וְע֖וֹד is still wə·‘ō·wḏ נְטוּיָֽה׃ upraised . nə·ṭū·yāh Isaiah 9:18 כִּֽי־ For kî- רִשְׁעָ֔ה wickedness riš·‘āh בָעֲרָ֤ה burns ḇā·‘ă·rāh כָאֵשׁ֙ like a fire ḵā·’êš תֹּאכֵ֑ל that consumes tō·ḵêl וָשַׁ֖יִת the thorns wā·ša·yiṯ שָׁמִ֥יר and briers šā·mîr וַתִּצַּת֙ and kindles wat·tiṣ·ṣaṯ הַיַּ֔עַר the forest hay·ya·‘ar בְּסִֽבְכֵ֣י thickets bə·siḇ·ḵê וַיִּֽתְאַבְּכ֖וּ which roll upward way·yiṯ·’ab·bə·ḵū גֵּא֥וּת in billows gê·’ūṯ עָשָֽׁן׃ of smoke . ‘ā·šān Isaiah 9:19 בְּעֶבְרַ֛ת By the wrath bə·‘eḇ·raṯ יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָ֑רֶץ the land ’ā·reṣ נֶעְתַּ֣ם is scorched , ne‘·tam הָעָם֙ and the people hā·‘ām וַיְהִ֤י are way·hî כְּמַאֲכֹ֣לֶת fuel kə·ma·’ă·ḵō·leṯ אֵ֔שׁ for the fire . ’êš לֹ֥א No lō אִ֥ישׁ man ’îš יַחְמֹֽלוּ׃ even spares yaḥ·mō·lū אֶל־ . . . ’el- אָחִ֖יו his brother . ’ā·ḥîw Isaiah 9:20 וַיִּגְזֹ֤ר They carve out way·yiḡ·zōr עַל־ what is on ‘al- יָמִין֙ the right , yā·mîn וְרָעֵ֔ב but they are still hungry ; wə·rā·‘êḇ וַיֹּ֥אכַל they eat way·yō·ḵal עַל־ what is on ‘al- שְׂמֹ֖אול the left , śə·mō·wl וְלֹ֣א but they are still not wə·lō שָׂבֵ֑עוּ satisfied . śā·ḇê·‘ū אִ֥ישׁ Each one ’îš יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ devours yō·ḵê·lū בְּשַׂר־ the flesh bə·śar- זְרֹע֖וֹ of his own offspring . zə·rō·‘ōw Isaiah 9:21 מְנַשֶּׁ֣ה Manasseh mə·naš·šeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶפְרַ֗יִם [devours] Ephraim , ’ep̄·ra·yim וְאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ and Ephraim wə·’ep̄·ra·yim אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה Manasseh ; mə·naš·šeh יַחְדָּ֥ו together yaḥ·dāw הֵ֖מָּה . . . hêm·māh עַל־ they turn against ‘al- יְהוּדָ֑ה Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh בְּכָל־ Despite all bə·ḵāl זֹאת֙ this , zōṯ אַפּ֔וֹ His anger ’ap·pōw לֹא־ is not lō- שָׁ֣ב turned away ; šāḇ יָד֥וֹ His hand yā·ḏōw וְע֖וֹד is still wə·‘ō·wḏ נְטוּיָֽה׃ס upraised . nə·ṭū·yāh Isaiah 10:1 ה֥וֹי Woe hō·w הַחֹֽקְקִ֖ים to those who enact ha·ḥō·qə·qîm אָ֑וֶן unjust ’ā·wen חִקְקֵי־ statutes ḥiq·qê- וּֽמְכַתְּבִ֥ים and issue ū·mə·ḵat·tə·ḇîm עָמָ֖ל oppressive ‘ā·māl כִּתֵּֽבוּ׃ decrees , kit·tê·ḇū Isaiah 10:2 לְהַטּ֤וֹת to deprive lə·haṭ·ṭō·wṯ דַּלִּ֔ים the poor dal·lîm מִדִּין֙ of fair treatment mid·dîn וְלִגְזֹ֕ל and withhold wə·liḡ·zōl מִשְׁפַּ֖ט justice miš·paṭ עֲנִיֵּ֣י from the oppressed ‘ă·nî·yê עַמִּ֑י of My people , ‘am·mî לִהְי֤וֹת to make lih·yō·wṯ אַלְמָנוֹת֙ widows ’al·mā·nō·wṯ שְׁלָלָ֔ם their prey šə·lā·lām וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- יְתוֹמִ֖ים orphans yə·ṯō·w·mîm יָבֹֽזּוּ׃ their plunder . yā·ḇōz·zū
