Isaiah 13:6 הֵילִ֕ילוּ Wail , hê·lî·lū כִּ֥י for kî י֣וֹם the Day yō·wm יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh קָר֖וֹב is near ; qā·rō·wḇ יָבֽוֹא׃ it will come yā·ḇō·w כְּשֹׁ֖ד as destruction kə·šōḏ מִשַּׁדַּ֥י from the Almighty . miš·šad·day Isaiah 13:7 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֖ן . . . kên כָּל־ all kāl- יָדַ֣יִם hands yā·ḏa·yim תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה will fall limp , tir·pe·nāh וְכָל־ and every wə·ḵāl אֱנ֖וֹשׁ man’s ’ĕ·nō·wōš לְבַ֥ב heart lə·ḇaḇ יִמָּס׃ will melt . yim·må̄s Isaiah 13:8 וְֽנִבְהָ֓לוּ׀ Terror , wə·niḇ·hā·lū צִירִ֤ים pain , ṣî·rîm וַֽחֲבָלִים֙ and anguish wa·ḥă·ḇā·lîm יֹֽאחֵז֔וּן will seize them ; yō·ḥê·zūn יְחִיל֑וּן they will writhe yə·ḥî·lūn כַּיּוֹלֵדָ֖ה like a woman in labor . kay·yō·w·lê·ḏāh אֶל־ They will look at ’el- אִ֤ישׁ one ’îš רֵעֵ֙הוּ֙ another , rê·‘ê·hū פְּנֵ֥י their faces pə·nê לְהָבִ֖ים flushed lə·hā·ḇîm פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃ . . . pə·nê·hem יִתְמָ֔הוּ with fear . yiṯ·mā·hū Isaiah 13:9 הִנֵּ֤ה Behold , hin·nêh יוֹם־ the Day yō·wm- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh בָּ֔א is coming — bā אַכְזָרִ֥י cruel , ’aḵ·zā·rî וְעֶבְרָ֖ה with fury wə·‘eḇ·rāh וַחֲר֣וֹן and burning anger wa·ḥă·rō·wn אָ֑ף . . . — ’āp̄ לָשׂ֤וּם to make lā·śūm הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ לְשַׁמָּ֔ה a desolation lə·šam·māh יַשְׁמִ֥יד and to destroy yaš·mîḏ וְחַטָּאֶ֖יהָ the sinners wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·’e·hā מִמֶּֽנָּה׃ within it . mim·men·nāh Isaiah 13:10 כִּֽי־ For kî- כוֹכְבֵ֤י the stars ḵō·wḵ·ḇê הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ of heaven haš·šā·ma·yim וּכְסִ֣ילֵיהֶ֔ם and their constellations ū·ḵə·sî·lê·hem לֹ֥א will not lō יָהֵ֖לּוּ give yā·hêl·lū אוֹרָ֑ם their light . ’ō·w·rām בְּצֵאת֔וֹ The rising bə·ṣê·ṯōw הַשֶּׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ sun haš·še·meš חָשַׁ֤ךְ will be darkened , ḥā·šaḵ וְיָרֵ֖חַ and the moon wə·yā·rê·aḥ לֹֽא־ will not lō- יַגִּ֥יהַ give yag·gî·ha אוֹרֽוֹ׃ its light . ’ō·w·rōw Isaiah 13:11 וּפָקַדְתִּ֤י I will punish ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî עַל־ - ‘al- תֵּבֵל֙ the world tê·ḇêl רָעָ֔ה [for its] evil rā·‘āh וְעַל־ and wə·‘al- רְשָׁעִ֖ים the wicked rə·šā·‘îm עֲוֺנָ֑ם for their iniquity . ‘ă·wō·nām וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ I will end wə·hiš·bat·tî גְּא֣וֹן the haughtiness gə·’ō·wn זֵדִ֔ים of the arrogant zê·ḏîm אַשְׁפִּֽיל׃ and lay low ’aš·pîl וְגַאֲוַ֥ת the pride wə·ḡa·’ă·waṯ עָרִיצִ֖ים of the ruthless . ‘ā·rî·ṣîm Isaiah 13:12 אֱנ֖וֹשׁ {I will make} man ’ĕ·nō·wōš אוֹקִ֥יר scarcer ’ō·w·qîr מִפָּ֑ז than pure gold , mip·pāz וְאָדָ֖ם and mankind wə·’ā·ḏām מִכֶּ֥תֶם rarer than the gold mik·ke·ṯem אוֹפִֽיר׃ of Ophir . ’ō·w·p̄îr Isaiah 13:13 עַל־ Therefore ‘al-
