וְנ֣וֹטֵיהֶ֔ם and stretched them out , wə·nō·w·ṭê·hem רֹקַ֥ע who spread out rō·qa‘ הָאָ֖רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ וְצֶאֱצָאֶ֑יהָ and its offspring , wə·ṣe·’ĕ·ṣā·’e·hā נֹתֵ֤ן who gives nō·ṯên נְשָׁמָה֙ breath nə·šā·māh לָעָ֣ם to the people lā·‘ām עָלֶ֔יהָ on it ‘ā·le·hā וְר֖וּחַ and life wə·rū·aḥ לַהֹלְכִ֥ים to those who walk la·hō·lə·ḵîm בָּֽהּ׃ in it : bāh Isaiah 42:6 אֲנִ֧י “ I , ’ă·nî יְהוָ֛ה YHWH , Yah·weh קְרָאתִ֥יךָֽ have called you qə·rā·ṯî·ḵā בְצֶ֖דֶק for a righteous purpose , ḇə·ṣe·ḏeq וְאַחְזֵ֣ק and I will take hold wə·’aḥ·zêq בְּיָדֶ֑ךָ of your hand . bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā וְאֶצָּרְךָ֗ I will keep you wə·’eṣ·ṣā·rə·ḵā וְאֶתֶּנְךָ֛ and appoint you wə·’et·ten·ḵā לִבְרִ֥ית to be a covenant liḇ·rîṯ עָ֖ם for the people ‘ām לְא֥וֹר and a light lə·’ō·wr גּוֹיִֽם׃ to the nations , gō·w·yim Isaiah 42:7 לִפְקֹ֖חַ to open lip̄·qō·aḥ עֵינַ֣יִם the eyes ‘ê·na·yim עִוְר֑וֹת of the blind , ‘iw·rō·wṯ לְהוֹצִ֤יא to bring lə·hō·w·ṣî אַסִּ֔יר prisoners ’as·sîr מִמַּסְגֵּר֙ out of the dungeon mim·mas·gêr יֹ֥שְׁבֵי and those sitting yō·šə·ḇê חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ in darkness ḥō·šeḵ כֶּ֖לֶא out from the prison ke·le מִבֵּ֥ית house . mib·bêṯ Isaiah 42:8 אֲנִ֥י I ’ă·nî יְהוָ֖ה am YHWH ; Yah·weh ה֣וּא that hū שְׁמִ֑י is My name ! šə·mî לֹֽא־ I will not lō- אֶתֵּ֔ן yield ’et·tên וּכְבוֹדִי֙ My glory ū·ḵə·ḇō·w·ḏî לְאַחֵ֣ר to another lə·’a·ḥêr וּתְהִלָּתִ֖י or My praise ū·ṯə·hil·lā·ṯî לַפְּסִילִֽים׃ to idols . lap·pə·sî·lîm Isaiah 42:9 הִנֵּה־ Behold , hin·nêh- הָרִֽאשֹׁנ֖וֹת the former things hā·ri·šō·nō·wṯ בָ֑אוּ have happened , ḇā·’ū אֲנִ֣י and now I ’ă·nî מַגִּ֔יד declare mag·gîḏ וַֽחֲדָשׁוֹת֙ new things . wa·ḥă·ḏā·šō·wṯ בְּטֶ֥רֶם Before bə·ṭe·rem תִּצְמַ֖חְנָה they spring forth tiṣ·maḥ·nāh אַשְׁמִ֥יע I proclaim them ʾaš·mīʿ אֶתְכֶֽם׃פ to you . ” ’eṯ·ḵem Isaiah 42:10 שִׁ֤ירוּ Sing šî·rū לַֽיהוָה֙ to YHWH Yah·weh חָדָ֔שׁ a new ḥā·ḏāš שִׁ֣יר song — šîr תְּהִלָּת֖וֹ His praise tə·hil·lā·ṯōw מִקְצֵ֣ה from the ends miq·ṣêh הָאָ֑רֶץ of the earth — hā·’ā·reṣ יוֹרְדֵ֤י you who go down yō·wr·ḏê הַיָּם֙ to the sea , hay·yām וּמְלֹא֔וֹ and all that is in it , ū·mə·lō·’ōw אִיִּ֖ים you islands , ’î·yîm וְיֹשְׁבֵיהֶֽם׃ and all who dwell in them . wə·yō·šə·ḇê·hem Isaiah 42:11 מִדְבָּר֙ Let the desert miḏ·bār וְעָרָ֔יו and its cities wə·‘ā·rāw יִשְׂא֤וּ raise their voices ; yiś·’ū חֲצֵרִ֖ים [let] the villages ḥă·ṣê·rîm תֵּשֵׁ֣ב tê·šêḇ קֵדָ֑ר of Kedar [cry aloud] . qê·ḏār יֹ֣שְׁבֵי Let the people yō·šə·ḇê סֶ֔לַע of Sela se·la‘ יָרֹ֙נּוּ֙ sing for joy ; yā·rōn·nū יִצְוָֽחוּ׃ let them cry out yiṣ·wā·ḥū מֵרֹ֥אשׁ from the mountaintops mê·rōš הָרִ֖ים . . . . hā·rîm Isaiah 42:12 יָשִׂ֥ימוּ Let them give yā·śî·mū כָּב֑וֹד glory kā·ḇō·wḏ
