לִפְנֵ֣י before him lip̄·nê וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ and tell him wə·’ā·mar·tā אֵלָ֗יו that ’ê·lāw כֹּ֚ה this is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar עַמִּ֖י ‘ Let My people ‘am·mî שַׁלַּ֥ח go , šal·laḥ וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃ so that they may worship Me . wə·ya·‘aḇ·ḏu·nî Exodus 8:21 כִּ֣י But kî אִם־ if ’im- אֵינְךָ֮ you will not ’ê·nə·ḵā עַמִּי֒ let My people ‘am·mî הִנְנִי֩ . . . hin·nî מְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ go , mə·šal·lê·aḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מַשְׁלִ֨יחַ I will send maš·lî·aḥ הֶעָרֹ֑ב swarms [of flies] he·‘ā·rōḇ בְּךָ֜ upon you bə·ḵā וּבַעֲבָדֶ֧יךָ and your officials ū·ḇa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā וּֽבְעַמְּךָ֛ and your people ū·ḇə·‘am·mə·ḵā וּבְבָתֶּ֖יךָ and your houses . ū·ḇə·ḇāt·te·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בָּתֵּ֤י The houses bāt·tê מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ of the Egyptians miṣ·ra·yim אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְגַ֥ם and even wə·ḡam הָאֲדָמָ֖ה the ground hā·’ă·ḏā·māh אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הֵ֥ם where they [stand] hêm וּמָ֨לְא֜וּ will be full ū·mā·lə·’ū הֶ֣עָרֹ֔ב of flies he·‘ā·rōḇ עָלֶֽיהָ׃ . . . . ‘ā·le·hā Exodus 8:22 הַה֜וּא But on that ha·hū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בַיּ֨וֹם day ḇay·yō·wm וְהִפְלֵיתִי֩ I will give special treatment wə·hip̄·lê·ṯî אֶ֣רֶץ to the land ’e·reṣ גֹּ֗שֶׁן of Goshen , gō·šen אֲשֶׁ֤ר where ’ă·šer עַמִּי֙ My people ‘am·mî עֹמֵ֣ד live ; ‘ō·mêḏ עָלֶ֔יהָ . . . ‘ā·le·hā לְבִלְתִּ֥י no lə·ḇil·tî עָרֹ֑ב swarms [of flies] ‘ā·rōḇ הֱיֽוֹת־ will be [found] hĕ·yō·wṯ- שָׁ֖ם there . šām לְמַ֣עַן In this way lə·ma·‘an תֵּדַ֔ע you will know tê·ḏa‘ כִּ֛י that kî אֲנִ֥י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh בְּקֶ֥רֶב am in bə·qe·reḇ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land . hā·’ā·reṣ Exodus 8:23 וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י I will make wə·śam·tî פְדֻ֔ת a distinction p̄ə·ḏuṯ בֵּ֥ין between bên עַמִּ֖י My people ‘am·mî וּבֵ֣ין . . . ū·ḇên עַמֶּ֑ךָ and your people . ‘am·me·ḵā הַזֶּֽה׃ This haz·zeh הָאֹ֥ת sign hā·’ōṯ יִהְיֶ֖ה will take place yih·yeh לְמָחָ֥ר tomorrow . ’” lə·mā·ḥār Exodus 8:24 יְהוָה֙ And YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּ֤עַשׂ did way·ya·‘aś כֵּ֔ן so . kên כָּבֵ֔ד Thick kā·ḇêḏ עָרֹ֣ב swarms [of flies] ‘ā·rōḇ וַיָּבֹא֙ poured way·yā·ḇō פַרְעֹ֖ה into Pharaoh’s p̄ar·‘ōh בֵּ֥יתָה palace bê·ṯāh וּבֵ֣ית and into the houses ū·ḇêṯ עֲבָדָ֑יו of his officials . ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw וּבְכָל־ Throughout ū·ḇə·ḵāl מִצְרַ֛יִם Egypt miṣ·ra·yim אֶ֧רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ תִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת was ruined tiš·šā·ḥêṯ הָאָ֖רֶץ . . . hā·’ā·reṣ מִפְּנֵ֥י by mip·pə·nê הֶעָרֹֽב׃ swarms [of flies] . he·‘ā·rōḇ Exodus 8:25 פַרְעֹ֔ה Then Pharaoh p̄ar·‘ōh אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיִּקְרָ֣א summoned way·yiq·rā מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh
