אֵ֙לֶּה֙ these ’êl·leh עַל־ things to ‘al- לִבֵּ֔ךְ heart lib·bêḵ לֹ֥א . . . lō זָכַ֖רְתְּ or consider zā·ḵart אַחֲרִיתָֽהּ׃ס their outcome . ’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh Isaiah 47:8 וְעַתָּ֞ה So now wə·‘at·tāh שִׁמְעִי־ hear šim·‘î- זֹ֤את this , zōṯ עֲדִינָה֙ O lover of luxury ‘ă·ḏî·nāh הַיּוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת who sits securely hay·yō·wō·še·ḇeṯ לָבֶ֔טַח . . . , lā·ḇe·ṭaḥ הָאֹֽמְרָה֙ who says hā·’ō·mə·rāh בִּלְבָ֔בָהּ to herself , bil·ḇā·ḇāh אֲנִ֖י ‘ I [am] , ’ă·nî וְאַפְסִ֣י and there is none wə·’ap̄·sî ע֑וֹד besides me . ‘ō·wḏ לֹ֤א I will never lō אֵשֵׁב֙ . . . ’ê·šêḇ אַלְמָנָ֔ה be a widow ’al·mā·nāh וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō אֵדַ֖ע or know ’ê·ḏa‘ שְׁכֽוֹל׃ the loss of children . ’ šə·ḵō·wl Isaiah 47:9 אֵ֥לֶּה These ’êl·leh שְׁתֵּי־ two [things] šə·tê- וְתָבֹאנָה֩ will overtake wə·ṯā·ḇō·nāh לָּ֨ךְ you lāḵ רֶ֛גַע in a moment , re·ḡa‘ אֶחָ֖ד in a single ’e·ḥāḏ בְּי֥וֹם day : bə·yō·wm שְׁכ֣וֹל loss of children , šə·ḵō·wl וְאַלְמֹ֑ן and widowhood . wə·’al·mōn בָּ֣אוּ They will come bā·’ū עָלַ֔יִךְ upon you ‘ā·la·yiḵ כְּתֻמָּם֙ in full measure , kə·ṯum·mām בְּרֹ֣ב in spite of your many bə·rōḇ כְּשָׁפַ֔יִךְ sorceries kə·šā·p̄a·yiḵ בְּעָצְמַ֥ת and the potency bə·‘ā·ṣə·maṯ חֲבָרַ֖יִךְ of your spells ḥă·ḇā·ra·yiḵ מְאֹֽד׃ . . . . mə·’ōḏ Isaiah 47:10 וַתִּבְטְחִ֣י You were secure wat·tiḇ·ṭə·ḥî בְרָעָתֵ֗ךְ in your wickedness ; ḇə·rā·‘ā·ṯêḵ אָמַרְתְּ֙ you said , ’ā·mart אֵ֣ין ‘ No ’ên רֹאָ֔נִי one sees me . ’ rō·’ā·nî חָכְמָתֵ֥ךְ Your wisdom ḥā·ḵə·mā·ṯêḵ וְדַעְתֵּ֖ךְ and knowledge wə·ḏa‘·têḵ הִ֣יא . . . hî שׁוֹבְבָ֑תֶךְ led you astray ; šō·wḇ·ḇā·ṯeḵ וַתֹּאמְרִ֣י you told wat·tō·mə·rî בְלִבֵּ֔ךְ yourself , ḇə·lib·bêḵ אֲנִ֖י ‘ I [am] , ’ă·nî וְאַפְסִ֥י and there is none wə·’ap̄·sî עֽוֹד׃ besides me . ’ ‘ō·wḏ Isaiah 47:11 רָעָ֗ה But disaster rā·‘āh וּבָ֧א will come ū·ḇā עָלַ֣יִךְ upon you ; ‘ā·la·yiḵ לֹ֤א you will not lō תֵדְעִי֙ know ṯê·ḏə·‘î שַׁחְרָ֔הּ how to charm it away . šaḥ·rāh הֹוָ֔ה A calamity hō·wāh וְתִפֹּ֤ל will befall wə·ṯip·pōl עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ you ‘ā·la·yiḵ לֹ֥א that you will be unable lō תוּכְלִ֖י . . . ṯū·ḵə·lî כַּפְּרָ֑הּ to ward off . kap·pə·rāh שׁוֹאָ֖ה Devastation šō·w·’āh וְתָבֹ֨א will happen wə·ṯā·ḇō עָלַ֧יִךְ to you ‘ā·la·yiḵ פִּתְאֹ֛ם suddenly piṯ·’ōm לֹ֥א and unexpectedly lō תֵדָֽעִי׃ . . . . ṯê·ḏā·‘î Isaiah 47:12 עִמְדִי־ So take your stand ‘im·ḏî- נָ֤א . . . nā בַחֲבָרַ֙יִךְ֙ with your spells ḇa·ḥă·ḇā·ra·yiḵ וּבְרֹ֣ב and with your many ū·ḇə·rōḇ כְּשָׁפַ֔יִךְ sorceries , kə·šā·p̄a·yiḵ בַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר with which ba·’ă·šer יָגַ֖עַתְּ you have wearied yourself yā·ḡa·‘at מִנְּעוּרָ֑יִךְ from your youth . min·nə·‘ū·rā·yiḵ אוּלַ֛י Perhaps ’ū·lay תּוּכְלִ֥י you will tū·ḵə·lî הוֹעִ֖יל succeed ; hō·w·‘îl אוּלַ֥י perhaps ’ū·lay תַּעֲרֽוֹצִי׃ you will inspire terror ! ta·‘ă·rō·w·ṣî
