לַֽיהוָ֖ה to YHWH Yah·weh יַגִּֽידוּ׃ and declare yag·gî·ḏū וּתְהִלָּת֖וֹ His praise ū·ṯə·hil·lā·ṯōw בָּאִיִּ֥ים in the islands . bā·’î·yîm Isaiah 42:13 יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יֵצֵ֔א goes forth yê·ṣê כַּגִּבּ֣וֹר like a mighty one ; kag·gib·bō·wr יָעִ֣יר He stirs up yā·‘îr קִנְאָ֑ה His zeal qin·’āh כְּאִ֥ישׁ like a warrior kə·’îš מִלְחָמ֖וֹת . . . . mil·ḥā·mō·wṯ יָרִ֙יעַ֙ He shouts ; yā·rî·a‘ אַף־ yes , ’ap̄- יַצְרִ֔יחַ He roars yaṣ·rî·aḥ יִתְגַּבָּֽר׃ס in triumph yiṯ·gab·bār עַל־ over ‘al- אֹיְבָ֖יו His enemies : ’ō·yə·ḇāw Isaiah 42:14 הֶחֱשֵׁ֙יתִי֙ “ I have kept silent he·ḥĕ·šê·ṯî מֵֽעוֹלָ֔ם from ages past ; mê·‘ō·w·lām אַחֲרִ֖ישׁ I have remained quiet ’a·ḥă·rîš אֶתְאַפָּ֑ק and restrained . ’eṯ·’ap·pāq אֶפְעֶ֔ה But now I will groan ’ep̄·‘eh כַּיּוֹלֵדָ֣ה like a woman in labor ; kay·yō·w·lê·ḏāh יָֽחַד׃ I will at once yā·ḥaḏ אֶשֹּׁ֥ם gasp ’eš·šōm וְאֶשְׁאַ֖ף and pant . wə·’eš·’ap̄ Isaiah 42:15 אַחֲרִ֤יב I will lay waste ’a·ḥă·rîḇ הָרִים֙ the mountains hā·rîm וּגְבָע֔וֹת and hills ū·ḡə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ אוֹבִ֑ישׁ and dry up ’ō·w·ḇîš וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl עֶשְׂבָּ֖ם their vegetation . ‘eś·bām וְשַׂמְתִּ֤י I will turn wə·śam·tî נְהָרוֹת֙ the rivers nə·hā·rō·wṯ לָֽאִיִּ֔ים into dry land lā·’î·yîm אוֹבִֽישׁ׃ and drain ’ō·w·ḇîš וַאֲגַמִּ֖ים the marshes . wa·’ă·ḡam·mîm Isaiah 42:16 וְהוֹלַכְתִּ֣י I will lead wə·hō·w·laḵ·tî עִוְרִ֗ים the blind ‘iw·rîm בְּדֶ֙רֶךְ֙ by a way bə·ḏe·reḵ לֹ֣א they did not lō יָדָ֔עוּ know ; yā·ḏā·‘ū אַדְרִיכֵ֑ם I will guide them ’aḏ·rî·ḵêm לֹֽא־ on unfamiliar lō- יָדְע֖וּ . . . yā·ḏə·‘ū בִּנְתִיב֥וֹת paths . bin·ṯî·ḇō·wṯ אָשִׂים֩ I will turn ’ā·śîm מַחְשָׁ֨ךְ darkness maḥ·šāḵ לָא֗וֹר into light lā·’ō·wr לִפְנֵיהֶ֜ם before them lip̄·nê·hem וּמַֽעֲקַשִּׁים֙ and rough places ū·ma·‘ă·qaš·šîm לְמִישׁ֔וֹר into level ground . lə·mî·šō·wr אֵ֚לֶּה These ’êl·leh הַדְּבָרִ֔ים things had·də·ḇā·rîm עֲשִׂיתִ֖ם I will do for them , ‘ă·śî·ṯim וְלֹ֥א and I will not wə·lō עֲזַבְתִּֽים׃ forsake them . ‘ă·zaḇ·tîm Isaiah 42:17 הַבֹּטְחִ֖ים But those who trust hab·bō·ṭə·ḥîm בַּפָּ֑סֶל in idols bap·pā·sel הָאֹמְרִ֥ים and say hā·’ō·mə·rîm לְמַסֵּכָ֖ה to molten images , lə·mas·sê·ḵāh אַתֶּ֥ם ‘ You ’at·tem אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ס are our gods ! ’ ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū נָסֹ֤גוּ will be turned nā·sō·ḡū אָחוֹר֙ back ’ā·ḥō·wr בֹ֔שֶׁת in utter ḇō·šeṯ יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ shame . yê·ḇō·šū Isaiah 42:18 שְׁמָ֑עוּ Listen , šə·mā·‘ū הַחֵרְשִׁ֖ים you deaf [ones] ; ha·ḥê·rə·šîm הַבִּ֥יטוּ look , hab·bî·ṭū וְהַעִוְרִ֖ים you blind [ones] , wə·ha·‘iw·rîm לִרְאֽוֹת׃ that you may see ! lir·’ō·wṯ Isaiah 42:19 מִ֤י Who mî עִוֵּר֙ is blind ‘iw·wêr כִּ֣י but kî אִם־ . . . ’im- עַבְדִּ֔י My servant , ‘aḇ·dî וְחֵרֵ֖שׁ or deaf wə·ḥê·rêš כְּמַלְאָכִ֣י like the messenger kə·mal·’ā·ḵî
