כֶּאֱכֹ֨ל consumes ke·’ĕ·ḵōl קַ֜שׁ the straw , qaš וַחֲשַׁ֤שׁ and as dry grass wa·ḥă·šaš יִרְפֶּ֔ה shrivels yir·peh לֶֽהָבָה֙ in the flame , le·hā·ḇāh שָׁרְשָׁם֙ so their roots šā·rə·šām יִֽהְיֶ֔ה will decay yih·yeh כַּמָּ֣ק . . . kam·māq וּפִרְחָ֖ם and their blossoms ū·p̄ir·ḥām יַעֲלֶ֑ה will blow away ya·‘ă·leh כָּאָבָ֣ק like dust ; kā·’ā·ḇāq כִּ֣י for kî מָאֲס֗וּ they have rejected mā·’ă·sū אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ תּוֹרַת֙ the instruction tō·w·raṯ יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ וְאֵ֛ת - wə·’êṯ נִאֵֽצוּ׃ and despised ni·’ê·ṣū אִמְרַ֥ת the word ’im·raṯ קְדֽוֹשׁ־ of the Holy qə·ḏō·wōš- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל One of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Isaiah 5:25 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֡ן . . . kên אַף־ the anger ’ap̄- יְהוָ֨ה of YHWH Yah·weh חָרָה֩ burns ḥā·rāh בְּעַמּ֜וֹ against His people ; bə·‘am·mōw יָד֧וֹ His hand yā·ḏōw וַיֵּ֣ט is raised way·yêṭ עָלָ֣יו against them ‘ā·lāw וַיַּכֵּ֗הוּ to strike them down . way·yak·kê·hū הֶֽהָרִ֔ים The mountains he·hā·rîm וַֽיִּרְגְּזוּ֙ quake , way·yir·gə·zū נִבְלָתָ֛ם and the corpses niḇ·lā·ṯām וַתְּהִ֧י lay wat·tə·hî כַּסּוּחָ֖ה like refuse kas·sū·ḥāh בְּקֶ֣רֶב in bə·qe·reḇ חוּצ֑וֹת the streets . ḥū·ṣō·wṯ בְּכָל־ Despite all bə·ḵāl זֹאת֙ this , zōṯ אַפּ֔וֹ His anger ’ap·pōw לֹא־ is not lō- שָׁ֣ב turned away ; šāḇ יָד֥וֹ His hand yā·ḏōw וְע֖וֹד is still wə·‘ō·wḏ נְטוּיָֽה׃ upraised . nə·ṭū·yāh Isaiah 5:26 וְנָֽשָׂא־ He lifts wə·nā·śā- נֵ֤ס a banner nês מֵרָח֔וֹק for the distant mê·rā·ḥō·wq לַגּוֹיִם֙ nations lag·gō·w·yim וְשָׁ֥רַק and whistles wə·šā·raq ל֖וֹ for those lōw מִקְצֵ֣ה at the ends miq·ṣêh הָאָ֑רֶץ of the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ וְהִנֵּ֥ה Behold — wə·hin·nêh מְהֵרָ֖ה how speedily mə·hê·rāh קַ֥ל and swiftly qal יָבֽוֹא׃ they come ! yā·ḇō·w Isaiah 5:27 אֵין־ None ’ên- בּ֔וֹ of them bōw עָיֵ֤ף grows weary ‘ā·yêp̄ וְאֵין־ [or] wə·’ên- כּוֹשֵׁל֙ stumbles ; kō·wō·šêl לֹ֥א no lō יָנ֖וּם one slumbers yā·nūm וְלֹ֣א or wə·lō יִישָׁ֑ן sleeps . yî·šān וְלֹ֤א No wə·lō אֵז֣וֹר belt ’ê·zō·wr חֲלָצָ֔יו . . . ḥă·lā·ṣāw נִפְתַּח֙ is loose nip̄·taḥ וְלֹ֥א and no wə·lō נְעָלָֽיו׃ sandal nə·‘ā·lāw שְׂר֥וֹךְ strap śə·rō·wḵ נִתַּ֖ק is broken . nit·taq Isaiah 5:28 אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer חִצָּיו֙ Their arrows ḥiṣ·ṣāw שְׁנוּנִ֔ים are sharpened , šə·nū·nîm וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl קַשְּׁתֹתָ֖יו their bows qaš·šə·ṯō·ṯāw דְּרֻכ֑וֹת are strung . də·ru·ḵō·wṯ פַּרְס֤וֹת The hooves par·sō·wṯ סוּסָיו֙ of their horses sū·sāw כַּצַּ֣ר are like flint ; kaṣ·ṣar נֶחְשָׁ֔בוּ . . . neḥ·šā·ḇū וְגַלְגִּלָּ֖יו their chariot wheels wə·ḡal·gil·lāw כַּסּוּפָֽה׃ [are] like a whirlwind . kas·sū·p̄āh
