וַיָּ֤נַע trembled way·yā·na‘ עֲצֵי־ like trees ‘ă·ṣê- יַ֖עַר in the forest ya·‘ar מִפְּנֵי־ . . . mip·pə·nê- כְּנ֥וֹעַ shaken kə·nō·w·a‘ רֽוּחַ׃ by the wind . rū·aḥ Isaiah 7:3 יְהוָה֮ Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- יְשַׁעְיָהוּ֒ Isaiah , yə·ša‘·yā·hū צֵא־ “ Go out ṣê- נָא֙ . . . nā בְּנֶ֑ךָ with your son bə·ne·ḵā וּשְׁאָ֖ר vvv ū·šə·’ār יָשׁ֣וּב Shear-jashub yā·šūḇ לִקְרַ֣את to meet liq·raṯ אָחָ֔ז Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz אַתָּ֕ה . . . ’at·tāh אֶל־ at ’el- קְצֵ֗ה the end qə·ṣêh תְּעָלַת֙ of the aqueduct tə·‘ā·laṯ הָעֶלְיוֹנָ֔ה [that feeds] the upper hā·‘el·yō·w·nāh הַבְּרֵכָ֣ה pool , hab·bə·rê·ḵāh אֶל־ on ’el- מְסִלַּ֖ת the road mə·sil·laṯ כוֹבֵֽס׃ to the Launderer’s ḵō·w·ḇês שְׂדֵ֥ה Field , śə·ḏêh Isaiah 7:4 וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ and say wə·’ā·mar·tā אֵ֠לָיו to him : ’ê·lāw הִשָּׁמֵ֨ר Calm down hiš·šā·mêr וְהַשְׁקֵ֜ט and be quiet . wə·haš·qêṭ אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּירָ֗א be afraid tî·rā וּלְבָבְךָ֙ or disheartened ū·lə·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā אַל־ . . . ’al- יֵרַ֔ךְ . . . yê·raḵ הָאֵ֑לֶּה over these hā·’êl·leh מִשְּׁנֵ֨י two miš·šə·nê הָעֲשֵׁנִ֖ים smoldering hā·‘ă·šê·nîm זַנְב֧וֹת stubs zan·ḇō·wṯ הָאוּדִ֛ים of firewood — hā·’ū·ḏîm בָּחֳרִי־ over the fierce bā·ḥo·rî- אַ֛ף anger ’ap̄ רְצִ֥ין of Rezin rə·ṣîn וַאֲרָ֖ם and Aram wa·’ă·rām וּבֶן־ and of the son ū·ḇen- רְמַלְיָֽהוּ׃ of Remaliah . rə·mal·yā·hū Isaiah 7:5 יַ֗עַן For ya·‘an כִּֽי־ . . . kî- אֲרָ֖ם Aram , ’ă·rām אֶפְרַ֥יִם along with Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim וּבֶן־ and the son ū·ḇen- רְמַלְיָ֖הוּ of Remaliah , rə·mal·yā·hū יָעַ֥ץ has plotted yā·‘aṣ רָעָ֑ה your ruin rā·‘āh עָלֶ֛יךָ . . . , ‘ā·le·ḵā לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying : lê·mōr Isaiah 7:6 נַעֲלֶ֤ה ‘ Let us invade na·‘ă·leh בִֽיהוּדָה֙ Judah , ḇî·hū·ḏāh וּנְקִיצֶ֔נָּה terrorize it , ū·nə·qî·ṣen·nāh וְנַבְקִעֶ֖נָּה and divide it wə·naḇ·qi·‘en·nāh אֵלֵ֑ינוּ among ourselves . ’ê·lê·nū מֶ֙לֶךְ֙ Then we can install me·leḵ בֶּן־ the son ben- טָֽבְאַֽל׃ס of Tabeal ṭā·ḇə·’al בְּתוֹכָ֔הּ over it bə·ṯō·w·ḵāh אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ וְנַמְלִ֥יךְ as king . ’ wə·nam·lîḵ Isaiah 7:7 כֹּ֥ה But this is what kōh אֲדֹנָ֣י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֖ר says : ’ā·mar לֹ֥א ‘ It will not lō תָק֖וּם arise ; ṯā·qūm וְלֹ֥א it will not wə·lō תִֽהְיֶֽה׃ happen . ṯih·yeh Isaiah 7:8 כִּ֣י For kî רֹ֤אשׁ the head rōš אֲרָם֙ of Aram ’ă·rām דַּמֶּ֔שֶׂק is Damascus , dam·me·śeq וְרֹ֥אשׁ [and] the head wə·rōš דַּמֶּ֖שֶׂק of Damascus dam·me·śeq
