שְׁנוֹתָֽי׃ of my years . ” šə·nō·w·ṯāy Isaiah 38:11 אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ I said , ’ā·mar·tî לֹא־ “ I will never again lō- אֶרְאֶ֣ה see ’er·’eh יָ֔הּ YHWH , yāh יָ֖הּ [even] YHWH , yāh בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ הַחַיִּ֑ים of the living ; ha·ḥay·yîm לֹא־ I will no lō- ע֖וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ אַבִּ֥יט look on ’ab·bîṭ אָדָ֛ם mankind ’ā·ḏām עִם־ with ‘im- י֥וֹשְׁבֵי those who dwell yō·wō·šə·ḇê חָֽדֶל׃ in this world . ḥā·ḏel Isaiah 38:12 דּוֹרִ֗י My dwelling dō·w·rî נִסַּ֧ע has been picked up nis·sa‘ וְנִגְלָ֛ה and removed wə·niḡ·lāh מִנִּ֖י from me min·nî רֹעִ֑י like a shepherd’s rō·‘î כְּאֹ֣הֶל tent . kə·’ō·hel קִפַּ֨דְתִּי I have rolled up qip·paḏ·tî חַיַּי֙ my life ḥay·yay כָאֹרֵ֤ג like a weaver ; ḵā·’ō·rêḡ יְבַצְּעֵ֔נִי He cuts me off yə·ḇaṣ·ṣə·‘ê·nî מִדַּלָּ֣ה from the loom ; mid·dal·lāh מִיּ֥וֹם from day mî·yō·wm עַד־ until ‘aḏ- לַ֖יְלָה night lay·lāh תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃ You make an end of me . taš·lî·mê·nî Isaiah 38:13 שִׁוִּ֤יתִי I composed myself šiw·wî·ṯî עַד־ until ‘aḏ- בֹּ֙קֶר֙ the morning . bō·qer כָּֽאֲרִ֔י Like a lion kā·’ă·rî כֵּ֥ן . . . kên יְשַׁבֵּ֖ר He breaks yə·šab·bêr כָּל־ all kāl- עַצְמוֹתָ֑י my bones ; ‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯāy מִיּ֥וֹם from day mî·yō·wm עַד־ until ‘aḏ- לַ֖יְלָה night lay·lāh תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃ You make an end of me . taš·lî·mê·nî Isaiah 38:14 אֲצַפְצֵ֔ף I chirp ’ă·ṣap̄·ṣêp̄ כְּס֤וּס like a swallow kə·sūs עָגוּר֙ or crane ‘ā·ḡūr כֵּ֣ן . . . ; kên אֶהְגֶּ֖ה I moan ’eh·geh כַּיּוֹנָ֑ה like a dove . kay·yō·w·nāh עֵינַי֙ My eyes ‘ê·nay דַּלּ֤וּ grow weak dal·lū לַמָּר֔וֹם [as I look] upward . lam·mā·rō·wm אֲדֹנָ֖י O Lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy עָֽשְׁקָה־ I am oppressed ‘ā·šə·qāh- לִּ֥י ; lî עָרְבֵֽנִי׃ be my security . ” ‘ā·rə·ḇê·nî Isaiah 38:15 מָֽה־ What māh- אֲדַבֵּ֥ר can I say ? ’ă·ḏab·bêr וְאָֽמַר־ He has spoken wə·’ā·mar- לִ֖י to me , lî וְה֣וּא and He Himself wə·hū עָשָׂ֑ה has done this . ‘ā·śāh אֶדַּדֶּ֥ה I will walk slowly ’ed·dad·deh כָל־ all ḵāl שְׁנוֹתַ֖י my years šə·nō·w·ṯay עַל־ because of ‘al- מַ֥ר the anguish mar נַפְשִֽׁי׃ of my soul . nap̄·šî Isaiah 38:16 אֲדֹנָ֖י O Lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם by [such things] ‘ă·lê·hem יִֽחְי֑וּ men live , yiḥ·yū וּלְכָל־ and in all ū·lə·ḵāl- בָּהֶן֙ [of them] bā·hen רוּחִ֔י my spirit rū·ḥî חַיֵּ֣י [finds] life . ḥay·yê וְתַחֲלִימֵ֖נִי You have restored me to health wə·ṯa·ḥă·lî·mê·nî וְהַחֲיֵֽנִי׃ and have let me live . wə·ha·ḥă·yê·nî Isaiah 38:17 הִנֵּ֥ה Surely hin·nêh לְשָׁל֖וֹם for my own welfare lə·šā·lō·wm מַר־ I had such great mar-
