בָּֽם׃ . bām Ecclesiastes 10:10 אִם־ If ’im- הַבַּרְזֶ֗ל the axe hab·bar·zel קֵהָ֣ה is dull qê·hāh וְהוּא֙ and wə·hū פָנִ֣ים the blade p̄ā·nîm לֹא־ vvv lō- קִלְקַ֔ל unsharpened , qil·qal וַחֲיָלִ֖ים more strength wa·ḥă·yā·lîm יְגַבֵּ֑ר must be exerted , yə·ḡab·bêr חָכְמָֽה׃ but skill ḥāḵ·māh וְיִתְר֥וֹן produces wə·yiṯ·rō·wn הַכְשֵׁ֖יר success . haḵ·šēr Ecclesiastes 10:11 אִם־ If ’im- הַנָּחָ֖שׁ the snake han·nā·ḥāš יִשֹּׁ֥ךְ bites yiš·šōḵ בְּלוֹא־ before bə·lō·w- לָ֑חַשׁ it is charmed , lā·ḥaš וְאֵ֣ין there is no wə·’ên יִתְר֔וֹן profit yiṯ·rō·wn לְבַ֖עַל for the charmer lə·ḇa·‘al הַלָּשֽׁוֹן׃ . . . . hal·lā·šō·wn Ecclesiastes 10:12 דִּבְרֵ֥י The words diḇ·rê חָכָ֖ם of a wise man’s ḥā·ḵām פִי־ mouth p̄î- חֵ֑ן are gracious , ḥên וְשִׂפְת֥וֹת but the lips wə·śip̄·ṯō·wṯ כְּסִ֖יל of a fool kə·sîl תְּבַלְּעֶֽנּוּ׃ consume him . tə·ḇal·lə·‘en·nū Ecclesiastes 10:13 תְּחִלַּ֥ת The beginning tə·ḥil·laṯ דִּבְרֵי־ of his talk diḇ·rê- פִ֖יהוּ . . . p̄î·hū סִכְל֑וּת is folly , siḵ·lūṯ וְאַחֲרִ֣ית and the end wə·’a·ḥă·rîṯ פִּ֔יהוּ of his speech pî·hū רָעָֽה׃ is evil rā·‘āh הוֹלֵל֖וּת madness . hō·w·lê·lūṯ Ecclesiastes 10:14 וְהַסָּכָ֖ל Yet the fool wə·has·sā·ḵāl יַרְבֶּ֣ה multiplies yar·beh דְבָרִ֑ים words . ḏə·ḇā·rîm לֹא־ No lō- הָאָדָם֙ one hā·’ā·ḏām יֵדַ֤ע knows yê·ḏa‘ מַה־ what mah- שֶׁיִּֽהְיֶ֔ה is coming , še·yih·yeh מִ֖י and who mî יַגִּ֥יד can tell yag·gîḏ לֽוֹ׃ him lōw וַאֲשֶׁ֤ר what wa·’ă·šer יִֽהְיֶה֙ will come yih·yeh מֵֽאַחֲרָ֔יו after him ? mê·’a·ḥă·rāw Ecclesiastes 10:15 עֲמַ֥ל The toil ‘ă·mal הַכְּסִילִ֖ים of a fool hak·kə·sî·lîm תְּיַגְּעֶ֑נּוּ wearies him , tə·yag·gə·‘en·nū אֲשֶׁ֥ר for ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ he does not lō- יָדַ֖ע know yā·ḏa‘ לָלֶ֥כֶת the way lā·le·ḵeṯ אֶל־ to ’el- עִֽיר׃ the city . ‘îr Ecclesiastes 10:16 אִֽי־ Woe ’î- לָ֣ךְ to you , lāḵ אֶ֔רֶץ O land ’e·reṣ שֶׁמַּלְכֵּ֖ךְ whose king šem·mal·kêḵ נָ֑עַר is a youth , nā·‘ar וְשָׂרַ֖יִךְ and whose princes wə·śā·ra·yiḵ יֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ feast yō·ḵê·lū בַּבֹּ֥קֶר in the morning . bab·bō·qer Ecclesiastes 10:17 אַשְׁרֵ֣יךְ Blessed are you , ’aš·rêḵ אֶ֔רֶץ O land ’e·reṣ שֶׁמַּלְכֵּ֖ךְ whose king šem·mal·kêḵ בֶּן־ is a son ben- חוֹרִ֑ים of nobles , ḥō·w·rîm וְשָׂרַ֙יִךְ֙ and whose princes wə·śā·ra·yiḵ יֹאכֵ֔לוּ feast yō·ḵê·lū בָּעֵ֣ת at the proper time — bā·‘êṯ
