Isaiah 21:2קָשָׁ֖הA direqā·šāh
חָז֥וּתvisionḥā·zūṯ
הֻגַּד־is declaredhug·gaḏ-
לִ֑יto me :
הַבּוֹגֵ֤ד׀“ The traitorhab·bō·w·ḡêḏ
בּוֹגֵד֙ still betrays , bō·w·ḡêḏ
וְהַשּׁוֹדֵ֣ד׀and the destroyerwə·haš·šō·w·ḏêḏ
שׁוֹדֵ֔דstill destroys .šō·w·ḏêḏ
עֲלִ֤י Go up , ‘ă·lî
עֵילָם֙O Elam !‘ê·lām
צוּרִ֣י Lay siege , ṣū·rî
מָדַ֔יO Media !mā·ḏay
הִשְׁבַּֽתִּי׃I will put an endhiš·bat·tî
כָּל־to allkāl-
אַנְחָתָ֖הher groaning . ”’an·ḥā·ṯāh
Isaiah 21:3עַל־Therefore‘al-
כֵּ֗ן. . .kên
מָתְנַי֙my bodymā·ṯə·nay
מָלְא֤וּis filledmā·lə·’ū
חַלְחָלָ֔הwith anguish .ḥal·ḥā·lāh
צִירִ֣יםPainṣî·rîm
אֲחָז֔וּנִי grips me , ’ă·ḥā·zū·nî
כְּצִירֵ֖יlike the painskə·ṣî·rê
יֽוֹלֵדָ֑הof a woman in labor .yō·w·lê·ḏāh
נַעֲוֵ֣יתִיI am bewilderedna·‘ă·wê·ṯî
מִשְּׁמֹ֔עַ to hear , miš·šə·mō·a‘
נִבְהַ֖לְתִּיI am dismayedniḇ·hal·tî
מֵרְאֽוֹת׃to see .mê·rə·’ō·wṯ
Isaiah 21:4לְבָבִ֔יMy heartlə·ḇā·ḇî
תָּעָ֣הfalters ;tā·‘āh
פַּלָּצ֖וּתfearpal·lā·ṣūṯ
בִּֽעֲתָ֑תְנִיmakes me tremble .bi·‘ă·ṯā·ṯə·nî
אֵ֚ת-’êṯ
נֶ֣שֶׁףThe twilightne·šep̄
חִשְׁקִ֔יof my desireḥiš·qî
שָׂ֥םhas turnedśām
לִ֖י
לַחֲרָדָֽה׃to horror .la·ḥă·rā·ḏāh
Isaiah 21:5עָרֹ֧ךְThey prepare‘ā·rōḵ
הַשֻּׁלְחָ֛ן a table , haš·šul·ḥān
צָפֹ֥הthey lay outṣā·p̄ōh
הַצָּפִ֖ית a carpet , haṣ·ṣā·p̄îṯ
אָכ֣וֹל they eat , ’ā·ḵō·wl
שָׁתֹ֑הthey drink !šā·ṯōh
ק֥וּמוּ Rise up , qū·mū
הַשָּׂרִ֖ים O princes , haś·śā·rîm
מִשְׁח֥וּoilmiš·ḥū
מָגֵֽן׃פthe shields !mā·ḡên
Isaiah 21:6כִּ֣יFor
כֹ֥הthis [is what]ḵōh
אֲדֹנָ֑יthe Lord’ă·ḏō·nāy
אָמַ֛רsays’ā·mar
אֵלַ֖יto me :’ê·lay
לֵ֚ךְ “ Go , lêḵ
הַעֲמֵ֣דpostha·‘ă·mêḏ
הַֽמְצַפֶּ֔הa lookoutham·ṣap·peh
יַגִּֽיד׃[and] have him reportyag·gîḏ
אֲשֶׁ֥רwhat’ă·šer
יִרְאֶ֖הhe sees .yir·’eh
Isaiah 21:7וְרָ֣אָהWhen he seeswə·rā·’āh
רֶ֗כֶבchariotsre·ḵeḇ
צֶ֚מֶדwith teamsṣe·meḏ
פָּֽרָשִׁ֔ים of horsemen , pā·rā·šîm
רֶ֥כֶבridersre·ḵeḇ
חֲמ֖וֹר on donkeys , ḥă·mō·wr
רֶ֣כֶבridersre·ḵeḇ
גָּמָ֑ל on camels , gā·māl
וְהִקְשִׁ֥יבhe must be alertwə·hiq·šîḇ
קֶ֖שֶׁב . . . , qe·šeḇ
רַב־fullyraḇ-
קָֽשֶׁב׃alert . ”qā·šeḇ
Isaiah 21:8אַרְיֵ֑הThen the lookout’ar·yêh
וַיִּקְרָ֖אshouted :way·yiq·rā
תָּמִיד֙“ Daytā·mîḏ
יוֹמָ֔ם after day , yō·w·mām
אֲדֹנָ֗י my lord , ’ă·ḏō·nāy
אָנֹכִ֞יI’ā·nō·ḵî
עֹמֵ֤דstand‘ō·mêḏ
עַל־on‘al-
מִצְפֶּ֣ה׀the watchtower ;miṣ·peh
