אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בְּחוֹמָ֣ה wall , bə·ḥō·w·māh שִׁבְרָֽהּ׃ whose collapse šiḇ·rāh יָב֥וֹא will come yā·ḇō·w פִּתְאֹ֥ם suddenly — piṯ·’ōm לְפֶ֖תַע in an instant ! lə·p̄e·ṯa‘ Isaiah 30:14 וּ֠שְׁבָרָהּ It will break ū·šə·ḇā·rāh כְּשֵׁ֨בֶר in pieces kə·šê·ḇer יוֹצְרִ֛ים like a potter’s yō·wṣ·rîm נֵ֧בֶל jar , nê·ḇel כָּת֖וּת shattered kā·ṯūṯ לֹ֣א so that no fragment lō יַחְמֹ֑ל . . . yaḥ·mōl וְלֹֽא־ can be found . wə·lō- חֶ֔רֶשׂ Not a shard ḥe·reś יִמָּצֵ֤א will be found yim·mā·ṣê בִמְכִתָּתוֹ֙ in the dust ḇim·ḵit·tā·ṯōw לַחְתּ֥וֹת large enough to scoop laḥ·tō·wṯ אֵשׁ֙ the coals ’êš מִיָּק֔וּד from a hearth mî·yā·qūḏ וְלַחְשֹׂ֥ף or to skim wə·laḥ·śōp̄ מַ֖יִם the water ma·yim מִגֶּֽבֶא׃פ from a cistern . ” mig·ge·ḇe Isaiah 30:15 כִּ֣י For kî כֹֽה־ . . . ḵōh- אֲדֹנָ֨י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֜ה YHWH , Yah·weh קְד֣וֹשׁ the Holy qə·ḏō·wōš יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל One of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַר֩ has said : ’ā·mar בְּשׁוּבָ֤ה “ By repentance bə·šū·ḇāh וָנַ֙חַת֙ and rest wā·na·ḥaṯ תִּוָּ֣שֵׁע֔וּן you would be saved ; tiw·wā·šê·‘ūn גְּבֽוּרַתְכֶ֑ם your strength gə·ḇū·raṯ·ḵem תִּהְיֶ֖ה would lie tih·yeh בְּהַשְׁקֵט֙ in quiet bə·haš·qêṭ וּבְבִטְחָ֔ה confidence — ū·ḇə·ḇiṭ·ḥāh וְלֹ֖א but you were not wə·lō אֲבִיתֶֽם׃ willing . ” ’ă·ḇî·ṯem Isaiah 30:16 לֹא־ “ No , ” lō- וַתֹּ֨אמְר֥וּ you say , wat·tō·mə·rū כִ֛י “ . . . ḵî נָנ֖וּס we will flee nā·nūs עַל־ on ‘al- ס֥וּס horses .” sūs עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֣ן . . . kên תְּנוּס֑וּן you will flee ! tə·nū·sūn נִרְכָּ֔ב “ We will ride nir·kāḇ עַל־ . . . ‘al- כֵּ֖ן . . . kên וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- קַ֣ל swift horses , ” qal רֹדְפֵיכֶֽם׃ but your pursuers rō·ḏə·p̄ê·ḵem יִקַּ֥לּוּ will be faster . yiq·qal·lū Isaiah 30:17 אֶחָ֗ד A ’e·ḥāḏ אֶ֣לֶף thousand [will flee] ’e·lep̄ מִפְּנֵי֙ at mip·pə·nê גַּעֲרַ֣ת the threat ga·‘ă·raṯ אֶחָ֔ד of one ; ’e·ḥāḏ מִפְּנֵ֛י at mip·pə·nê גַּעֲרַ֥ת the threat ga·‘ă·raṯ חֲמִשָּׁ֖ה of five ḥă·miš·šāh תָּנֻ֑סוּ you will all flee , tā·nu·sū עַ֣ד until ‘aḏ אִם־ . . . ’im- נוֹתַרְתֶּ֗ם you are left alone nō·w·ṯar·tem כַּתֹּ֙רֶן֙ like a pole kat·tō·ren עַל־ on ‘al- רֹ֣אשׁ a mountaintop rōš הָהָ֔ר . . . , hā·hār וְכַנֵּ֖ס like a banner wə·ḵan·nês עַל־ on ‘al- הַגִּבְעָֽה׃ a hill . hag·giḇ·‘āh Isaiah 30:18 וְלָכֵ֞ן Therefore wə·lā·ḵên יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יְחַכֶּ֤ה longs yə·ḥak·keh לַֽחֲנַנְכֶ֔ם to be gracious to you ; la·ḥă·nan·ḵem וְלָכֵ֥ן therefore wə·lā·ḵên יָר֖וּם He rises yā·rūm לְרַֽחֶמְכֶ֑ם to show you compassion , lə·ra·ḥem·ḵem כִּֽי־ for kî- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh מִשְׁפָּט֙ is a just miš·pāṭ אֱלֹהֵ֤י God . ’ĕ·lō·hê
