הֵקִ֣ימוּ they set up hê·qî·mū בְחִינָיו their siege towers ḇə·ḥī·nå̄w עֹרְרוּ֙ and stripped ‘ō·rə·rū אַרְמְנוֹתֶ֔יהָ its palaces . ’ar·mə·nō·w·ṯe·hā שָׂמָ֖הּ They brought it śā·māh לְמַפֵּלָֽה׃ to ruin . lə·map·pê·lāh Isaiah 23:14 הֵילִ֖ילוּ Wail , hê·lî·lū אֳנִיּ֣וֹת O ships ’o·nî·yō·wṯ תַּרְשִׁ֑ישׁ of Tarshish , tar·šîš כִּ֥י for kî מָעֻזְּכֶֽן׃ס your harbor mā·‘uz·zə·ḵen שֻׁדַּ֖ד has been destroyed ! šud·daḏ Isaiah 23:15 וְהָיָה֙ - wə·hā·yāh הַה֔וּא At that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם time bay·yō·wm צֹר֙ Tyre ṣōr וְנִשְׁכַּ֤חַת will be forgotten wə·niš·ka·ḥaṯ שִׁבְעִ֣ים for seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָ֔ה years — šā·nāh כִּימֵ֖י the span kî·mê אֶחָ֑ד of a ’e·ḥāḏ מֶ֣לֶךְ king’s life . me·leḵ מִקֵּ֞ץ But at the end miq·qêṣ שִׁבְעִ֤ים of seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָה֙ years , šā·nāh יִהְיֶ֣ה it will happen yih·yeh לְצֹ֔ר to Tyre lə·ṣōr כְּשִׁירַ֖ת as in the song kə·šî·raṯ הַזּוֹנָֽה׃ of the harlot : haz·zō·w·nāh Isaiah 23:16 קְחִ֥י “ Take up qə·ḥî כִנּ֛וֹר your harp , ḵin·nō·wr סֹ֥בִּי stroll through sōb·bî עִ֖יר the city , ‘îr נִשְׁכָּחָ֑ה O forgotten niš·kā·ḥāh זוֹנָ֣ה harlot . zō·w·nāh הֵיטִ֤יבִי Make sweet hê·ṭî·ḇî נַגֵּן֙ melody , nag·gên הַרְבִּי־ sing many har·bî- שִׁ֔יר a song , šîr לְמַ֖עַן . . . lə·ma·‘an תִּזָּכֵֽרִי׃ so you will be remembered . ” tiz·zā·ḵê·rî Isaiah 23:17 וְהָיָ֞ה And at wə·hā·yāh מִקֵּ֣ץ׀ the end miq·qêṣ שִׁבְעִ֣ים of seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָ֗ה years , šā·nāh יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִפְקֹ֤ד will restore yip̄·qōḏ צֹ֔ר Tyre . ṣōr וְשָׁבָ֖ה Then she will return wə·šā·ḇāh לְאֶתְנַנָּ֑ה to hire lə·’eṯ·nan·nāh וְזָֽנְתָ֛ה as a prostitute wə·zā·nə·ṯāh אֶת־ and sell herself ’eṯ- כָּל־ to all kāl- מַמְלְכ֥וֹת the kingdoms mam·lə·ḵō·wṯ הָאָ֖רֶץ - hā·’ā·reṣ עַל־ on ‘al- פְּנֵ֥י the face pə·nê הָאֲדָמָֽה׃ of the earth . hā·’ă·ḏā·māh Isaiah 23:18 סַחְרָ֜הּ Yet her profits saḥ·rāh וְאֶתְנַנָּ֗הּ and wages wə·’eṯ·nan·nāh וְהָיָ֨ה will be wə·hā·yāh קֹ֚דֶשׁ set apart qō·ḏeš לַֽיהוָ֔ה to YHWH ; Yah·weh לֹ֥א they will not lō יֵֽאָצֵ֖ר be stored yê·’ā·ṣêr וְלֹ֣א . . . wə·lō יֵֽחָסֵ֑ן or saved , yê·ḥā·sên כִּ֣י for kî יִֽהְיֶ֣ה her yih·yeh סַחְרָ֔הּ profit saḥ·rāh לַיֹּשְׁבִ֞ים will go to those who live lay·yō·šə·ḇîm לִפְנֵ֤י before lip̄·nê יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh לְשָׂבְעָ֖ה for abundant lə·śā·ḇə·‘āh לֶאֱכֹ֥ל food le·’ĕ·ḵōl עָתִֽיק׃פ and fine ‘ā·ṯîq וְלִמְכַסֶּ֥ה clothing . wə·lim·ḵas·seh Isaiah 24:1 הִנֵּ֧ה Behold , hin·nêh יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh בּוֹקֵ֥ק lays waste bō·w·qêq הָאָ֖רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ
