יִֽהְיֶה֙ will be yih·yeh לַעֲטֶ֣רֶת a crown la·‘ă·ṭe·reṯ צְבִ֔י of glory , ṣə·ḇî וְלִצְפִירַ֖ת a diadem wə·liṣ·p̄î·raṯ תִּפְאָרָ֑ה of splendor tip̄·’ā·rāh לִשְׁאָ֖ר to the remnant liš·’ār עַמּֽוֹ׃ of His people , ‘am·mōw Isaiah 28:6 וּלְר֖וּחַ a spirit ū·lə·rū·aḥ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט of justice miš·pāṭ לַיּוֹשֵׁב֙ to him who sits lay·yō·wō·šêḇ עַל־ in ‘al- הַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט judgment , ham·miš·pāṭ וְלִ֨גְבוּרָ֔ה and a strength wə·liḡ·ḇū·rāh מְשִׁיבֵ֥י to those who repel mə·šî·ḇê מִלְחָמָ֖ה the onslaught mil·ḥā·māh שָֽׁעְרָה׃ס at the gate . šā·‘ə·rāh Isaiah 28:7 אֵ֙לֶּה֙ These ’êl·leh וְגַם־ also wə·ḡam- שָׁג֔וּ stagger šā·ḡū בַּיַּ֣יִן from wine bay·ya·yin תָּע֑וּ and stumble tā·‘ū וּבַשֵּׁכָ֖ר from strong drink : ū·ḇaš·šê·ḵār כֹּהֵ֣ן Priests kō·hên וְנָבִיא֩ and prophets wə·nā·ḇî שָׁג֨וּ reel šā·ḡū בַשֵּׁכָ֜ר from strong drink ḇaš·šê·ḵār נִבְלְע֣וּ and are befuddled niḇ·lə·‘ū מִן־ by min- הַיַּ֗יִן wine . hay·ya·yin תָּעוּ֙ They stumble tā·‘ū מִן־ because of min- הַשֵּׁכָ֔ר strong drink , haš·šê·ḵār שָׁגוּ֙ muddled šā·ḡū בָּֽרֹאֶ֔ה in their visions bā·rō·’eh פָּק֖וּ and stumbling pā·qū פְּלִילִיָּֽה׃ in their judgments . pə·lî·lî·yāh Isaiah 28:8 כִּ֚י For kî כָּל־ all kāl- שֻׁלְחָנ֔וֹת their tables šul·ḥā·nō·wṯ מָלְא֖וּ are covered mā·lə·’ū קִ֣יא with vomit ; qî מָקֽוֹם׃ס there is not a place mā·qō·wm בְּלִ֖י without bə·lî צֹאָ֑ה filth . ṣō·’āh Isaiah 28:9 אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִי֙ Whom mî יוֹרֶ֣ה is He trying to teach yō·w·reh דֵעָ֔ה . . . ? ḏê·‘āh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מִ֖י To whom mî יָבִ֣ין is He explaining yā·ḇîn שְׁמוּעָ֑ה His message ? šə·mū·‘āh גְּמוּלֵי֙ To infants just weaned gə·mū·lê מֵֽחָלָ֔ב from milk ? mê·ḥā·lāḇ עַתִּיקֵ֖י To babies removed ‘at·tî·qê מִשָּׁדָֽיִם׃ from the breast ? miš·šā·ḏā·yim Isaiah 28:10 כִּ֣י For [they hear] : kî צַ֤ו “ Order ṣaw לָצָו֙ on order , lā·ṣāw צַ֣ו order ṣaw לָצָ֔ו on order , lā·ṣāw קַ֥ו line qaw לָקָ֖ו on line , lā·qāw קַ֣ו line qaw לָקָ֑ו on line ; lā·qāw זְעֵ֥יר a little zə·‘êr שָׁ֖ם here , šām זְעֵ֥יר a little zə·‘êr שָֽׁם׃ there . ” šām Isaiah 28:11 כִּ֚י Indeed , kî בְּלַעֲגֵ֣י with mocking bə·la·‘ă·ḡê שָׂפָ֔ה lips śā·p̄āh אַחֶ֑רֶת and foreign ’a·ḥe·reṯ וּבְלָשׁ֖וֹן tongues , ū·ḇə·lā·šō·wn יְדַבֵּ֖ר He will speak yə·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הָעָ֥ם people hā·‘ām Isaiah 28:12 אֲשֶׁ֣ר׀ to whom ’ă·šer
