Isaiah 28:23 הַאֲזִ֥ינוּ Listen ha·’ă·zî·nū וְשִׁמְע֖וּ and hear wə·šim·‘ū קוֹלִ֑י my voice . qō·w·lî הַקְשִׁ֥יבוּ Pay attention haq·šî·ḇū וְשִׁמְע֖וּ and hear wə·šim·‘ū אִמְרָתִֽי׃ what I say . ’im·rā·ṯî Isaiah 28:24 יַחֲרֹ֥שׁ Does the plowman ya·ḥă·rōš הַחֹרֵ֖שׁ plow ha·ḥō·rêš לִזְרֹ֑עַ for planting liz·rō·a‘ הֲכֹ֣ל every hă·ḵōl הַיּ֔וֹם day ? hay·yō·wm יְפַתַּ֥ח Does he continuously loosen yə·p̄at·taḥ וִֽישַׂדֵּ֖ד and harrow wî·śad·dêḏ אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ the soil ? ’aḏ·mā·ṯōw Isaiah 28:25 אִם־ When ’im- שִׁוָּ֣ה he has leveled šiw·wāh פָנֶ֔יהָ its surface , p̄ā·ne·hā הֲלוֹא֙ does he not hă·lō·w יִזְרֹ֑ק sow yiz·rōq קֶ֖צַח caraway qe·ṣaḥ וְהֵפִ֥יץ and scatter wə·hê·p̄îṣ וְכַמֹּ֣ן cumin ? wə·ḵam·mōn וְשָׂ֨ם He plants wə·śām חִטָּ֤ה wheat ḥiṭ·ṭāh שׂוֹרָה֙ in rows śō·w·rāh וּשְׂעֹרָ֣ה and barley ū·śə·‘ō·rāh נִסְמָ֔ן in plots , nis·mān וְכֻסֶּ֖מֶת and rye wə·ḵus·se·meṯ גְּבֻלָתֽוֹ׃ within its border . gə·ḇu·lā·ṯōw Isaiah 28:26 אֱלֹהָ֥יו For his God ’ĕ·lō·hāw וְיִסְּר֥וֹ instructs wə·yis·sə·rōw יוֹרֶֽנּוּ׃ and teaches him yō·w·ren·nū לַמִּשְׁפָּ֖ט properly . lam·miš·pāṭ Isaiah 28:27 כִּ֣י Surely kî קֶ֔צַח caraway qe·ṣaḥ לֹ֤א is not lō י֣וּדַשׁ threshed yū·ḏaš בֶֽחָרוּץ֙ with a sledge , ḇe·ḥā·rūṣ וְאוֹפַ֣ן and the wheel wə·’ō·w·p̄an עֲגָלָ֔ה of a cart ‘ă·ḡā·lāh יוּסָּ֑ב is not rolled yūs·sāḇ עַל־ over ‘al- כַּמֹּ֖ן the cumin . kam·mōn כִּ֧י But kî קֶ֖צַח caraway qe·ṣaḥ יֵחָ֥בֶט is beaten out yê·ḥā·ḇeṭ בַמַּטֶּ֛ה with a stick , ḇam·maṭ·ṭeh וְכַמֹּ֥ן and cumin wə·ḵam·mōn בַּשָּֽׁבֶט׃ with a rod . baš·šā·ḇeṭ Isaiah 28:28 לֶ֣חֶם Grain for bread le·ḥem יוּדָ֔ק must be ground , yū·ḏāq כִּ֛י but kî לֹ֥א it is not lō יְדוּשֶׁ֑נּוּ endlessly threshed yə·ḏū·šen·nū לָנֶ֖צַח . . . . lā·ne·ṣaḥ אָד֣וֹשׁ . . . ’ā·ḏō·wōš גִּלְגַּ֧ל Though the wheels gil·gal עֶגְלָת֛וֹ of the cart ‘eḡ·lā·ṯōw וְ֠הָמַם roll over it , wə·hā·mam וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו the horses ū·p̄ā·rā·šāw לֹֽא־ do not lō- יְדֻקֶּֽנּוּ׃ crush it . yə·ḏuq·qen·nū Isaiah 28:29 זֹ֕את This zōṯ גַּם־ also gam- יָצָ֑אָה comes yā·ṣā·’āh מֵעִ֛ם from mê·‘im יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ הִפְלִ֣יא [who] is wonderful hip̄·lî עֵצָ֔ה in counsel ‘ê·ṣāh הִגְדִּ֖יל [and] excellent hiḡ·dîl תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃ס in wisdom . tū·šî·yāh Isaiah 29:1 ה֚וֹי Woe to you , hō·w אֲרִיאֵ֣ל O Ariel , ’ă·rî·’êl קִרְיַ֖ת the city qir·yaṯ אֲרִיאֵ֔ל [of] Ariel ’ă·rî·’êl דָוִ֑ד where David ḏā·wiḏ סְפ֥וּ . . . sə·p̄ū
