יְרִיבֵךְ֙ those who contend with you , yə·rî·ḇêḵ אָנֹכִ֥י and I ’ā·nō·ḵî אוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ will save ’ō·wō·šî·a‘ בָּנַ֖יִךְ your children . bā·na·yiḵ Isaiah 49:26 מוֹנַ֙יִךְ֙ I will make your oppressors mō·w·na·yiḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְהַאֲכַלְתִּ֤י eat wə·ha·’ă·ḵal·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּשָׂרָ֔ם their own flesh ; bə·śā·rām יִשְׁכָּר֑וּן they will be drunk yiš·kā·rūn דָּמָ֣ם on their own blood , dā·mām וְכֶעָסִ֖יס as with wine . wə·ḵe·‘ā·sîs כָל־ Then all ḵāl בָּשָׂ֗ר mankind bā·śār וְיָדְע֣וּ will know wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū כִּ֣י that kî אֲנִ֤י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh מֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֔ךְ am your Savior mō·wō·šî·‘êḵ וְגֹאֲלֵ֖ךְ and your Redeemer , wə·ḡō·’ă·lêḵ אֲבִ֥יר the Mighty ’ă·ḇîr יַעֲקֹֽב׃ס One of Jacob . ” ya·‘ă·qōḇ Isaiah 50:1 כֹּ֣ה׀ This is what kōh יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar אֵ֣י “ Where ’ê זֶ֠ה . . . zeh אִמְּכֶם֙ is your mother’s ’im·mə·ḵem סֵ֣פֶר certificate sê·p̄er כְּרִית֤וּת of divorce kə·rî·ṯūṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר with which ’ă·šer שִׁלַּחְתִּ֔יהָ I sent her away ? šil·laḥ·tî·hā א֚וֹ Or ’ōw מִ֣י to which mî מִנּוֹשַׁ֔י of My creditors min·nō·wō·šay אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- מָכַ֥רְתִּי did I sell you ? mā·ḵar·tî אֶתְכֶ֖ם - ’eṯ·ḵem ל֑וֹ lōw הֵ֤ן Look , hên נִמְכַּרְתֶּ֔ם you were sold nim·kar·tem בַּעֲוֺנֹֽתֵיכֶם֙ for your iniquities , ba·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·ḵem וּבְפִשְׁעֵיכֶ֖ם and for your transgressions ū·ḇə·p̄iš·‘ê·ḵem אִמְּכֶֽם׃ your mother ’im·mə·ḵem שֻׁלְּחָ֥ה was sent away . šul·lə·ḥāh Isaiah 50:2 מַדּ֨וּעַ Why mad·dū·a‘ וְאֵ֣ין was no wə·’ên אִ֗ישׁ one there ’îš בָּ֜אתִי when I arrived ? bā·ṯî וְאֵ֣ין Why did no one wə·’ên עוֹנֶה֒ answer ‘ō·w·neh קָרָֽאתִי֮ when I called ? qā·rā·ṯî יָדִי֙ Is My hand yā·ḏî הֲקָצ֨וֹר too short hă·qā·ṣō·wr קָצְרָ֤ה . . . qā·ṣə·rāh מִפְּד֔וּת to redeem you ? mip·pə·ḏūṯ וְאִם־ Or wə·’im- אֵֽין־ do I lack ’ên- בִּ֥י bî כֹ֖חַ the strength ḵō·aḥ לְהַצִּ֑יל to deliver you ? lə·haṣ·ṣîl הֵ֣ן Behold , hên בְּגַעֲרָתִ֞י My rebuke bə·ḡa·‘ă·rā·ṯî אַחֲרִ֣יב dries up ’a·ḥă·rîḇ יָ֗ם the sea ; yām נְהָרוֹת֙ I turn the rivers nə·hā·rō·wṯ אָשִׂ֤ים into ’ā·śîm מִדְבָּ֔ר a desert ; miḏ·bār דְּגָתָם֙ the fish də·ḡā·ṯām תִּבְאַ֤שׁ rot tiḇ·’aš מֵאֵ֣ין for lack mê·’ên מַ֔יִם of water ma·yim וְתָמֹ֖ת and die wə·ṯā·mōṯ בַּצָּמָֽא׃ of thirst . baṣ·ṣā·mā Isaiah 50:3 אַלְבִּ֥ישׁ I clothe ’al·bîš שָׁמַ֖יִם the heavens šā·ma·yim קַדְר֑וּת in black qaḏ·rūṯ אָשִׂ֥ים and make ’ā·śîm וְשַׂ֖ק sackcloth wə·śaq כְּסוּתָֽם׃ס their covering . ” kə·sū·ṯām Isaiah 50:4 אֲדֹנָ֣י The Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהֹוִ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh נָ֤תַן has given nā·ṯan לִי֙ Me lî לְשׁ֣וֹן the tongue lə·šō·wn
