בִּגְבוּרָ֖ה for strength biḡ·ḇū·rāh וְלֹ֥א and not wə·lō בַשְּׁתִֽי׃ for drunkenness . ḇaš·šə·ṯî Ecclesiastes 10:18 בַּעֲצַלְתַּ֖יִם Through laziness ba·‘ă·ṣal·ta·yim הַמְּקָרֶ֑ה the roof ham·mə·qā·reh יִמַּ֣ךְ caves in , yim·maḵ יָדַ֖יִם and in the hands yā·ḏa·yim וּבְשִׁפְל֥וּת of the idle , ū·ḇə·šip̄·lūṯ הַבָּֽיִת׃ the house hab·bā·yiṯ יִדְלֹ֥ף leaks . yiḏ·lōp̄ Ecclesiastes 10:19 לֶ֔חֶם A feast le·ḥem עֹשִׂ֣ים is prepared ‘ō·śîm לִשְׂחוֹק֙ for laughter , liś·ḥō·wq וְיַ֖יִן and wine wə·ya·yin חַיִּ֑ים makes life ḥay·yîm יְשַׂמַּ֣ח merry , yə·śam·maḥ וְהַכֶּ֖סֶף but money wə·hak·ke·sep̄ יַעֲנֶ֥ה is the answer ya·‘ă·neh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַכֹּֽל׃ for everything . hak·kōl Ecclesiastes 10:20 אַל־ Do not ’al- תְּקַלֵּ֔ל curse tə·qal·lêl מֶ֚לֶךְ the king me·leḵ גַּ֣ם even gam בְּמַדָּֽעֲךָ֗ in your thoughts , bə·mad·dā·‘ă·ḵā אַל־ [or] ’al- תְּקַלֵּ֖ל curse tə·qal·lêl עָשִׁ֑יר the rich ‘ā·šîr וּבְחַדְרֵי֙ even in your bedroom ū·ḇə·ḥaḏ·rê מִשְׁכָּ֣בְךָ֔ . . . , miš·kā·ḇə·ḵā כִּ֣י for kî ע֤וֹף a bird ‘ō·wp̄ הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ of the air haš·šā·ma·yim יוֹלִ֣יךְ may carry yō·w·lîḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַקּ֔וֹל your words , haq·qō·wl וּבַ֥עַל and a winged creature ū·ḇa·‘al הַכְּנָפַיִם . . . hak·kə·nå̄·p̄a·yim יַגֵּ֥יד may report yag·gêḏ דָּבָֽר׃ your speech . dā·ḇār Ecclesiastes 11:1 שַׁלַּ֥ח Cast šal·laḥ לַחְמְךָ֖ your bread laḥ·mə·ḵā עַל־ upon ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י . . . pə·nê הַמָּ֑יִם the waters , ham·mā·yim כִּֽי־ for kî- בְרֹ֥ב after many ḇə·rōḇ הַיָּמִ֖ים days hay·yā·mîm תִּמְצָאֶֽנּוּ׃ you will find it [again] . tim·ṣā·’en·nū Ecclesiastes 11:2 תֶּן־ Divide ten- חֵ֥לֶק your portion ḥê·leq לְשִׁבְעָ֖ה among seven , lə·šiḇ·‘āh וְגַ֣ם or even wə·ḡam לִשְׁמוֹנָ֑ה eight , liš·mō·w·nāh כִּ֚י for kî לֹ֣א you do not lō תֵדַ֔ע know ṯê·ḏa‘ מַה־ what mah- רָעָ֖ה disaster rā·‘āh יִּהְיֶ֥ה may befall yih·yeh עַל־ . . . ‘al- הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land . hā·’ā·reṣ Ecclesiastes 11:3 אִם־ If ’im- הֶעָבִ֥ים the clouds he·‘ā·ḇîm יִמָּלְא֨וּ are full , yim·mā·lə·’ū יָרִ֔יקוּ they will pour out yā·rî·qū גֶּ֙שֶׁם֙ rain ge·šem עַל־ upon ‘al- הָאָ֣רֶץ the earth ; hā·’ā·reṣ וְאִם־ whether wə·’im- עֵ֛ץ a tree ‘êṣ יִפּ֥וֹל falls yip·pō·wl בַּדָּר֖וֹם to the south bad·dā·rō·wm וְאִ֣ם or wə·’im בַּצָּפ֑וֹן to the north , baṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn מְק֛וֹם in the place mə·qō·wm הָעֵ֖ץ where [it] hā·‘êṣ שֶׁיִּפּ֥וֹל falls , še·yip·pō·wl שָׁ֥ם there šām יְהֽוּא׃ it will lie . yə·hū
