וּפִתַּחְתָּ֤ remove ū·p̄it·taḥ·tā הַשַּׂק֙ the sackcloth haś·śaq מֵעַ֣ל from mê·‘al מָתְנֶ֔יךָ your waist mā·ṯə·ne·ḵā תַחֲלֹ֖ץ [and] ṯa·ḥă·lōṣ מֵעַ֣ל . . . mê·‘al וְנַעַלְךָ֥ the sandals wə·na·‘al·ḵā רַגְלֶ֑יךָ from your feet . ” raḡ·le·ḵā וַיַּ֣עַשׂ And [Isaiah] did way·ya·‘aś כֵּ֔ן so , kên הָלֹ֖ךְ walking around hā·lōḵ עָר֥וֹם naked ‘ā·rō·wm וְיָחֵֽף׃ס and barefoot . wə·yā·ḥêp̄ Isaiah 20:3 יְהוָ֔ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר “ Just as ka·’ă·šer עַבְדִּ֥י My servant ‘aḇ·dî יְשַׁעְיָ֖הוּ Isaiah yə·ša‘·yā·hū הָלַ֛ךְ has gone hā·laḵ עָר֣וֹם naked ‘ā·rō·wm וְיָחֵ֑ף and barefoot wə·yā·ḥêp̄ שָׁלֹ֤שׁ for three šā·lōš שָׁנִים֙ years šā·nîm א֣וֹת as a sign ’ō·wṯ וּמוֹפֵ֔ת and omen ū·mō·w·p̄êṯ עַל־ against ‘al- מִצְרַ֖יִם Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- כּֽוּשׁ׃ and Cush , kūš Isaiah 20:4 כֵּ֣ן so kên מֶֽלֶךְ־ the king me·leḵ- אַ֠שּׁוּר of Assyria ’aš·šūr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִנְהַ֣ג will lead away yin·haḡ שְׁבִ֨י the captives šə·ḇî מִצְרַ֜יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- גָּל֥וּת and the exiles gā·lūṯ כּ֛וּשׁ of Cush , kūš נְעָרִ֥ים young nə·‘ā·rîm וּזְקֵנִ֖ים and old alike , ū·zə·qê·nîm עָר֣וֹם naked ‘ā·rō·wm וְיָחֵ֑ף and barefoot , wə·yā·ḥêp̄ וַחֲשׂוּפַ֥י with bared wa·ḥă·śū·p̄ay שֵׁ֖ת buttocks — šêṯ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ to Egypt’s miṣ·rā·yim עֶרְוַ֥ת shame . ‘er·waṯ Isaiah 20:5 מִכּוּשׁ֙ Those who made Cush mik·kūš מַבָּטָ֔ם their hope mab·bā·ṭām וּמִן־ . . . ū·min- מִצְרַ֖יִם and Egypt miṣ·ra·yim תִּפְאַרְתָּֽם׃ their boast tip̄·’ar·tām וְחַתּ֖וּ will be dismayed wə·ḥat·tū וָבֹ֑שׁוּ and ashamed . wā·ḇō·šū Isaiah 20:6 הַהוּא֒ And on that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm יֹשֵׁ֨ב the dwellers yō·šêḇ הַזֶּה֮ of this haz·zeh הָאִ֣י coastland hā·’î וְ֠אָמַר will say , wə·’ā·mar הִנֵּה־ ‘ See hin·nêh- כֹ֣ה what has happened ḵōh מַבָּטֵ֗נוּ to our source of hope , mab·bā·ṭê·nū אֲשֶׁר־ those to whom ’ă·šer- נַ֤סְנוּ we fled nas·nū שָׁם֙ . . . šām לְעֶזְרָ֔ה for help lə·‘ez·rāh לְהִ֨נָּצֵ֔ל and deliverance lə·hin·nā·ṣêl מִפְּנֵ֖י from mip·pə·nê מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ אַשּׁ֑וּר of Assyria ! ’aš·šūr וְאֵ֖יךְ How then wə·’êḵ אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ס can we ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū נִמָּלֵ֥ט escape ? ’” nim·mā·lêṭ Isaiah 21:1 מַשָּׂ֖א [This is] the burden maś·śā מִדְבַּר־ against the Desert miḏ·bar- יָ֑ם by the Sea : yām כְּסוּפ֤וֹת Like whirlwinds kə·sū·p̄ō·wṯ לַֽחֲלֹ֔ף sweeping la·ḥă·lōp̄ בַּנֶּ֙גֶב֙ through the Negev , ban·ne·ḡeḇ בָּ֔א [an invader] comes bā מִמִּדְבָּ֣ר from the desert , mim·miḏ·bār מֵאֶ֖רֶץ from a land mê·’e·reṣ נוֹרָאָֽה׃ of terror . nō·w·rā·’āh
