הֶחֱרִימָ֖ם He will devote them to destruction ; he·ḥĕ·rî·mām נְתָנָ֥ם He will give them over nə·ṯā·nām לַטָּֽבַח׃ to slaughter . laṭ·ṭā·ḇaḥ Isaiah 34:3 וְחַלְלֵיהֶ֣ם Their slain wə·ḥal·lê·hem יֻשְׁלָ֔כוּ will be left unburied , yuš·lā·ḵū בָאְשָׁ֑ם and the stench ḇā·’ə·šām וּפִגְרֵיהֶ֖ם of their corpses ū·p̄iḡ·rê·hem יַעֲלֶ֣ה will rise ; ya·‘ă·leh הָרִ֖ים the mountains hā·rîm וְנָמַ֥סּוּ will flow wə·nā·mas·sū מִדָּמָֽם׃ with their blood . mid·dā·mām Isaiah 34:4 כָּל־ All kāl- צְבָ֣א the stars ṣə·ḇā הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וְנָמַ֙קּוּ֙ will be dissolved . wə·nā·maq·qū הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם The skies haš·šā·mā·yim וְנָגֹ֥לּוּ will be rolled up wə·nā·ḡōl·lū כַסֵּ֖פֶר like a scroll , ḵas·sê·p̄er צְבָאָ֣ם and all their stars ṣə·ḇā·’ām וְכָל־ . . . wə·ḵāl יִבּ֔וֹל will fall yib·bō·wl כִּנְבֹ֤ל like withered kin·ḇōl עָלֶה֙ leaves ‘ā·leh מִגֶּ֔פֶן from the vine , mig·ge·p̄en וּכְנֹבֶ֖לֶת like foliage ū·ḵə·nō·ḇe·leṯ מִתְּאֵנָֽה׃ from the fig tree . mit·tə·’ê·nāh Isaiah 34:5 כִּֽי־ When kî- חַרְבִּ֑י My sword ḥar·bî רִוְּתָ֥ה has drunk its fill riw·wə·ṯāh בַשָּׁמַ֖יִם in the heavens , ḇaš·šā·ma·yim הִנֵּה֙ then hin·nêh תֵּרֵ֔ד it will come down tê·rêḏ עַל־ upon ‘al- אֱד֣וֹם Edom , ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וְעַל־ upon wə·‘al- עַ֥ם the people ‘am חֶרְמִ֖י I have devoted ḥer·mî לְמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ to destruction . lə·miš·pāṭ Isaiah 34:6 חֶ֣רֶב The sword ḥe·reḇ לַיהוָ֞ה of YHWH Yah·weh מָלְאָ֥ה is bathed mā·lə·’āh דָם֙ in blood . ḏām הֻדַּ֣שְׁנָה It drips hud·daš·nāh מֵחֵ֔לֶב with fat — mê·ḥê·leḇ מִדַּ֤ם with the blood mid·dam כָּרִים֙ of lambs kā·rîm וְעַתּוּדִ֔ים and goats , wə·‘at·tū·ḏîm מֵחֵ֖לֶב with the fat mê·ḥê·leḇ כִּלְי֣וֹת of the kidneys kil·yō·wṯ אֵילִ֑ים of rams . ’ê·lîm כִּ֣י For kî לַֽיהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh זֶ֤בַח has a sacrifice ze·ḇaḥ בְּבָצְרָ֔ה in Bozrah , bə·ḇā·ṣə·rāh גָּד֖וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl וְטֶ֥בַח slaughter wə·ṭe·ḇaḥ בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ אֱדֽוֹם׃ of Edom . ’ĕ·ḏō·wm Isaiah 34:7 רְאֵמִים֙ And the wild oxen rə·’ê·mîm וְיָרְד֤וּ will fall wə·yā·rə·ḏū עִמָּ֔ם with them , ‘im·mām וּפָרִ֖ים the young bulls ū·p̄ā·rîm עִם־ with ‘im- אַבִּירִ֑ים the strong [ones] . ’ab·bî·rîm אַרְצָם֙ Their land ’ar·ṣām וְרִוְּתָ֤ה will be drenched wə·riw·wə·ṯāh מִדָּ֔ם with blood , mid·dām וַעֲפָרָ֖ם and their soil wa·‘ă·p̄ā·rām יְדֻשָּֽׁן׃ will be soaked yə·ḏuš·šān מֵחֵ֥לֶב with fat . mê·ḥê·leḇ Isaiah 34:8 כִּ֛י For kî לַֽיהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh י֥וֹם has a day yō·wm נָקָ֖ם of vengeance , nā·qām שְׁנַ֥ת a year šə·naṯ שִׁלּוּמִ֖ים of recompense šil·lū·mîm לְרִ֥יב for the cause lə·rîḇ צִיּֽוֹן׃ of Zion . ṣî·yō·wn Isaiah 34:9 נְחָלֶ֙יהָ֙ [Edom’s] streams nə·ḥā·le·hā
