ of the oppressor ? ham·mê·ṣîq Isaiah 51:14 צֹעֶ֖ה The captive ṣō·‘eh מִהַ֥ר will soon mi·har לְהִפָּתֵ֑חַ be freed ; lə·hip·pā·ṯê·aḥ וְלֹא־ he will not wə·lō- יָמ֣וּת die yā·mūṯ לַשַּׁ֔חַת in the dungeon , laš·ša·ḥaṯ לַחְמֽוֹ׃ and his bread laḥ·mōw וְלֹ֥א will not wə·lō יֶחְסַ֖ר be lacking . yeḥ·sar Isaiah 51:15 וְאָֽנֹכִי֙ For I wə·’ā·nō·ḵî יְהוָ֣ה am YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā רֹגַ֣ע who stirs up rō·ḡa‘ הַיָּ֔ם the sea hay·yām גַּלָּ֑יו so that its waves gal·lāw וַיֶּהֱמ֖וּ roar — way·ye·hĕ·mū
