Isaiah 38:5 הָל֞וֹךְ “ Go hā·lō·wḵ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ and tell wə·’ā·mar·tā אֶל־ . . . ’el- חִזְקִיָּ֗הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū כֹּֽה־ that this is what kōh- יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵי֙ the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אָבִ֔יךָ of your father ’ā·ḇî·ḵā דָּוִ֣ד David , dā·wiḏ אָמַ֤ר says : ’ā·mar שָׁמַ֙עְתִּי֙ ‘ I have heard šā·ma‘·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תְּפִלָּתֶ֔ךָ your prayer ; tə·p̄il·lā·ṯe·ḵā רָאִ֖יתִי I have seen rā·’î·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דִּמְעָתֶ֑ךָ your tears . dim·‘ā·ṯe·ḵā הִנְנִי֙ Behold , hin·nî יוֹסִ֣ף I will add yō·w·sip̄ חֲמֵ֥שׁ fifteen ḥă·mêš עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָֽה׃ years šā·nāh עַל־ to ‘al- יָמֶ֔יךָ your life . yā·me·ḵā Isaiah 38:6 אַצִּ֣ילְךָ֔ And I will deliver you ’aṣ·ṣî·lə·ḵā וְאֵ֖ת - wə·’êṯ הַזֹּ֑את and this haz·zōṯ הָעִ֣יר city hā·‘îr וּמִכַּ֤ף from the hand ū·mik·kap̄ מֶֽלֶךְ־ of the king me·leḵ- אַשּׁוּר֙ of Assyria . ’aš·šūr וְגַנּוֹתִ֖י I will defend wə·ḡan·nō·w·ṯî עַל־ . . . ‘al- הַזֹּֽאת׃ this haz·zōṯ הָעִ֥יר city . hā·‘îr Isaiah 38:7 וְזֶה־ This wə·zeh- הָא֖וֹת will be a sign hā·’ō·wṯ לְּךָ֥ to you lə·ḵā מֵאֵ֣ת from mê·’êṯ יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁר֙ that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה He Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה will do ya·‘ă·śeh הַדָּבָ֥ר what had·dā·ḇār הַזֶּ֖ה . . . haz·zeh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer דִּבֵּֽר׃ He has promised : dib·bêr Isaiah 38:8 הִנְנִ֣י - hin·nî מֵשִׁ֣יב I will make mê·šîḇ בַּשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ the sun’s baš·še·meš צֵ֣ל shadow ṣêl אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יָרְדָה֩ falls yā·rə·ḏāh בְמַעֲל֨וֹת ḇə·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ הַֽמַּעֲל֡וֹת on the stairway ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ אָחָ֥ז of Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲחֹרַנִּ֖ית go back ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ עֶ֣שֶׂר ten ‘e·śer מַעֲל֑וֹת steps . ’” ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ So the sunlight haš·še·meš וַתָּ֤שָׁב went back wat·tā·šāḇ עֶ֣שֶׂר the ten ‘e·śer מַעֲל֔וֹת . . . ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ בַּֽמַּעֲל֖וֹת steps bam·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer יָרָֽדָה׃ס it had descended . yā·rā·ḏāh Isaiah 38:9 מִכְתָּ֖ב [This is] a writing miḵ·tāḇ לְחִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ by Hezekiah lə·ḥiz·qî·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh בַּחֲלֹת֕וֹ after his illness ba·ḥă·lō·ṯōw וַיְחִ֖י and recovery way·ḥî מֵחָלְיֽוֹ׃ . . . : mê·ḥā·lə·yōw Isaiah 38:10 אֲנִ֣י I ’ă·nî אָמַ֗רְתִּי said , ’ā·mar·tî בִּדְמִ֥י “ In the prime biḏ·mî יָמַ֛י of my life yā·may אֵלֵ֖כָה I must go ’ê·lê·ḵāh בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֣י through the gates bə·ša·‘ă·rê שְׁא֑וֹל of Sheol šə·’ō·wl פֻּקַּ֖דְתִּי [and] be deprived puq·qaḏ·tî יֶ֥תֶר of the remainder ye·ṯer
