יָמָ֖יו his days yā·māw יֹאכֵ֑ל he eats yō·ḵêl בַּחֹ֣שֶׁךְ in darkness , ba·ḥō·šeḵ הַרְבֵּ֖ה with much har·bêh וְכָעַ֥ס sorrow , wə·ḵā·‘as וְחָלְי֥וֹ sickness , wə·ḥā·lə·yōw וָקָֽצֶף׃ and anger . wā·qā·ṣep̄ Ecclesiastes 5:18 הִנֵּ֞ה Here hin·nêh אֲשֶׁר־ is what ’ă·šer- אָ֗נִי I ’ā·nî רָאִ֣יתִי have seen rā·’î·ṯî ט֣וֹב to be good ṭō·wḇ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יָפֶ֣ה and fitting : yā·p̄eh לֶֽאֶכוֹל־ to eat le·’e·ḵō·wl- וְ֠לִשְׁתּוֹת and drink , wə·liš·tō·wṯ וְלִרְא֨וֹת and to find wə·lir·’ō·wṯ טוֹבָ֜ה satisfaction ṭō·w·ḇāh בְּכָל־ in all bə·ḵāl עֲמָל֣וֹ׀ the labor ‘ă·mā·lōw שֶׁיַּעֲמֹ֣ל one does še·ya·‘ă·mōl תַּֽחַת־ under ta·ḥaṯ- הַשֶּׁ֗מֶשׁ the sun haš·še·meš מִסְפַּ֧ר during the few mis·par יְמֵי־ days yə·mê- חַיָּו of life ḥay·yå̄w אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm נָֽתַן־ has given nā·ṯan- ל֥וֹ him — lōw כִּי־ for kî- ה֥וּא this hū חֶלְקֽוֹ׃ is his lot . ḥel·qōw Ecclesiastes 5:19 גַּ֣ם Furthermore , gam הָאֱלֹהִים֩ God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm נָֽתַן־ has given nā·ṯan- עֹ֨שֶׁר riches ‘ō·šer וּנְכָסִ֜ים and wealth ū·nə·ḵā·sîm ל֣וֹ to lōw כָּֽל־ every kāl- הָאָדָ֡ם man hā·’ā·ḏām אֲשֶׁ֣ר - , ’ă·šer וְהִשְׁלִיט֨וֹ and He has enabled him wə·hiš·lî·ṭōw לֶאֱכֹ֤ל to enjoy them , le·’ĕ·ḵōl מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ . . . mim·men·nū וְלָשֵׂ֣את to accept wə·lā·śêṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֶלְק֔וֹ his lot , ḥel·qōw וְלִשְׂמֹ֖חַ and to rejoice wə·liś·mō·aḥ בַּעֲמָל֑וֹ in his labor . ba·‘ă·mā·lōw זֹ֕ה This zōh מַתַּ֥ת is a gift mat·taṯ אֱלֹהִ֖ים from God . ’ĕ·lō·hîm הִֽיא׃ . . . hî Ecclesiastes 5:20 כִּ֚י For kî לֹ֣א [a man] seldom lō הַרְבֵּ֔ה . . . har·bêh יִזְכֹּ֖ר considers yiz·kōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְמֵ֣י the days yə·mê חַיָּ֑יו of his life , ḥay·yāw כִּ֧י because kî הָאֱלֹהִ֛ים God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm מַעֲנֶ֖ה keeps him occupied ma·‘ă·neh בְּשִׂמְחַ֥ת with the joy bə·śim·ḥaṯ לִבּֽוֹ׃ of his heart . lib·bōw Ecclesiastes 6:1 יֵ֣שׁ There is yêš רָעָ֔ה another evil rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer רָאִ֖יתִי I have seen rā·’î·ṯî תַּ֣חַת under ta·ḥaṯ הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ the sun , haš·šā·meš הִ֖יא and it hî וְרַבָּ֥ה weighs heavily wə·rab·bāh עַל־ upon ‘al- הָאָדָֽם׃ mankind : hā·’ā·ḏām Ecclesiastes 6:2 הָאֱלֹהִ֡ים God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm יִתֶּן־ gives yit·ten- ל֣וֹ lōw אִ֣ישׁ a man ’îš אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עֹשֶׁר֩ riches , ‘ō·šer וּנְכָסִ֨ים wealth , ū·nə·ḵā·sîm וְכָב֜וֹד and honor , wə·ḵā·ḇō·wḏ חָסֵ֥ר so that he lacks ḥā·sêr
