Isaiah 21:16כִּי־Forkî-
כֹ֛הthis [is what]ḵōh
אֲדֹנָ֖יthe Lord’ă·ḏō·nāy
אָמַ֥רsays’ā·mar
אֵלָ֑יto me :’ê·lāy
בְּע֤וֹד. . .bə·‘ō·wḏ
שָׁנָה֙ “ Within one year , šā·nāh
שָׂכִ֔ירas a hired workerśā·ḵîr
כִּשְׁנֵ֣י would count [it] , kiš·nê
כָּל־allkāl-
כְּב֥וֹדthe glorykə·ḇō·wḏ
קֵדָֽר׃of Kedarqê·ḏār
וְכָלָ֖הwill be gone .wə·ḵā·lāh

מִסְפַּר־. . .mis·par-
קֶ֛שֶׁת archers , qe·šeṯ
גִּבּוֹרֵ֥יthe warriorsgib·bō·w·rê
בְנֵֽי־-ḇə·nê-
קֵדָ֖ר of Kedar , qê·ḏār
יִמְעָ֑טוּwill be few . ”yim·‘ā·ṭū
כִּ֛יFor
יְהוָ֥ה YHWH , Yah·weh
אֱלֹהֵֽי־the God’ĕ·lō·hê-
יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl
דִּבֵּֽר׃סhas spoken .dib·bêr

חִזָּי֑וֹןof Vision :ḥiz·zā·yō·wn
מַה־Whatmah-
לָּ֣ךְlāḵ
אֵפ֔וֹא ails you now , ’ê·p̄ō·w
כִּֽי־thatkî-
כֻּלָּ֖ךְyou have allkul·lāḵ
עָלִ֥יתgone up‘ā·lîṯ
לַגַּגּֽוֹת׃ to the rooftops , lag·gag·gō·wṯ

תְּשֻׁא֣וֹת׀of commotiontə·šu·’ō·wṯ
מְלֵאָ֗ה . . . , mə·lê·’āh
קִרְיָ֖הO townqir·yāh
הֽוֹמִיָּ֔הvvvhō·w·mî·yāh
עַלִּיזָ֑הof revelry ?‘al·lî·zāh
חֲלָלַ֙יִךְ֙Your slainḥă·lā·la·yiḵ
לֹ֣אdid not
חַלְלֵי־dieḥal·lê-
חֶ֔רֶב by the sword , ḥe·reḇ
וְלֹ֖אnor were theywə·lō
מֵתֵ֥יkilledmê·ṯê
מִלְחָמָֽה׃in battle .mil·ḥā·māh
Isaiah 22:3כָּל־Allkāl-
קְצִינַ֥יִךְyour rulersqə·ṣî·na·yiḵ
נָֽדְדוּ־have flednā·ḏə·ḏū-
יַ֖חַד together , ya·ḥaḏ
אֻסָּ֑רוּcaptured’us·sā·rū
מִקֶּ֣שֶׁתwithout a bow .miq·qe·šeṯ
כָּל־Allkāl-
נִמְצָאַ֙יִךְ֙your fugitivesnim·ṣā·’a·yiḵ
אֻסְּר֣וּwere captured’us·sə·rū
יַחְדָּ֔ו together , yaḥ·dāw
בָּרָֽחוּ׃having fledbā·rā·ḥū
מֵרָח֖וֹקto a distant place .mê·rā·ḥō·wq
Isaiah 22:4עַל־Therefore‘al-
כֵּ֥ן. . .kên
אָמַ֛רְתִּי I said , ’ā·mar·tî
שְׁע֥וּ“ Turn awayšə·‘ū
מִנִּ֖י from me , min·nî
בַּבֶּ֑כִיlet me weepbab·be·ḵî
אֲמָרֵ֣רbitterly !’ă·mā·rêr
אַל־Do not’al-
תָּאִ֣יצוּtrytā·’î·ṣū
לְנַֽחֲמֵ֔נִיto console melə·na·ḥă·mê·nî
עַל־over‘al-
שֹׁ֖דthe destructionšōḏ
בַּת־of the daughterbaṯ-
עַמִּֽי׃of my people . ”‘am·mî
