הַסְּלָעִ֑ים in the cliffs , has·sə·lā·‘îm מִפְּנֵ֞י away from mip·pə·nê פַּ֤חַד the terror pa·ḥaḏ יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh וּמֵהֲדַ֣ר and from the splendor ū·mê·hă·ḏar גְּאוֹנ֔וֹ of His majesty , gə·’ō·w·nōw בְּקוּמ֖וֹ when He rises bə·qū·mōw לַעֲרֹ֥ץ to shake la·‘ă·rōṣ הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ Isaiah 2:22 חִדְל֤וּ Put no more trust ḥiḏ·lū לָכֶם֙ lā·ḵem מִן־ in min- הָ֣אָדָ֔ם man , hā·’ā·ḏām אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer נְשָׁמָ֖ה has only the breath nə·šā·māh בְּאַפּ֑וֹ in his nostrils . bə·’ap·pōw כִּֽי־ . . . kî- בַמֶּ֥ה Of what ḇam·meh נֶחְשָׁ֖ב account neḥ·šāḇ הֽוּא׃פ is he ? hū Isaiah 3:1 כִּי֩ For kî הִנֵּ֨ה behold , hin·nêh הָאָד֜וֹן the Lord hā·’ā·ḏō·wn יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֗וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ מֵסִ֤יר is about to remove mê·sîr מִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ from Jerusalem mî·rū·šā·lim וּמִ֣יהוּדָ֔ה and Judah ū·mî·hū·ḏāh מַשְׁעֵ֖ן both supply maš·‘ên וּמַשְׁעֵנָ֑ה and support : ū·maš·‘ê·nāh כֹּ֚ל the whole kōl מִשְׁעַן־ supply miš·‘an- לֶ֔חֶם of food le·ḥem וְכֹ֖ל . . . wə·ḵōl מִשְׁעַן־ . . . miš·‘an- מָֽיִם׃ and water , mā·yim Isaiah 3:2 גִּבּ֖וֹר the mighty man gib·bō·wr וְאִ֣ישׁ and the warrior wə·’îš מִלְחָמָ֑ה . . . , mil·ḥā·māh שׁוֹפֵ֥ט the judge šō·w·p̄êṭ וְנָבִ֖יא and the prophet , wə·nā·ḇî וְקֹסֵ֥ם the soothsayer wə·qō·sêm וְזָקֵֽן׃ and the elder , wə·zā·qên Isaiah 3:3 שַׂר־ the commander śar- חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים of fifty ḥă·miš·šîm וּנְשׂ֣וּא and the dignitary ū·nə·śū פָנִ֑ים . . . , p̄ā·nîm וְיוֹעֵ֛ץ the counselor , wə·yō·w·‘êṣ וַחֲכַ֥ם the cunning wa·ḥă·ḵam חֲרָשִׁ֖ים magician , ḥă·rā·šîm וּנְב֥וֹן and the clever ū·nə·ḇō·wn לָֽחַשׁ׃ enchanter . lā·ḥaš Isaiah 3:4 וְנָתַתִּ֥י “ I will make wə·nā·ṯat·tî נְעָרִ֖ים mere lads nə·‘ā·rîm שָׂרֵיהֶ֑ם their leaders , śā·rê·hem וְתַעֲלוּלִ֖ים and children wə·ṯa·‘ă·lū·lîm יִמְשְׁלוּ־ will rule yim·šə·lū- בָֽם׃ over them . ” ḇām Isaiah 3:5 הָעָ֔ם The people hā·‘ām וְנִגַּ֣שׂ will oppress one another , wə·nig·gaś אִ֥ישׁ man ’îš בְּאִ֖ישׁ against man , bə·’îš וְאִ֣ישׁ neighbor wə·’îš בְּרֵעֵ֑הוּ against neighbor ; bə·rê·‘ê·hū הַנַּ֙עַר֙ the young han·na·‘ar יִרְהֲב֗וּ will rise up yir·hă·ḇū בַּזָּקֵ֔ן against the old , baz·zā·qên וְהַנִּקְלֶ֖ה and the base wə·han·niq·leh בַּנִּכְבָּֽד׃ against the honorable . ban·niḵ·bāḏ Isaiah 3:6 אִ֤ישׁ A man ’îš כִּֽי־ - kî- יִתְפֹּ֨שׂ will seize yiṯ·pōś בְּאָחִיו֙ his brother bə·’ā·ḥîw אָבִ֔יו within his father’s ’ā·ḇîw בֵּ֣ית house : bêṯ שִׂמְלָ֣ה “ You have a cloak — śim·lāh לְכָ֔ה . . . lə·ḵāh תִּֽהְיֶה־ you be tih·yeh- לָּ֑נוּ our lā·nū
