בְּרַ֔עַשׁ of battle bə·ra·‘aš וְשִׂמְלָ֖ה and [every] garment wə·śim·lāh מְגוֹלָלָ֣ה rolled mə·ḡō·w·lā·lāh בְדָמִ֑ים in blood ḇə·ḏā·mîm וְהָיְתָ֥ה will be wə·hā·yə·ṯāh לִשְׂרֵפָ֖ה burned liś·rê·p̄āh מַאֲכֹ֥לֶת as fuel ma·’ă·ḵō·leṯ אֵֽשׁ׃ for the fire . ’êš Isaiah 9:6 כִּי־ For kî- לָ֗נוּ unto us lā·nū יֶ֣לֶד a child ye·leḏ יֻלַּד־ is born , yul·laḏ- לָ֔נוּ unto us lā·nū בֵּ֚ן a son bên נִתַּן־ is given , nit·tan- הַמִּשְׂרָ֖ה and the government ham·miś·rāh וַתְּהִ֥י will be wat·tə·hî עַל־ upon ‘al- שִׁכְמ֑וֹ His shoulders . šiḵ·mōw וַיִּקְרָ֨א And He will be called way·yiq·rā שְׁמ֜וֹ . . . šə·mōw פֶּ֠לֶא Wonderful pe·le יוֹעֵץ֙ Counselor , yō·w·‘êṣ גִּבּ֔וֹר Mighty gib·bō·wr אֵ֣ל God , ’êl אֲבִיעַ֖ד Everlasting Father , ’ă·ḇî·‘aḏ שַׂר־ Prince śar- שָׁלֽוֹם׃ of Peace . šā·lō·wm Isaiah 9:7 לְםַרְבֵּה Of the increase lə·mar·bēh הַמִּשְׂרָ֜ה of [His] government ham·miś·rāh וּלְשָׁל֣וֹם and peace ū·lə·šā·lō·wm אֵֽין־ [there will be] no ’ên- קֵ֗ץ end . qêṣ עַל־ He will reign on ‘al- כִּסֵּ֤א the throne kis·sê דָוִד֙ of David ḏā·wiḏ וְעַל־ and over wə·‘al- מַמְלַכְתּ֔וֹ his kingdom , mam·laḵ·tōw לְהָכִ֤ין to establish lə·hā·ḵîn אֹתָהּ֙ - ’ō·ṯāh וּֽלְסַעֲדָ֔הּ and sustain it ū·lə·sa·‘ă·ḏāh בְּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט with justice bə·miš·pāṭ וּבִצְדָקָ֑ה and righteousness ū·ḇiṣ·ḏā·qāh מֵעַתָּה֙ from that time mê·‘at·tāh וְעַד־ and forevermore wə·‘aḏ- עוֹלָ֔ם . . . . ‘ō·w·lām קִנְאַ֛ת The zeal qin·’aṯ יְהוָ֥ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ תַּעֲשֶׂה־ will accomplish ta·‘ă·śeh- זֹּֽאת׃ס this . zōṯ Isaiah 9:8 אֲדֹנָ֖י The Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy שָׁלַ֥ח has sent šā·laḥ דָּבָ֛ר a message dā·ḇār בְּיַעֲקֹ֑ב against Jacob , bə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ וְנָפַ֖ל and it has fallen wə·nā·p̄al בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ upon Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl Isaiah 9:9 כֻּלּ֔וֹ All kul·lōw הָעָ֣ם the people hā·‘ām וְיָדְעוּ֙ will know it — wə·yā·ḏə·‘ū אֶפְרַ֖יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim וְיוֹשֵׁ֣ב and the dwellers wə·yō·wō·šêḇ שֹׁמְר֑וֹן of Samaria . šō·mə·rō·wn בְּגַאֲוָ֛ה With pride bə·ḡa·’ă·wāh וּבְגֹ֥דֶל and arrogance ū·ḇə·ḡō·ḏel לֵבָ֖ב of heart lê·ḇāḇ לֵאמֹֽר׃ they will say : lê·mōr Isaiah 9:10 לְבֵנִ֥ים “ The bricks lə·ḇê·nîm נָפָ֖לוּ have fallen , nā·p̄ā·lū נִבְנֶ֑ה but we will rebuild niḇ·neh וְגָזִ֣ית with finished stone ; wə·ḡā·zîṯ שִׁקְמִ֣ים the sycamores šiq·mîm גֻּדָּ֔עוּ have been felled , gud·dā·‘ū נַחֲלִֽיף׃ but we will replace them na·ḥă·lîp̄ וַאֲרָזִ֖ים with cedars . ” wa·’ă·rā·zîm Isaiah 9:11 יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְשַׂגֵּ֧ב has raised up way·śag·gêḇ צָרֵ֥י the foes ṣā·rê רְצִ֖ין of Rezin rə·ṣîn עָלָ֑יו against him ‘ā·lāw וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ-
