Isaiah 29:13 יַ֚עַן Therefore ya·‘an כִּ֤י . . . kî אֲדֹנָ֗י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said : way·yō·mer הַזֶּ֔ה “ These haz·zeh הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām נִגַּשׁ֙ draw near to Me nig·gaš בְּפִ֤יו with their mouths bə·p̄îw כִּבְּד֔וּנִי and honor Me kib·bə·ḏū·nî וּבִשְׂפָתָיו֙ with their lips , ū·ḇiś·p̄ā·ṯāw וְלִבּ֖וֹ but their hearts wə·lib·bōw רִחַ֣ק are far ri·ḥaq מִמֶּ֑נִּי from Me . mim·men·nî יִרְאָתָם֙ Their worship yir·’ā·ṯām אֹתִ֔י of Me ’ō·ṯî וַתְּהִ֤י is but wat·tə·hî מִצְוַ֥ת rules miṣ·waṯ מְלֻמָּדָֽה׃ taught mə·lum·mā·ḏāh אֲנָשִׁ֖ים by men . ’ă·nā·šîm Isaiah 29:14 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên הִנְנִ֥י . . . hin·nî יוֹסִ֛ף I will again yō·w·sip̄ לְהַפְלִ֥יא confound lə·hap̄·lî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֖ה these haz·zeh הָֽעָם־ people hā·‘ām- הַפְלֵ֣א with wonder hap̄·lê וָפֶ֑לֶא upon wonder . wā·p̄e·le חָכְמַ֣ת The wisdom ḥā·ḵə·maṯ חֲכָמָ֔יו of the wise ḥă·ḵā·māw וְאָֽבְדָה֙ will vanish , wə·’ā·ḇə·ḏāh וּבִינַ֥ת and the intelligence ū·ḇî·naṯ נְבֹנָ֖יו of the intelligent nə·ḇō·nāw תִּסְתַּתָּֽר׃ס will be hidden . ” tis·tat·tār Isaiah 29:15 ה֛וֹי Woe hō·w הַמַּעֲמִיקִ֥ים to those who dig deep ham·ma·‘ă·mî·qîm לַסְתִּ֣ר to hide las·tir עֵצָ֑ה their plans ‘ê·ṣāh וְהָיָ֤ה . . . wə·hā·yāh מֵֽיהוָ֖ה from YHWH . Yah·weh בְמַחְשָׁךְ֙ In darkness ḇə·maḥ·šāḵ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶ֔ם they do their works ma·‘ă·śê·hem וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and say , way·yō·mə·rū מִ֥י “ Who mî רֹאֵ֖נוּ sees us , rō·’ê·nū וּמִ֥י and who ū·mî יוֹדְעֵֽנוּ׃ will know ? ” yō·wḏ·‘ê·nū Isaiah 29:16 הַ֨פְכְּכֶ֔ם You have turned things upside down , hap̄·kə·ḵem אִם־ as if ’im- הַיֹּצֵ֖ר the potter hay·yō·ṣêr יֵֽחָשֵׁ֑ב were regarded yê·ḥā·šêḇ כְּחֹ֥מֶר as clay . kə·ḥō·mer כִּֽי־ Shall kî- מַעֲשֶׂ֤ה what is formed ma·‘ă·śeh יֹאמַ֨ר say yō·mar לְעֹשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ to him who formed it , lə·‘ō·śê·hū לֹ֣א “ He did not lō עָשָׂ֔נִי make me ”? ‘ā·śā·nî וְיֵ֛צֶר Can the pottery wə·yê·ṣer אָמַ֥ר say ’ā·mar לְיוֹצְר֖וֹ of the potter , lə·yō·wṣ·rōw לֹ֥א “ He has no lō הֵבִֽין׃ understanding ”? hê·ḇîn Isaiah 29:17 הֲלוֹא־ vvv hă·lō·w- עוֹד֙ In a very ‘ō·wḏ מְעַ֣ט short mə·‘aṭ מִזְעָ֔ר time , miz·‘ār לְבָנ֖וֹן [will not] Lebanon lə·ḇā·nō·wn וְשָׁ֥ב become wə·šāḇ לַכַּרְמֶ֑ל an orchard , lak·kar·mel וְהַכַּרְמֶ֖ל and the orchard wə·hak·kar·mel יֵחָשֵֽׁב׃ seem yê·ḥā·šêḇ לַיַּ֥עַר like a forest ? lay·ya·‘ar Isaiah 29:18 הַה֛וּא On that ha·hū בַיּוֹם־ day ḇay·yō·wm- הַחֵרְשִׁ֖ים the deaf ha·ḥê·rə·šîm וְשָׁמְע֧וּ will hear wə·šā·mə·‘ū דִּבְרֵי־ the words diḇ·rê- סֵ֑פֶר of the scroll , sê·p̄er וּמֵאֹ֣פֶל and out of ū·mê·’ō·p̄el וּמֵחֹ֔שֶׁךְ the deep darkness ū·mê·ḥō·šeḵ עֵינֵ֥י the eyes ‘ê·nê
