חָנָ֣ה camped ! ḥā·nāh שָׁנָ֛ה Year šā·nāh עַל־ upon ‘al- שָׁנָ֖ה year šā·nāh חַגִּ֥ים let your festivals ḥag·gîm יִנְקֹֽפוּ׃ recur . yin·qō·p̄ū Isaiah 29:2 וַהֲצִיק֖וֹתִי And I will constrain wa·hă·ṣî·qō·w·ṯî לַֽאֲרִיאֵ֑ל Ariel , la·’ă·rî·’êl וְהָיְתָ֤ה and there will be wə·hā·yə·ṯāh תַֽאֲנִיָּה֙ mourning ṯa·’ă·nî·yāh וַֽאֲנִיָּ֔ה and lamentation ; wa·’ă·nî·yāh וְהָ֥יְתָה she will be wə·hā·yə·ṯāh כַּאֲרִיאֵֽל׃ like an altar hearth ka·’ă·rî·’êl לִּ֖י before Me . lî Isaiah 29:3 וְחָנִ֥יתִי I will camp wə·ḥā·nî·ṯî כַדּ֖וּר in a circle ḵad·dūr עָלָ֑יִךְ around you ; ‘ā·lā·yiḵ וְצַרְתִּ֤י I will besiege wə·ṣar·tî עָלַ֙יִךְ֙ you ‘ā·la·yiḵ מֻצָּ֔ב with towers muṣ·ṣāḇ וַהֲקִֽימֹתִ֥י and set up wa·hă·qî·mō·ṯî מְצֻרֹֽת׃ siege works mə·ṣu·rōṯ עָלַ֖יִךְ against you . ‘ā·la·yiḵ Isaiah 29:4 וְשָׁפַלְתְּ֙ You will be brought low , wə·šā·p̄alt תְּדַבֵּ֔רִי you will speak tə·ḏab·bê·rî מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the ground , mê·’e·reṣ וּמֵֽעָפָ֖ר and out of the dust ū·mê·‘ā·p̄ār אִמְרָתֵ֑ךְ your words ’im·rā·ṯêḵ תִּשַּׁ֣ח will be muffled . tiš·šaḥ קוֹלֵ֔ךְ Your voice qō·w·lêḵ וְֽ֠הָיָה will be wə·hā·yāh כְּא֤וֹב like a spirit kə·’ō·wḇ מֵאֶ֙רֶץ֙ from the ground ; mê·’e·reṣ אִמְרָתֵ֥ךְ your speech ’im·rā·ṯêḵ תְּצַפְצֵֽף׃ will whisper tə·ṣap̄·ṣêp̄ וּמֵעָפָ֖ר out of the dust . ū·mê·‘ā·p̄ār Isaiah 29:5 הֲמ֣וֹן But your many hă·mō·wn זָרָ֑יִךְ foes zā·rā·yiḵ וְהָיָ֛ה will be wə·hā·yāh דַּ֖ק like fine daq כְּאָבָ֥ק dust , kə·’ā·ḇāq הֲמ֣וֹן the multitude hă·mō·wn עָֽרִיצִ֔ים of the ruthless ‘ā·rî·ṣîm וְהָיָ֖ה . . . wə·hā·yāh עֹבֵר֙ like blowing ‘ō·ḇêr וּכְמֹ֤ץ chaff . ū·ḵə·mōṣ פִּתְאֹֽם׃ Then suddenly , piṯ·’ōm לְפֶ֥תַע in an instant , lə·p̄e·ṯa‘ Isaiah 29:6 תִּפָּקֵ֔ד you will be visited tip·pā·qêḏ מֵעִ֨ם by mê·‘im יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָאוֹת֙ of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ בְּרַ֥עַם with thunder bə·ra·‘am וּבְרַ֖עַשׁ and earthquake ū·ḇə·ra·‘aš גָּד֑וֹל and loud gā·ḏō·wl וְק֣וֹל noise , wə·qō·wl סוּפָה֙ with windstorm sū·p̄āh וּסְעָרָ֔ה and tempest ū·sə·‘ā·rāh אוֹכֵלָֽה׃ and consuming ’ō·w·ḵê·lāh וְלַ֖הַב flame wə·la·haḇ אֵ֥שׁ of fire . ’êš Isaiah 29:7 כָּל־ All kāl- הֲמוֹן֙ the many hă·mō·wn הַגּוֹיִ֔ם nations hag·gō·w·yim הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים going out to battle haṣ·ṣō·ḇə·’îm עַל־ against ‘al- אֲרִיאֵ֑ל Ariel — ’ă·rî·’êl וְכָל־ even all wə·ḵāl צֹבֶ֙יהָ֙ who war against her , ṣō·ḇe·hā וּמְצֹ֣דָתָ֔הּ laying siege ū·mə·ṣō·ḏā·ṯāh וְהַמְּצִיקִ֖ים and attacking wə·ham·mə·ṣî·qîm לָֽהּ׃ her — lāh וְהָיָ֗ה will be wə·hā·yāh כַּֽחֲלוֹם֙ like a dream , ka·ḥă·lō·wm חֲז֣וֹן like a vision ḥă·zō·wn לַ֔יְלָה in the night , lay·lāh Isaiah 29:8 וְהָיָ֡ה - wə·hā·yāh כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ as when ka·’ă·šer הָרָעֵ֜ב a hungry man hā·rā·‘êḇ
