אָמַ֣ר He has said ’ā·mar אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם - : ’ă·lê·hem זֹ֤את “ This zōṯ הַמְּנוּחָה֙ is the place of rest , ham·mə·nū·ḥāh לֶֽעָיֵ֔ף let the weary le·‘ā·yêp̄ הָנִ֣יחוּ rest ; hā·nî·ḥū וְזֹ֖את this wə·zōṯ הַמַּרְגֵּעָ֑ה is the place of repose . ” ham·mar·gê·‘āh אָב֖וּא But they would ’ā·ḇū וְלֹ֥א not wə·lō שְׁמֽוֹעַ׃ listen . šə·mō·w·a‘ Isaiah 28:13 דְּבַר־ Then the word də·ḇar- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh לָהֶ֜ם to them lā·hem וְהָיָ֨ה will become : wə·hā·yāh צַ֣ו “ Order ṣaw לָצָ֞ו on order , lā·ṣāw צַ֤ו order ṣaw לָצָו֙ on order , lā·ṣāw קַ֤ו line qaw לָקָו֙ on line , lā·qāw קַ֣ו line qaw לָקָ֔ו on line ; lā·qāw זְעֵ֥יר a little zə·‘êr שָׁ֖ם here , šām זְעֵ֣יר a little zə·‘êr שָׁ֑ם there , ” šām לְמַ֨עַן so that lə·ma·‘an יֵלְכ֜וּ they will go yê·lə·ḵū וְכָשְׁל֤וּ stumbling wə·ḵā·šə·lū אָחוֹר֙ backward ’ā·ḥō·wr וְנִשְׁבָּ֔רוּ and will be injured , wə·niš·bā·rū וְנוֹקְשׁ֖וּ ensnared , wə·nō·wq·šū וְנִלְכָּֽדוּ׃פ and captured . wə·nil·kā·ḏū Isaiah 28:14 לָכֵ֛ן Therefore lā·ḵên שִׁמְע֥וּ hear šim·‘ū דְבַר־ the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אַנְשֵׁ֣י O ’an·šê לָצ֑וֹן scoffers lā·ṣō·wn מֹֽשְׁלֵי֙ who rule mō·šə·lê הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer הָעָ֣ם people hā·‘ām בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem . bî·rū·šā·lim Isaiah 28:15 כִּ֣י For kî אֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם you said , ’ă·mar·tem כָּרַ֤תְנֽוּ “ We have made kā·raṯ·nū בְרִית֙ a covenant ḇə·rîṯ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- מָ֔וֶת death ; mā·weṯ עָשִׂ֣ינוּ we have fashioned ‘ā·śî·nū חֹזֶ֑ה an agreement ḥō·zeh שִׁיט . . . šīṭ וְעִם־ with wə·‘im- שְׁא֖וֹל Sheol . šə·’ō·wl כִּֽי־ When kî- שׁוֹטֵ֤ף the overwhelming scourge šō·w·ṭêp̄ עָבַר passes through ʿå̄·ḇar לֹ֣א it will not lō יְבוֹאֵ֔נוּ touch us , yə·ḇō·w·’ê·nū כִּ֣י because kî שַׂ֧מְנוּ we have made śam·nū כָזָ֛ב lies ḵā·zāḇ מַחְסֵ֖נוּ our refuge maḥ·sê·nū וּבַשֶּׁ֥קֶר and falsehood ū·ḇaš·še·qer נִסְתָּֽרְנוּ׃ס our hiding place . ” nis·tā·rə·nū Isaiah 28:16 לָכֵ֗ן So lā·ḵên כֹּ֤ה this is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַר֙ says : ’ā·mar הִנְנִ֛י “ See , hin·nî יִסַּ֥ד I lay yis·saḏ אָ֑בֶן a stone ’ā·ḇen בְּצִיּ֖וֹן in Zion , bə·ṣî·yō·wn בֹּ֜חַן a tested bō·ḥan אֶ֣בֶן stone , ’e·ḇen יִקְרַת֙ a precious yiq·raṯ פִּנַּ֤ת cornerstone , pin·naṯ מוּסָּ֔ד a sure mūs·sāḏ מוּסָ֣ד foundation ; mū·sāḏ הַֽמַּאֲמִ֖ין the one who believes ham·ma·’ă·mîn לֹ֥א will never lō יָחִֽישׁ׃ be shaken . yā·ḥîš
