קָצִ֖ין leader ! qā·ṣîn תַּ֥חַת vvv ta·ḥaṯ יָדֶֽךָ׃ Take charge yā·ḏe·ḵā הַזֹּ֖את of this haz·zōṯ וְהַמַּכְשֵׁלָ֥ה heap of rubble . ” wə·ham·maḵ·šê·lāh Isaiah 3:7 הַה֤וּא׀ On that ha·hū בַיּ֨וֹם day ḇay·yō·wm יִשָּׂא֩ he will cry aloud yiś·śā לֵאמֹר֙ - : lê·mōr אֶהְיֶ֣ה “ I am ’eh·yeh לֹא־ not lō- חֹבֵ֔שׁ a healer . ḥō·ḇêš אֵ֥ין I have no ’ên לֶ֖חֶם food le·ḥem וְאֵ֣ין . . . wə·’ên שִׂמְלָ֑ה or clothing śim·lāh וּבְבֵיתִ֕י in my house . ū·ḇə·ḇê·ṯî לֹ֥א Do not lō תְשִׂימֻ֖נִי make me ṯə·śî·mu·nî קְצִ֥ין leader qə·ṣîn עָֽם׃ of the people ! ” ‘ām Isaiah 3:8 כִּ֤י For kî יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim כָשְׁלָה֙ has stumbled ḵā·šə·lāh וִיהוּדָ֖ה and Judah wî·hū·ḏāh נָפָ֑ל has fallen nā·p̄āl כִּֽי־ because kî- לְשׁוֹנָ֤ם they spoke lə·šō·w·nām וּמַֽעַלְלֵיהֶם֙ and acted ū·ma·‘al·lê·hem אֶל־ against ’el- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh לַמְר֖וֹת defying lam·rō·wṯ כְבוֹדֽוֹ׃ His glorious ḵə·ḇō·w·ḏōw עֵנֵ֥י presence . ‘ê·nê Isaiah 3:9 הַכָּרַ֤ת The expression hak·kā·raṯ פְּנֵיהֶם֙ on their faces pə·nê·hem עָ֣נְתָה testifies ‘ā·nə·ṯāh בָּ֔ם against them , bām כִּסְדֹ֥ם and like Sodom kis·ḏōm הִגִּ֖ידוּ they flaunt hig·gî·ḏū וְחַטָּאתָ֛ם their sin ; wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯām לֹ֣א they do not lō כִחֵ֑דוּ conceal it . ḵi·ḥê·ḏū א֣וֹי Woe ’ō·w לְנַפְשָׁ֔ם to them , lə·nap̄·šām כִּֽי־ for kî- גָמְל֥וּ they have brought ḡā·mə·lū רָעָֽה׃ disaster rā·‘āh לָהֶ֖ם upon themselves . lā·hem Isaiah 3:10 אִמְר֥וּ Tell ’im·rū צַדִּ֖יק the righteous ṣad·dîq כִּי־ - kî- ט֑וֹב it will be well ṭō·wḇ כִּֽי־ with them , kî- יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ for they will enjoy yō·ḵê·lū פְרִ֥י the fruit p̄ə·rî מַעַלְלֵיהֶ֖ם of their labor . ma·‘al·lê·hem Isaiah 3:11 א֖וֹי Woe ’ō·w לְרָשָׁ֣ע to the wicked ; lə·rā·šā‘ רָ֑ע disaster is rā‘ כִּֽי־ upon them ! kî- גְמ֥וּל For they will be repaid ḡə·mūl יָדָ֖יו with what their hands yā·ḏāw יֵעָ֥שֶׂה have done yê·‘ā·śeh לּֽוֹ׃ . lōw Isaiah 3:12 מְעוֹלֵ֔ל Youths mə·‘ō·w·lêl נֹגְשָׂ֣יו oppress nō·ḡə·śāw עַמִּי֙ My people , ‘am·mî וְנָשִׁ֖ים and women wə·nā·šîm מָ֣שְׁלוּ rule mā·šə·lū ב֑וֹ over them . ḇōw עַמִּי֙ O My people , ‘am·mî מְאַשְּׁרֶ֣יךָ your guides mə·’aš·šə·re·ḵā מַתְעִ֔ים mislead you ; maṯ·‘îm בִּלֵּֽעוּ׃ס they turn you bil·lê·‘ū וְדֶ֥רֶךְ . . . wə·ḏe·reḵ אֹֽרְחֹתֶ֖יךָ from your paths . ’ō·rə·ḥō·ṯe·ḵā Isaiah 3:13 יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh נִצָּ֥ב arises niṣ·ṣāḇ
