בְעֵינָ֜יו with their eyes , ḇə·‘ê·nāw יִשְׁמָ֗ע hear yiš·mā‘ וּבְאָזְנָ֣יו with their ears , ū·ḇə·’ā·zə·nāw יָבִ֛ין understand yā·ḇîn וּלְבָב֥וֹ with their hearts , ū·lə·ḇā·ḇōw וָשָׁ֖ב and turn wā·šāḇ וְרָ֥פָא and be healed . ” wə·rā·p̄ā לֽוֹ׃ lōw Isaiah 6:11 וָאֹמַ֕ר Then I asked : wā·’ō·mar עַד־ “ How long ‘aḏ- מָתַ֖י . . . , mā·ṯay אֲדֹנָ֑י O Lord ? ” ’ă·ḏō·nāy וַיֹּ֡אמֶר And He replied : way·yō·mer עַ֣ד “ Until ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁר֩ - ’ă·šer אִם־ - ’im- עָרִ֜ים the cities ‘ā·rîm שָׁא֨וּ lie ruined šā·’ū מֵאֵ֣ין and without mê·’ên יוֹשֵׁ֗ב inhabitant , yō·wō·šêḇ וּבָתִּים֙ until the houses ū·ḇāt·tîm מֵאֵ֣ין are left unoccupied mê·’ên אָדָ֔ם . . . ’ā·ḏām וְהָאֲדָמָ֖ה and the land wə·hā·’ă·ḏā·māh תִּשָּׁאֶ֥ה is desolate tiš·šā·’eh שְׁמָמָֽה׃ and ravaged , šə·mā·māh Isaiah 6:12 יְהוָ֖ה until YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָדָ֑ם has driven men hā·’ā·ḏām וְרִחַ֥ק far away wə·ri·ḥaq הָאָֽרֶץ׃ and the land hā·’ā·reṣ וְרַבָּ֥ה is utterly wə·rab·bāh הָעֲזוּבָ֖ה forsaken hā·‘ă·zū·ḇāh בְּקֶ֥רֶב . . . . bə·qe·reḇ Isaiah 6:13 וְע֥וֹד And though wə·‘ō·wḏ עֲשִׂ֣רִיָּ֔ה a tenth [remains] ‘ă·śi·rî·yāh בָּהּ֙ in [the land] , bāh וְהָיְתָ֣ה it will be wə·hā·yə·ṯāh לְבָעֵ֑ר burned lə·ḇā·‘êr וְשָׁ֖בָה again . wə·šā·ḇāh כָּאֵלָ֣ה As the terebinth kā·’ê·lāh וְכָאַלּ֗וֹן and oak wə·ḵā·’al·lō·wn אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer מַצֶּ֣בֶת leave stumps maṣ·ṣe·ḇeṯ בָּ֔ם bām בְּשַׁלֶּ֙כֶת֙ when felled , bə·šal·le·ḵeṯ קֹ֖דֶשׁ so the holy qō·ḏeš זֶ֥רַע seed ze·ra‘ מַצַּבְתָּֽהּ׃פ will be a stump [in the land] . ” maṣ·ṣaḇ·tāh Isaiah 7:1 וַיְהִ֡י Now way·hî בִּימֵ֣י in the days that bî·mê אָ֠חָז Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz בֶּן־ son ben- יוֹתָ֨ם of Jotham , yō·w·ṯām בֶּן־ the son ben- עֻזִּיָּ֜הוּ of Uzziah , ‘uz·zî·yā·hū מֶ֣לֶךְ [was] king me·leḵ יְהוּדָ֗ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh רְצִ֣ין Rezin rə·ṣîn מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אֲ֠רָם of Aram ’ă·rām עָלָ֣ה marched up ‘ā·lāh לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה to [wage] war lam·mil·ḥā·māh עָלֶ֑יהָ against ‘ā·le·hā יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim וּפֶ֨קַח He was accompanied by Pekah ū·p̄e·qaḥ בֶּן־ son ben- רְמַלְיָ֤הוּ of Remaliah rə·mal·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl יָכֹ֖ל but he could yā·ḵōl וְלֹ֥א not wə·lō לְהִלָּחֵ֥ם overpower lə·hil·lā·ḥêm עָלֶֽיהָ׃ [the city] . ‘ā·le·hā Isaiah 7:2 וַיֻּגַּ֗ד When it was reported way·yug·gaḏ לְבֵ֤ית to the house lə·ḇêṯ דָּוִד֙ of David dā·wiḏ לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr אֲרָ֖ם that Aram ’ă·rām עַל־ . . . ‘al- נָ֥חָֽה was in league with nā·ḥāh אֶפְרָ֑יִם Ephraim , ’ep̄·rā·yim לְבָבוֹ֙ the hearts lə·ḇā·ḇōw וּלְבַ֣ב of Ahaz ū·lə·ḇaḇ עַמּ֔וֹ and his people ‘am·mōw
