עֵצָה֙ counsel ; ‘ê·ṣāh עֲשׂ֣וּ render ‘ă·śū פְלִילָ֔ה a decision . p̄ə·lî·lāh שִׁ֧יתִי . . . šî·ṯî צָהֳרָ֑יִם Shelter us at noonday ṣā·ho·rā·yim צִלֵּ֖ךְ with shade ṣil·lêḵ בְּת֣וֹךְ . . . bə·ṯō·wḵ כַלַּ֛יִל as dark as night . ḵal·la·yil סַתְּרִי֙ Hide sat·tə·rî נִדָּחִ֔ים the refugees ; nid·dā·ḥîm אַל־ do not ’al- תְּגַלִּֽי׃ betray tə·ḡal·lî נֹדֵ֖ד the one who flees . nō·ḏêḏ Isaiah 16:4 נִדָּחַ֔י Let my fugitives nid·dā·ḥay יָג֤וּרוּ stay yā·ḡū·rū בָךְ֙ with you ; ḇāḵ הֱוִי־ be hĕ·wî- סֵ֥תֶר a refuge sê·ṯer לָ֖מוֹ lā·mōw מוֹאָ֛ב for Moab mō·w·’āḇ מִפְּנֵ֣י from mip·pə·nê שׁוֹדֵ֑ד the destroyer . ” šō·w·ḏêḏ כִּֽי־ When kî- הַמֵּץ֙ the oppressor ham·mêṣ אָפֵ֤ס has gone , ’ā·p̄ês שֹׁ֔ד destruction šōḏ כָּ֣לָה has ceased , kā·lāh רֹמֵ֖ס and the oppressors rō·mês תַּ֥מּוּ have vanished tam·mū מִן־ from min- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ Isaiah 16:5 בַּחֶ֙סֶד֙ in loving devotion ba·ḥe·seḏ כִּסֵּ֔א a throne kis·sê וְהוּכַ֤ן will be established wə·hū·ḵan בְּאֹ֣הֶל in the tent bə·’ō·hel דָּוִ֑ד of David . dā·wiḏ שֹׁפֵ֛ט A judge šō·p̄êṭ וְדֹרֵ֥שׁ seeking wə·ḏō·rêš מִשְׁפָּ֖ט justice miš·pāṭ וּמְהִ֥ר and hastening ū·mə·hir צֶֽדֶק׃ righteousness ṣe·ḏeq וְיָשַׁ֥ב will sit wə·yā·šaḇ עָלָ֛יו on [it] ‘ā·lāw בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת in faithfulness . be·’ĕ·meṯ Isaiah 16:6 שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ We have heard šā·ma‘·nū מוֹאָ֖ב of Moab’s mō·w·’āḇ גְאוֹן־ pomposity , ḡə·’ō·wn- מְאֹ֑ד his exceeding mə·’ōḏ גֵּ֣א pride gê גַּאֲוָת֧וֹ [and] conceit , ga·’ă·wā·ṯōw וְעֶבְרָת֖וֹ his overflowing wə·‘eḇ·rā·ṯōw וּגְאוֹנ֛וֹ arrogance . ū·ḡə·’ō·w·nōw בַּדָּֽיו׃ס But his boasting bad·dāw לֹא־ is empty lō- כֵ֥ן . . . . ḵên Isaiah 16:7 לָכֵ֗ן Therefore lā·ḵên מוֹאָ֛ב let Moab mō·w·’āḇ יְיֵלִ֥יל wail ; yə·yê·lîl יְיֵלִ֑יל let them wail yə·yê·lîl כֻּלֹּ֣ה together kul·lōh לְמוֹאָ֖ב for Moab . lə·mō·w·’āḇ תֶּהְגּ֖וּ Moan teh·gū לַאֲשִׁישֵׁ֧י for the raisin cakes la·’ă·šî·šê קִיר־ vvv qîr- חֲרֶ֛שֶׂת of Kir-hareseth , ḥă·re·śeṯ אַךְ־ you who are utterly ’aḵ- נְכָאִֽים׃ stricken . nə·ḵā·’îm Isaiah 16:8 כִּ֣י For kî שַׁדְמוֹת֩ the fields šaḏ·mō·wṯ חֶשְׁבּ֨וֹן of Heshbon ḥeš·bō·wn אֻמְלָ֜ל have withered , ’um·lāl גֶּ֣פֶן along with the grapevines ge·p̄en שִׂבְמָ֗ה of Sibmah . śiḇ·māh בַּעֲלֵ֤י The rulers ba·‘ă·lê גוֹיִם֙ of the nations ḡō·w·yim הָלְמ֣וּ have trampled hā·lə·mū שְׂרוּקֶּ֔יהָ its choicest vines , śə·rūq·qe·hā נָגָ֖עוּ which had reached nā·ḡā·‘ū עַד־ as ‘aḏ- יַעְזֵ֥ר far as Jazer ya‘·zêr תָּ֣עוּ and spread tā·‘ū מִדְבָּ֑ר toward the desert . miḏ·bār שְׁלֻ֣חוֹתֶ֔יהָ Their shoots šə·lu·ḥō·w·ṯe·hā נִטְּשׁ֖וּ had spread out niṭ·ṭə·šū עָ֥בְרוּ and passed over ‘ā·ḇə·rū
