Isaiah 10:3 וּמַֽה־ What ū·mah- תַּעֲשׂוּ֙ will you do ta·‘ă·śū לְי֣וֹם on the day lə·yō·wm פְּקֻדָּ֔ה of reckoning pə·qud·dāh וּלְשׁוֹאָ֖ה when devastation ū·lə·šō·w·’āh תָּב֑וֹא comes tā·ḇō·w מִמֶּרְחָ֣ק from afar ? mim·mer·ḥāq עַל־ To ‘al- מִי֙ whom mî תָּנ֣וּסוּ will you flee tā·nū·sū לְעֶזְרָ֔ה for help ? lə·‘ez·rāh וְאָ֥נָה Where wə·’ā·nāh תַעַזְב֖וּ will you leave ṯa·‘az·ḇū כְּבוֹדְכֶֽם׃ your wealth ? kə·ḇō·wḏ·ḵem Isaiah 10:4 בִּלְתִּ֤י Nothing will remain bil·tî כָרַע֙ but to crouch ḵā·ra‘ תַּ֣חַת among ta·ḥaṯ אַסִּ֔יר the captives ’as·sîr יִפֹּ֑לוּ or fall yip·pō·lū וְתַ֥חַת among wə·ṯa·ḥaṯ הֲרוּגִ֖ים the slain . hă·rū·ḡîm בְּכָל־ Despite all bə·ḵāl זֹאת֙ this , zōṯ אַפּ֔וֹ His anger ’ap·pōw לֹא־ is not lō- שָׁ֣ב turned away ; šāḇ יָד֥וֹ His hand yā·ḏōw וְע֖וֹד is still wə·‘ō·wḏ נְטוּיָֽה׃ס upraised . nə·ṭū·yāh Isaiah 10:5 ה֥וֹי Woe hō·w אַשּׁ֖וּר to Assyria , ’aš·šūr שֵׁ֣בֶט the rod šê·ḇeṭ אַפִּ֑י of My anger ; ’ap·pî וּמַטֶּה־ the staff ū·maṭ·ṭeh- ה֥וּא . . . hū בְיָדָ֖ם in their hands ḇə·yā·ḏām זַעְמִֽי׃ is My wrath . za‘·mî Isaiah 10:6 אֲשַׁלְּחֶ֔נּוּ I will send him ’ă·šal·lə·ḥen·nū חָנֵף֙ against a godless ḥā·nêp̄ בְּג֤וֹי nation ; bə·ḡō·w אֲצַוֶּ֑נּוּ I will dispatch him ’ă·ṣaw·wen·nū וְעַל־ against wə·‘al- עַ֥ם a people ‘am עֶבְרָתִ֖י destined for My rage , ‘eḇ·rā·ṯî לִשְׁלֹ֤ל to take liš·lōl שָׁלָל֙ spoils šā·lāl וְלָבֹ֣ז and seize wə·lā·ḇōz בַּ֔ז plunder , baz וּלְשִׂימוֹ and to trample them down ū·lə·śī·mō מִרְמָ֖ס . . . mir·mās כְּחֹ֥מֶר like clay kə·ḥō·mer חוּצֽוֹת׃ in the streets . ḥū·ṣō·wṯ Isaiah 10:7 וְהוּא֙ But this wə·hū לֹא־ is not lō- כֵ֣ן vvv ḵên יְדַמֶּ֔ה his intention ; yə·ḏam·meh לֹא־ this is not lō- וּלְבָב֖וֹ his plan ū·lə·ḇā·ḇōw כֵ֣ן . . . ḵên יַחְשֹׁ֑ב . . . . yaḥ·šōḇ כִּ֚י For kî בִּלְבָב֔וֹ [it is] in his heart bil·ḇā·ḇōw לְהַשְׁמִ֣יד to destroy lə·haš·mîḏ וּלְהַכְרִ֥ית and cut off ū·lə·haḵ·rîṯ לֹ֥א many lō מְעָֽט׃ . . . mə·‘āṭ גּוֹיִ֖ם nations . gō·w·yim Isaiah 10:8 הֲלֹ֥א “ Are not hă·lō יַחְדָּ֖ו all yaḥ·dāw שָׂרַ֛י my commanders śā·ray מְלָכִֽים׃ kings ? ” mə·lā·ḵîm כִּ֖י - kî יֹאמַ֑ר he says . yō·mar Isaiah 10:9 הֲלֹ֥א “ Is not hă·lō כַּלְנ֑וֹ Calno kal·nōw אִם־ . . . ’im- כְּכַרְכְּמִ֖ישׁ like Carchemish ? kə·ḵar·kə·mîš לֹ֤א Is not lō חֲמָ֔ת Hamath ḥă·māṯ אִם־ . . . ’im- כְאַרְפַּד֙ like Arpad ? ḵə·’ar·paḏ
